Mon May 17 2010It is very hard to learn language, you never know how to pronounce written text. Many Russian don't know Russian language too. There are ideas to simplify Russian language, so I'll wait and see :)

Sat Mar 06 2004I never did complete the study of the Russian language that I began years ago. It may seem daunting due to the Cyrillic alphabet, but I don't think it's any tougher to learn than, say, German. The professor I had as a teacher was a native Russian whose family had been kicked out of Russia by the Bolsheviks, and who spoke about a dozen languages well(Russian, English, all of the Slavic languages, German, French, and Italian). He claimed that the only non-Russians who could get Russian pronunciation like a native were People from Naples; apparently Neapolitan has a lot of sound combinations that equate to similar sounds in Russian. For whatever it's worth...
