Thu Jan 18 2007Loved Santana since the early days. Though some are knocking Supernatural, I loved the cd and it exposed Santana to young people who never heard of Santana. I was so happy for Carlos at the Grammys. True talent deserves a grammy or two.

Mon Aug 21 2006Carlos is an amazing guitarist, and when his band first hit the scene, they were incredibly good.He did a lot of very diverse music, and depending on ones taste, some of it was great, some not. However, the last few cds are HORRIBLE sell-outs.What are you doing, man?!

Tue Mar 08 2005Anything abraxus or earlier is brilliant, andything after, bit crap. Supernatural should be erased from history. Gets a five just for Soul Sacrafice at Woodstock! Quaility Guitar playing!

Fri Dec 31 2004What in hell is Santana doing on a Top 40 list? Isn't there a classic Rock list somewhere?

Mon Mar 08 2004The early albums were fresh and exciting but I think he generally lost it after 'Moonflower' and am surprised 'Supernatural' cleaned up at the Grammies. Still, a guitar player myself I rate him highly. Praps the most recognisable guitar sound in rock.

Thu Feb 20 2003Brilliant. I've always loved Carlos from when I was a very young teenager from way back when. Always doing something new but love Samba Pa Ti above all else.

Wed Mar 13 2002Great guitar music. One of the better bands of the 70s (My favorite is Samba Pa Ti), and Carlos is still good today.

Thu Nov 29 2001One of the most innovative and charismatic guitarists and one of the most unique rock bands of all time. Though Carlos is the only constant in the Santana band, the people he works with are all top notch! The sound of the band is always changing and evolving. Gotta love everything from Santana and Abraxas up to Supernatural. Carlos is one of the most easily recognizable guitarists in rock and roll ever. Great, great, under-rated band!

Fri Nov 02 2001Skilled guitarist, but not very good music. I have listened widely to what carlos has to offer but im just not hearin' it. The only reason he gets four is becuase of his incredibly dexterous fingering of the guitar.

Thu Oct 25 2001An enormous guitarist. From Abraxas to Supernatural. He is also a Latin American icon. He really is up there in the list of the most elite guitarists ever. His classic stuff is great like "Black Magic Woman" and "Oye Como Va." Santana even played at Woodstock!

Tue Jul 31 2001Santana are brilliant musicians, but I find some of Carlos's riffs pretty cheezy.

Sun May 06 2001Ok, Carlos tried a wee bit too hard to draw the young market with Supernatural, but the man rocks. No getting around that. Music to move the soul. And when you look at his overall work. I just feel grateful that he shared his gift with us and I put him up with the five star studs.

Sat Mar 10 2001I noticed most people in here just comment on the Supernatural album which is just later work he did. Did anyone realize he's been around since the 60's. The older Santana work was really good and he truly is a talented guitarist and the band he had was really original and had their own style and unique sound. And to that jackie girl at the beginning who commented on how he kept playing during the middle of songs obviously you don't know about guitar players thats what they do.

Sat Feb 24 2001I like them. But I don't LOVE them. I think they're a tad bit overrated.

Thu Dec 21 2000While I do not want to bash Santana, where would his career be without the help of the artists that made "Supernatural"? Rob Thomas wrote 'Smooth' which was an all out great song. As far as Santana's own music, it's not bad, but his never-ending guitar playing in the middle of songs is very annoying. Remember his performance at the '97 Hall of Fame inductions?

Mon Dec 18 2000I rate them a "3" because I am a multi-cultural person and I like salsa music. You can move your hips and sway to them. They are very interesting to listen to. Also they are positive.

Fri Nov 24 2000Santana has always been one of the greatest giutarists ever lived. I like him even though he's old. It's cool my parents listened to him when they were young or do I now. It put on a cool show with all of his other counterparts.

Tue Sep 26 2000First saw him at Woodstock,(August 1969) at that time he was the opening act for the Grateful Dead. I personally like his blues band the best. Only recently saw him on the Supernatural tour. Macy Gray was the opening act and ruined the whole show. Santana had a great band with him, but Macy would not get off the stage. One whole song from her was too long. complete noise

Tue Sep 05 2000He just gets better!

Tue Sep 05 2000Aside from his last album, he's an average player at best

Mon Apr 10 2000He made a nice comeback and all, but I am still not a big fan of his. His guitar playing begins to sound the same after a while.

Sat Apr 08 2000Massive popularity usually taints music for me, but that hasn't happened with "Supernatural." Despite the hype, it's a really, really good CD, and it's a great reminder that Carlos Santana has been a powerful guitar force for decades now. Supernatural has definitely increased my appreciation for Santana's earlier recordings and his significant contributions to popular music as a whole.
