I have known Rocky since 1972. Although he probably doesn't remember me from NMMI. I am proud to say Rocky is still my friend and, If I saw him today, I would be just as proud as I was at NMMI. He is a Gentleman in all respects. Tom the KiltedMan

Rocky Burke is one of the busiest of the newer referees, and  I use the term newer relatively, he has been a referee since 1998.The majority of his work takes place in the southwest; Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. Many of the fights that he has refereed have been televised on cable and premium channels such as Showtime. Rocky is a former professional boxer and utilizes his own experience to competently and fairly referee a fight. Rocky is a former Marine and part of a boxing family from Las Cruces, New Mexico. His brother is former boxer and 1983 ESPN Lightweight champion Louie Burke, and his father is the late Sammy Burke, a well known  Las Cruces politician, former boxer and Olympic boxing coach. I should add that I am part of that family. Rocky is my cousin.
