Mon Dec 14 2009I bought the Solstice the first week of this month (12/09). After reading most of the specs and reviews on this item at least it was a step up from my Pantech Duo which wasn't a bad phone just for some reason it started to really go downhill a couple weeks before I bought the Samsung. I'm no stranger to the Samsung phone line as I had one before owning the Pantech. I like the way the phone emulates the look of the iPhone but none of the size or weight. Finally I bought a phone that actually works with the AT & T network (I still don't know what is happening with their network as I said, my Duo started being sporatic at best when I came back from vacation in TN...Dunno why). At anyrate its a great phone and I can upload custom ringtones and pictures for the "desktop". However, I do agree with many people that there should be a User way of changing the screensaver when the phone is locked--albiet the provided graphics are nice, just want to personalize it more. I have been w... Read more

Sat Dec 12 2009I've had the phone almost two months now. My husband also bought this phone. We would have preferred the IPhone, but the monthly cost was too expensive for the two year period. Pros: Great for Texting I love the speaker phone (no echo on either of our phones) Sound Quality is good. Camera isn't that great, but works. Cons: Using the internet is worthless on this phone. Too small, too slow. GPS feature costs yet another $10 per month (Sprint provides this as part of the package, and it works well (My daughter has it on her Samsung Instinct Phone). The lock on my phone doesn't always work. I wish I had checked with Sprint prior to getting this phone. They have a much better rate plan and the GPS is included in the plan! AT&T; tacks on so many charges for things others provide in their plans, be sure to check out other plans first. Bottom Line: If you stay with At&T; and can afford the Iphone, you will probably be better satisfied.

Tue Dec 01 2009I've had this phone for 2 days and I am super impressed. It is super intuitive and wonderfully thought out. I wish the headphone jack wasn't proprietary, however an adapter is only a few bucks. Size wise, it fits in my pocked much better than a traditional flip phone and is reasonably light. So far, extremely happy with this phone.

Sat Nov 28 2009I've been using this phone for a little over a month now, and I can safely say it is one of the worst phones I've ever come across. Let me list the reasons why... 1. The camera takes nice photos, but you can only store four 2-megapixel pictures in the phone's memory before you run out of room. 2. The virtual keypad that appears when sending a text is absolutely, unbelievably impossible to use. Like the iPhone, if you turn the phone sideways you get a large qwerty keyboard. But unlike the iPhone, this phone has no idea what you want to type. It always thinks I want to press the key BELOW the one I actually want to use, making texting (a once simple task), a frustrating chore. 3. The T9 program on this phone is, forgive me, retarded. It selectively learns and forgets words. The other day I wanted to type the letter "a." It recommended "as," "2," "crap," and "by," but "a" was not an option. I had to go into the Abc mode to type "a." Similarly, whenever I want to use the word "jus... Read more

Fri Nov 27 2009This phone is great. just got it a few days ago and i am nothing but in love with it. the touchscreen is very responsive (and Durable). the virtual qwerty keyboard is very reliable and easy to use. when i was at the at&t; store i tried other (what i considered to be, later found out otherwise) comparable phones, primarily the lg vu. i was VERY dissatisfied with the touchscreen response, accuracy, and "buttons" on the qwerty. it also helps that i am loyal to samsung. i have owned one other brand (Nokia e71x) and it was a piece of crap.overall a great little, and stylish, phone. ps- i do recomend a screen cover, but thats just me
