Okay, I just saw uf beat fsu in tallahassee. schools like florida have really high standards and zook did have a winning record so you have to give him lots of credit for trying his best. here in syracuse, we have coach pasqualoni, who sucks but we the university keeps him anyway. hmmmmmm

I've watched every UF coach since Ray Graves and Ron Zook ranks up there with the best. He may not have Spurrier's win % yet but give him a chance. I think his teams and game strategies are much better balanced than Spurrier's. At least Zook realizes that there are other players besides QB's and Receivers. UF kept Pell for five years after a winless season. Roon Zook deserves better

He lost every close game except for 4. He beat Arkansas twice in close games in which he blew a HUUUUUUUGE lead only for Arkansas to run out of time, he beat Georgia last year in a close game, and he beat Vanderbilt 2 years ago in a close game. He needs to beat BOTH Vanderbilt and South Carolina to be bowl eligable (he'll lose to FSU). I would not put a dime either way in either of the 2 games.

Zook has put together a very highly repeced coaching staff and is an excelent recruiter. He has bn let down by his ofensive and defensive choices who show that they are unable to fiish off an opponent. He dosent have the sense of going for the juglar like Spurrier. He will after this week. Look for him to go all the way undefeated.

You people must have loved the look of the Emporer's New Clothes! This guy has no clue how to finish a game. And the comment about will grow into a good coach, my lord! Sir, put down the cocktail, step away from the bar and no one will get hurt! You have GOT to be drunk! This guy has effectively trained the killer instinct from a once proud program. They are fundamentally incapable of finishing big games. This coaching staff is truly the shame of the state. Oh, and by the way people, the Emporer was NAKED! Get rid of these clowns.

Ron Zook played football with me at Loudonville HS. He was a hard worker then and he's a hard worker now ! He knows the game and he's proved his success at all levels of the game. Ron Keiser Marion, Ohio

A great recruiter playing in a tough conference but has not won 10 games in one year yet!

Zook has done well with the players he has, there aren't many big names on this team. Chris Leak is probably the biggest name now that Ben Troupe is in the NFL. But he has kept the Gators in the top 25 most of the time, their impressive streak of weeks in the rankings was broken last year when they lost five games. Florida has shown hints of brilliance seeing as how they beat LSU, but they lost to a couple of teams they shouldn't have lost to (Ole Miss, among others), and they almost lost to Kentucky, which would have been bad. But props to Zook on his coaching job.

Coach Zook is a great guy, I love him and believe he will bring SEC and National championships to Florida Gators once he swallows his pride and starts running Florida football just like Ole Ball Coach (Spurrier) use to run it. Coach Zook...If it isnt broke, (and I believe it wasnt) just maintain it and quit trying to make unnecessary changes. Two straight mediocre years of Florida football is unbearable especially after 12 straight years of satisfaction with the Spurrier system. My advise to Coach Zook is to learn and perfect what he already has in his back pocket/on hand (i.e. Spurrier System (at least on Offense) and just show us the money by deepening Zook's defensive prowessmaking the Gators defense a model for college football. Good luck pal and bring back the Glory days to Gainesville soonest!

Ron Zook is the hardest working coach in America. His players love him. He is stocking UF with LOADS of talent. The Gators are getting tougher each year and will be a factor this year and a force next year. Coach Zook runs a clean program and is a credit to UF. As he fills his roster with HIS recruited players and completely implements his system, the Gators will soar to even greater heights than ever.

I think he is the best coach for the University of Florida. His game planning is unbelievable. His ability to make adjustments is crucial to UF's suCcEsS. He has great ethics in recruiting and discipline. I think he is a genius, as was Coach Superior. I hope he remains the Head Ball Coach at UF forever.

People seem to forget that in his first two years, he was TWO plays from going to the SECCG both years! He now has his team to coach. He'll be fine and I also hope he retires at F-L-O-R-I-D-A!!

If anyone wants the cold hard facts as the idiot who says spurrier was not a good coach puts it we should ask how many teams from the SEC have won a national title since 1996. And for our little friend who thinks that florida is classless because the FORMER head coach ran up scores they need to check how LSU acted two years ago when they beat us in the swamp. While Ron Zook is improving the keyword is improving. When you have a powerhouse team like Florida coming off of Spurrier's reign you should be able to find a coach people have heard of. If that is not the case the coach should be able to prove that they belong the FIRST year, not the third. He is alright but not as special as Florida deserved.

He has to win at least 10 games this year or the faithful will be calling for Spurrier again. I think if the Gators make it to a BCS game then all will be well again in The Swamp. Zook is a decent coach, and a great person, but this is his make or break year. I hope he makes it, but only time will tell. Go Gators

Ron Zook is getting a lot better. As many have mentioned, people have expected way too much out of him in his first two years. He is regrouping the team and with Leak, Fason, and some of the other outstanding newcomers (who have some valuable experience now) the Gators have the chance to reclaim their 90s SEC glory. The Gators may not have historically dominated the SEC but 12 years of past glory and the stars of the present look to reveal that in the next years it will be great to be a Florida Gator.

Takes alot of flack for a coach who led his teams to New Year's Day bowls in his first two seasons. Under-rated coach here.

HE IS STARTING TO TURN IT AROUND. WILL BE KILLED BY LSU IF THEY PLAY IN SEC CHAMPIONSHIP. LEAK IS PLAYING BETTER AND THAT IS SCARY FOR SEC TEAMS FOR THE YEARS TO COME. NEEDS TO GET HIS TEAM TO BEHAVE BETTER. HIS TEAM IS CLASSLESS BUT NOT SHURE ABOUT HIM. mAYBE THAT PART JUST CARIED OVER FROM SPURIER WHO THOUGHT HE SHOULD RUM UP SCORES
