Sun Dec 07 2008This is the computer I've been waiting for! I'm a small business person and a busy Mom. I constantly run between the office, between the kids' activities and between appointments in helping my parents. While I own a smartphone, I got frustrated in not being able to type long memos with it while I was on the go. The netbook is perfect. I can fit it in my purse easily, and work just about anywhere. I'm a speed typist, and the keyboard is very comfortable. I did own a 8.9 computer previously, and its keyboard, as well as the screen, was way too small. The 10 inch netbook is just right, and the screen is very clear. The NC10 is very fast, and there's lots of storage on the hard drive. When I close the computer and reopen the cover, it goes back to where I was working in seconds. I got a white model. The machine looks clean and sharp to me. And I know it passes the cool factor when my teenage sons also want one. We've been watching videos on it from Sling.com and YouTube all moring with... Read more

Sat Dec 06 2008Like some other reviewers, I've been researching for a netbook for a while comparing laptops from the Asus eee 900/1000 series, Acer Aspire One, MSI Wind, Dell Mini, HP, Lenovo and so and I've come to a conclusion that the Samsung has to be the best one. I'm using the blue Samsung NC10 typing this review and the keyboard works almost as smoothly as a regular keyboard. Pros: -Battery life(6-8 hours) - Nice keyboard feel - Bright, crisp screen - Easy upgradeable memory(2GB) - 10' screen a + Cons: - The trackpad is a bit hard to get used to - $500 price tag - No tilting beyond 45 degrees back - Built in speakers low volume Conclusion: I was considering the Acer Aspire One as probably the closest resemblance to this netbook but this outshines the Acer in many ways. The most notable is its keyboard and screen. If your looking for one of the longest lasting netbooks out there with a great keyboard, a great screen, and don't mind spending a bit more than regular, get t... Read more

Sat Dec 06 2008After doing a lot of research on netbooks, I settled on the NC10 because of its consistently excellent reviews. I couldn't be happier. It's light weight, beautifully designed, a fantastic keyboard, is just as fast as my Vista desktop, and so far has handled everything I have thrown at it. I've loaded it up with all of the programs I plan on using on the little thing and it's handled everything extremely well so far. All of the programs load just as fast as more powerful laptops. The keyboard is very nice. Great feel, and great size. You have to get used to it being smaller, but it doesn't take long at all. The wireless is very fast. It blows my older laptop away. You can download videos flawlessly. I downloaded most of my programs and had them installed in less than an hour. I can't complain about a single thing with this machine. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Oh, and a lot of people have upgraded to 2 gigs of RAM, but so far the included 1 gig is wo... Read more

Fri Dec 05 2008Preordered from Amazon on Oct. 19 with delivery on Dec. 1. The wait was worth it. Upgraded memory to 2GB, although performance was adequate with 1GB. This will replace my Dell 1420 as my primary laptop. It'll save a lot of weight and hassle without any real sacrifice. Pros: Size and weight. Runs all normal office apps acceptibly. 6-cell battery--long battery life. Bluetooth--don't need usb receiver for mouse Keyboard--good size, feel, and layout Cons: Touchpad--flush with wrist-rest. Almost no tactile clues that your finger is sliding off the touchpad (which is small). 600 pixel vertical resolution. Standard for netbooks, but when running an app like Word 2007 with ribbon, leaves very little space for working.
