Safeco Field (Seattle Mariners)

Although the Kingdome had its heyday, Safeco Field is the Gallant to the Kingdome's Goofus (those of you who read Highlights in the dentist's office know what I'm talking about). It's design is impressive, the architecture is classy yet technologically advanced, and it is definitely a fan's ballpark. There are homages to classic Mariners players throughout, and the stadium itself is right off of Edgar Martinez Drive, who, as all Mariners fans know, was the greatest doubles hitter who couldn't actually run. The views throughout the stadium are great, and when the roof is open is one of the most beautiful in all of baseball. Being in one of the most beautiful cities in the U.S. and within a few blocks of the heart of downtown doesn't hurt either. I hate retractable roof stadiums but this one feels pretty open. Plus its in seattle so its alittle more understandable for a roof.

Good place to watch a game. Elbow room is limited, but concessions are good. It's a place worth visiting.

Spectacular! Mountains, Sea, Skyline and Baseball in a world class modern baseball stadium. Sports should be this good everywhere, but unfortunately most places aren't located in the Pacific Northwest by so many gorgeous natural surroundings like Safeco Field for the Seattle Mariners. Hands down one of the worlds greatest sports complexes in history.

Decent place, good sightlines, pretty good atmosphere, if a little too laid back for my taste. Pretty ugly team to watch the last few years except for Ichiro in 2004. As far above the Kingdome as a ballpark could be.

Best baseball stadium by far!!!

Great view from anywhere in this park. It really does feel like an old school park with the architecture and seating arangements. The retractable roof being the only real obvious new technological part. When the games going on you can hear the train horns going by past the right center area outside of the stadium which is a cool effect. Great food and some sections have heated floors to help with the cold even. Nice relaxing stadium to watch a game. Yes it has real grass also not that fake crap they use in the Quest Seahawks stadium thank goodness.

Named after a car insurance (scam) company, therefore, it sucks the big one.

The stadium is nice, great food. But, the seats are quite uncomfortable.

This is a nice new stadium but it's too much of a pitcher's park, while Kingdome was too much of a hitter's park.

It is the coolest professional stadium I've ever been too. Not a bad seat, and there is great fan support.

This is a Great Baseball stadium--no rained out games here with the retractable roof. The bad part is the parking--very costly in this area. Do you like trains?? sure to hear some going by during the game.The Mariners are a great team this season--catch a game if in the area.

I was at Safeco and I saw Ichiro, he is little and Japanese and helped make Pokemon Snap. If you don't like this ballpark, you probably haven't been there. I think it is fun to watch baseball, once I saw a baseball game and i almost got hit in the head by a baseball. It was scary. Then I ran onto the field because some people are just gay. I don't like canada. This ballpark would be better if it weren't so close to canada. SUBMIT

What a change from the bad turf no atmosphere of the Kingdome to one of the best retro parks right after Pac Bell and Camden.The best of the retractable roof parks. But it should be for the price it cost the city.

Thanks to the 'Refuse to Lose' 1995 season swaying the local taxpayers opinion about baseball in Seattle the Mariners now find themselves host in one of the greatest sporting stadiums on the planet. +: Good local beer, open-air with a roof (no rainouts!), great sight lines, city and waterfront views, spacious walkways, funky CF area standing room/bar, stadium-rattling train whistles, Alex Rodriquez. -: Traffic and parking, incompetent vendors, glares/shadows from NW's low sun angle, bone-chilling cold some nights in April.

A fantastic park for spectators. From the concourse, which is open to the field all around, it seems as though you could just step out onto the grass. Good views of the game from all over the park, and scenic views of Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier, and the city from the upper rows. This is a park that will reward those who like to walk around; there's something different to find in every corner, on every level. Definitely one of those places that has a magic kind of vibe in the air. I would go to Safeco Field every week if I could.
