Go during Christmas ... otherwise there isn't any point ... unless you have tickets to Carson Daly's show and in that case ... go during Christmas. haha. ;P The tree is magnificent and watching the ice skaters go around and around in a circle is somewhat transfixing ... until you focus in on a boyfriend practically inhaling his girlfriend's head in the middle of a heavy makeout session... yeah, TOO much Christmas romance going on at Rockefeller Center. LOL.

It's pretty cool out there...especially when the Today show is on. I was there once when Sheryl Crow was on and it was a lot of fun hanging out.

Rockefeller Center is a wonderful place, I wouldnt go out of my way to go there and Id defiantly avoid 30 Rock unless you have advance Tickets to a taping, skip the NBC tour unless you really like that type of thing. Unlike most I like Rockefeller Center in Summer more than when the rink is up and running, and if youve never seen the tree then its probably worth the trip but otherwise stay away in the late afternoon during the Christmas season.

This is one of the most magical places to be at Christmas time. I love to see the skaters, the tree, the store windows with animated puppets, and of course St Patrick's cathedral. Being there when the air is cold and crisp, filled with the aroma of roasted chestnuts- is a fond memory I have from my childhood. I have seen the Rockettes a few times- it was expensive but worth it. Some shops near the skating rink are interesting- such as the Museum shop, the Catholic store, the spy store, and a TV nostalgia shop.

The hustle and bustle of Rockefeller Center at mid-day was exactly what I expected and also exactly what I felt properly expressed the tempo of the New York City I had read about and seen in countless movies my entire life. I was thrilled to stand next to the famous Radio City Music Hall building and step inside the lobby briefly to gawk around like the awe struck Middle-American tourist I am. A hurriedly eaten vendor hot dog on the street for a mere $1.00 followed later by a pricey Cobb salad in the café which now resides in the center of what will become that famous skating rink in a few short months made the experience seem even more authentic and dreamlike at the same time. The only thing that seemed strange is that this whole area is really a lot smaller than the movie cameras and still photographers might have you believe.

Rockefeller is a pretty place. It's cool especially when the TODAY show has a good musical guest.

Rockerfeller Center is one busy, busy place and yes, you can get lost. It is a beautuiful place also though. Children are ice skating and men are selling hot dogs and soft pretzels. I wouldn't call it an attraction, although the many different kinds of flags kind be ncie to watch.

If you're in NYC in the winter, Rockefeller Center is worth a stop to check out the huge Christmas tree and the ice skaters (if you want to go for a skate, be prepared for a long wait). Otherwise, unless you're some hick from Kansas who wants to stand behind Al Roker and scream during the Today Show, Rockefeller Center isn't really worth it.

A nice place to pause in the middle of a busy day-watch the skaters-and if you can stand the crowds at Christmas-to look at "the Tree"

A pretty good stop if you're just walking the streets and stop in but I don't think I'd go out of my way to get there. My recommendation is walk through the park then down along 5th avenue checking out the shops and then as you pass by Rockerfeller Center stop in and take a look around. Maybe get a little something to nibble on at the rink side cafe. Now if it's the winter and I was in town for just a couple of days I might make the effort to head there to skate, just for the atmosphere.

I thought the NBC Studio Tour was way overpriced, after all it's just a promotional tour for the network!

A nice place for a family picture, but don't waste your time in line for skates, it is not worth it.
