Samsung Mythic

I've had my Mythic for a few months now and know my way around it pretty well. It only comes in one color - black on the front and a reddish purple design on the back. Doesn't matter to me because I covered it in an elastic case. The memory card is reached by removing the back panel of the phone, and unflipping the slot, but files can be transferred to and from the card simply by connecting a usb cable to the phone and pc. There is a music player with standard options and playlist settings, and when headphones are plugged in, it sounds no worse than an iPod. Contact lists are easy to navigate, and the touchscreen is very responsive, though like any phone there is sometimes a bit of a lag. One of my gripes is the menu interface. There are several options that I cannot remove, such as Mobile TV, XM Radio, AT&T road navigator, etc., all of which require extra fees to use. The menu does have some cool items. There is NO wired option to make phone calls with the Mythic. I have contacted Samsung and after many emails, their final response was: "In summary, the 3.5 is designed to allow for both music and calls. However at this time there is not an accessory that can complete both functions. Your option for both functions would be to use a Stereo BT device. Thanks, Technical Support" They will not admit they screwed up. They only will say that there are no accessories invented that will work with the 3.5mm jack even though every other phone with a 3.5mm jack works fine with any phone compatible headphone. CLASSIC!! Please call Samsung and let them know that this is unacceptable.

I'll start by saying I've been an AT&T; customer for years and have always had Motorola phones with no major complaints. This phone as I stated in my title is "AWESOME". No it is not an iPhone and I never expected it to be, but it's quite a phone with tons of stuff (just about anything you'd want)!! Right out of the box, no problems at all. I use mine for making calls, music and web surfing. Touchscreen works great for me, but I'm old school and rarely text. Want it - Get it, you will not be disappointed (most will love it) P.S. This is replacing my Motorola Razor V3 and I'm sort of remotely located and the reception on this Mythic is considerably better! As for the previous poster (Edward), if you would use a different ISP, would not have any problems downloading the manual ;)

well i just got my mythic 10 days ago and im happy with it. theres a few things id like to have changed about it and so ive been told i can change them, ive had a sgh-i607 the black jack for over 2 years now and i love it. now time to play with my new samsung!!!! ive been searching for 3 weeks to find some info on the mythic and to learn some cool tricks at [...] see ya around.

I put in the cd and it stated that "file to large AOL cant open. Went on line cant seem to find the manual anywhere.Cant say if I like the phone yet or not.Went shopping for a protective case -there are none out yet. Went shopping for a screen cover-there are none out yet.So with out a manual I will sit here and just keep on pressing the screen and see what happens lol

After I read a professional review, I wasn't sure about the Mythic. It rated the touch screen and the camera as poor. Not so, according to my (two week's experience) with the Mythic. The touch screen works fine and the camera is exceptional. I have a lot of experience with digital cameras and having this camera with me all the time means I will not have to drag around a dedicated camera. Granted, it's not great in low light without flash, but what basic camera is? What attracted me to the Mythic was the standard (miniature) USB connector and the standard headphone jack. Not having to keep special cables around, which I always misplace, is a definite plus. Call quality seems great. I live at the very edge of AT&T; 3G reception and the phone does about as well as the best phone I've had. The battery life is a real plus: two weeks of stand-by time!!
