Wed Sep 02 2009Truly gratifying to see them sucking wind after being so unbearably dominant in the late 80's and 90's...

Sat May 23 2009My favorite team! They look real good.

Tue Aug 26 2008Like their uniforms. They should however put gold numbers with a black and white outline on their red uniforms,as well as gold and white name. They could get red pants with a gold and black stripes on them for the road jerseys.

Tue Aug 12 2008Used to be one of the more better run franchises for many years. From the early 1980's through the last ownership change in 2003, they were constantly in the playoff hunt, now they are constantly lost. They have some quality names and a good young nucleus of players on defense, but a lack of direction seems to undercut their efforts on that side of the ball. On offense, they have some good skill players like Frank Gore. However their passing game is non-existant and the QB situation is a mess. They brought Mike Martz in to spark their offense, but in order to operate the pass heavy offense he wants, he is going to need receivers and a quality o-line, both of which he doesn't have in SF.

Sat May 03 2008i have a feeling this team will be number 1 in the nfc west but they need to improve the quarterbacks.

Mon May 28 2007I like both versions. I think the original version was a little bit better though.

Fri Apr 06 2007"You have to recognize what these teams have done in the past, but the present and future are what I am looking at. Terrible Offensive Line, holes in the defense, a quarterback who was drafted WAY, WAY to high, the wrong starter at runningback, and mediocre depth. Nolan will have this team winning in a couple of years but definately in the bottom 10 teams." - 8/13/2006 I am officially sitting down to a plate of Crow. I was wrong about the 49ers and the Jets. San Fran jumped 2 years ahead of where I thought they would be right now. I was correct about RB, and they corrected that and named Gore the starter. He was the difference for the 49ers this year. My only concerns for this team are the loss of Norv Turner and the loss of Antonio Bryant. Bryant is smug, over confident, and also the best WR this team had. But the strides they made last year should more than make up for the loss of Bryant. PREDICTION (Pre-draft) The 49ers have a much tougher schedule, and while they will do... Read more

Wed Feb 21 2007The San Francisco 49ers are a football team in arebuilding stage that is almost complete they have a soild quarterback in Alex Simth a good running back in Frank Gore and a ok offensive line. If they could get there defence worked out the 49ers may have and good team in 2007.

Mon Apr 24 2006worst team in the NFL

Sat Jan 07 2006Why change a superior look to something that looks expansion at best, when the classic uniform embodies such a rich, winning tradition? The current uniform is too dark, has way too much piping around the numbers, and is basically a bush league updated version of the 49ers classic uni. If the franchise is worried about marketing $$, just think how much interest a switch back to what football fans really want would generate, both in the stands and in the stores. Go back to the classics, please. Enough already.

Wed Dec 28 2005Go back the late 80's uniform please!!!

Sat Oct 29 2005I think they should have kept jerry rice.

Wed Oct 19 2005This team blows. It humors me how the people don't get "current" in the listing. They currently suck, no matter how many Superbowls they won. UPDATE: Wow, they looked like ass against the Cards. I'm gonna have to take them all the way down. There is no excuse in the world for getting beat down by Josh McCown. UPDATE: Put down the crack! They lost to the Cardinals. THE CARDINALS! UPDATE: Well, they set their fate by dealing Rattay and eliminating any competition Smith has for the starting job. Those expecting him to be Montana or Young will have to wait awhile.

Mon Oct 10 2005Not a fan of the team or the uniform but my high school football uniform was an exact clone. Which might explain why we were arguably the worst team to ever play the game.

Tue Oct 04 2005A once proud organization has been dragged through the mud by current owner John York. He has fired the Head coach and the general manager now if the Niners can just get rid of York they will have a hat trick.Update: You have to feel bad for coach Nolan, he is trying every thing in the book and getting the same results. The glaring problem right now is the lack of depth which is sow due to all the injuries the team has suffered. The team on the field lack leadership, they should have brought back Jerry Rice for just that purpose alone. This once great dynasty is still being dragged in the dirt.

Fri Sep 30 2005I really like this uniform and I like the update they made to it several years ago - they kept the basic scheme, but added some contrast with the black. Red and gold is a classy look, just like the Dallas blue and silver.

Tue Sep 27 2005Better than last year (how could they not be?) but still bloody awful. The glory years are long gone, and any glory to come is far in the future.
by 5xworldchamps
Tue Sep 27 2005Well,obviously todays Niners are a mess thanks to salary cap hell but as far as all time, hmm lets see, only team with a sparkling 5-0 superbowl record, winningest team the last 25 years and the team that spawned 2 of the 3 highest rated qb's in history (guess who?)Too many nfl records overall to list. I'm just not even gonna comment on what some fools on this poll wrote like the guy who made up excuses for the lack of real compotision and Steves horrible rating against winning teams, lol. Just not acurate. Any Raider or Cowboy fan will post such illogical crap, usually. What the Niners have accomplished speaks for itself, there really isnt any arguing it. I mean, they were just shut out for the first time since 1977 a few weeks ago...yet another record they owned and one that will never be topped.

Mon Sep 05 2005Greatest NFL dynasty from '81 to '98: 16 staight 10+ win seasons, five Superbowl titles, back-to-back hof qbs, greatest wr of all-time....any questions?!?

Sat Jul 23 2005one word describes the entire organization...GARBAGE

Sat Jul 09 2005The new 9ner uniforms look really nice, and the helmet too. Bring back the gray facemask from the Joe Montana years. It is part of their history. The red ones are alright, but bring back the gray ones will help embrace tradition.
by orville1339
Mon Feb 28 2005I definatley liked the updates made in the late '90s but still I generally find these uniforms very average.
by golden_bear
Tue Feb 08 2005They made a decent head coach choice in Mike Nolan, but this may be the worst shape any NFL team's been in for years.
by cinehead
Sat Feb 05 2005Go back to the 80's uniforms
by alexg681
Sat Feb 05 2005They had the best uniform before the change, and still have the best uniform now!!!

Tue Nov 30 2004Five star fans whose team is on a down swing. These tough years only make me appreciate the history of the team even more. They'll be back!
by starnikita
Tue Nov 30 2004Pretty good looking Uniforms but can we get some pretty good playa's now?
by rand1125
Sun Nov 28 2004I agree with everyone else...You CAN'T mess around with this much NFL tradition!!! Leave this sacred uniform the same for all times!! Just think back to Montana to Clark in 81' if you disagree!
by brhokla
Thu Nov 18 2004Well, When you win 5 superbowls and are tied for most in the NFL then what can you say. Over 15 years of 10+ win season's is awesome. Yes, the team is hurting now with a bad owner, Coach and GM. Salary cap hell hasn't helped but you must say this team has all the rings.
by rockdaddy49er
Thu Nov 18 20045 Time Superbowl Champions.. Nuff Said!!

Mon Nov 15 20045 World Championships multiple Conference and Division Championships, Numerous HOF Players & Coaches. A Football System Copied NFL Wide. That prety much sums it up for me!!

Sat Nov 13 2004The update was unnecessary and hideous. People who suggest updating the decal are wrong -- it should never change. Change is what desparate, foolish expansion teams do to generate fake interest in their failure franchises. It should be illegal for teams to change their appearance. History, pride and tradition are more important than marketing gimmicks and sales force weasel tricks.

Sat Nov 13 2004www.49ersparadise.com need I say more? The best fans in the world!

Sat Nov 13 2004Niners have kick everyone's rearend for 20 years in a row so what if we suck for 2 years and then kick everyones butt for the next 20.
by manchester_uni_ted
Fri Sep 10 2004Their current HOME uni is good-looking, but their road jerseys, and the cardinal-red in general is TOO DARK, in my opinion. When sweat-drenched, and in night games, 49ers' cardinal turns maroon and UGLY! I still prefer the 80's look of their glory years, last worn in 2002 on MNF. Maybe they can follow SUIT with the Jets, Giants and Colts and make a modern update of a classic design: use a brighter red with the current shiny gold, the 1963-95 helmet and pants, simple red and white jerseys, and the 3-striped red socks. Maybe the 1955/1994 Throwback uniform with the shadowed numerals can be used as an alternate.
by tatoosandscarz
Sun Aug 29 2004not a big fan of change, but their update of the 1980's uni's (which were good) is one of the few updates i really like a lot.
by onehungrymonst_er
Wed Aug 25 2004Pretty miserable team.
by bigjohnstud
Fri Aug 20 2004The 1980's 49ers uniforms were the most classy and arguably the best in NFL history. Then one day some dumb ass walked into 49ers head quarters with the brilliant idea to add black and darken the red. Now the 49ers uniforms are ugly and arguably the worst in the NFL.
by mooseg
Thu Aug 12 2004Keep the tradition of the old unis, but with a unique look. Old unis had similar helmet/pants striping as GB, Dal, Det, Cle, NO.

Sat Aug 07 2004thet suck
by darthdragonbl
Sat Aug 07 2004The best uniforms. The colors are a huge improvement from the 80's. The combination of Burnt Red, Black, and Gold are freakin' awesome. Adding the black was the best decision.
by arlo2f5e
Thu Aug 05 2004Decal on helment should be upgraded
by cchscolts83
Fri Jul 09 2004Scarlett and gold combination is a classic - truly unique. Not as good as their 1980's uniforms with the striped socks - (whatever happened to striped socks?) - but fairly close.
by newdealcowboy
Wed May 26 2004no comment on these guys. its good its bad its there. lets just keep it out west.
by kukevin
Fri May 21 2004This team's uniform has slowly evolved for the better from one of the worst in the 1980s to now one of the best. Question to ask is why did it take so long to go from the gray face mask to the red one? The change was a 100% improvement.
by maersk
Wed May 19 2004ive loved this team ever since i saw joe montana drive them down the field in the last seconds of the game to beat the bengals in the superbowl in the silverdome in 1982. its too bad their level of play has dropped so dramatically in the last few years. but im glad the lions got tai streets off em =)
by virilevagabond
Tue Mar 23 2004Pro football is a flashy game which means I generally prefer the flashier uniforms. As a result the uniforms worn by the San Francisco 49ers rise towards the top of my preference list (notwithstanding the fact that I dislike the Niners). The burnt red and gold uniforms are classy and traditional; however, the decal on the team's helmets could be improved.
