I RATE HIM MUCH MUCH HIGHER. IN FACT, AN ARGUMENT CAN BE MADE THAT HE IS THE VERY BEST OF ALL! ROGER WAS RATED HIGHER THAN UNITAS WHO'S CONSIDERED BY MOST TO BE EQUAL OR BETTER THAN MONTANA. STAUBACH PLAYED AT A TIME WHEN IT WAS A RUNNING LEAGUE -- NO 5 YARD SPACE ALLOTED TO RECEIVERS BY DEFENSIVE BACKS AT THAT TIME. QUARTERBACKS HAD TO BE ACCURATE AS THEY WERE THROWING IN TO DRAPPED COVERAGES. ALTHOUGH HE JOINED THE COWBOYS IN 1969, HE REALLY ONLY STARTED FOR 8 YEARS --HE LOST ONE YEAR DUE TO INJURY AND TWO MORE BECAUSE LANDRY SIMPLY DIDN'T START ROOKIES. STAUBACH THREW FOR 22,700 YARDS; THAT'S ABOUT 2,400 YARDS PER YEAR. HE HAD 23 COMEBACKS--THAT'S AMAZING CONSIDERING THE RULES AT THAT TIME. THE COWBOYS NEVER HAD A LOSING SEASON AND STUABACH TOOK THE COWBOYS TO THE PLAYOFF EVERY YEAR BUT ONE. NEITHER MONTANA NOR UNITAS CAN SAY THAT (JOE HAD A LOSING SEASON IN 1982 - STRIKE SEASON). First leader of Americas Team. Lead many great comebacks, but had a somewhat low stats. Won 2 superbowl's but lost 2 also. Worthy of 2 Stars

Oh how much better Staubach's career stats would be if he didn't lose 4 years at the start of his NFL career to the navy. He was the original Captain Comeback, and did it just as well, if not better than Montana, Elway, Favre AND Brady.  I'll never forget the "Hail Mary" game against Minnesota in '75, and the big comebacks against the Redskins. Definitely one of the top 5 QBs of all time

If you want a winner, a leader, and one of the NFL's all time clutch players look no further than Roger Staubach. A member of the NFL's Pro Football Hall of Fame and MVP of Super Bowl VI. One of the most fierce competitiors of all time and an athelete a kid good truly look up to!

If you understand how abbreviated his career was, you could actually make th case for him as the greatest of all time. Certainly the greatest clutch QB ever.

A class act on and off the field. When Staubach was calling the shots, you couldn't count the Cowboys out until the final seconds clicked off the clock. Was one of the last few players that could truly be role models and heros.

I hated the Cowboys in the 70s, and Staubach was one of the main reasons. You were always worried as long as there was time on the clock--in my book, he's #2 to Montana only.

My 1st hero in life was Roger the Dodger and I really think there is enough evidence proving he is the best QB of all time if not one of the greatest 3 players of all-time. He served his country in Vietnam, Never had a losing season, went to 4 superbowls, Won 10 games in a row and slammed dunked the Dolphins in the superbowl his 1st season as taking over at QB. This is a religious man who loves his country and imagine if he would of played 4 years earlier? Where would dallas be, with 4 or 5 rings in the 70's? This is a man who won the Hiesman when it ment something. Roger was not Captain Comeback for anything. Everytime he played Dallas always had a chance to win. How many people can you say that of today.

The ComeBack King!!!!!! Staubach is a true class act, a real professional. Just like Troy Aikman, he didn't have any fancy passing records, but he got the job done, and in a winning fashion!!!!!!

I believe that Roger needs to get more recognition for what he has done. He was the top quarterback in his time and I think that he was as good if not better than Joe Montana and John Elway. But people just don't give him enough credit.
