Mon Nov 19 2007I seriously love this place! The selection of vinyl and DJ Equipment is the best in New York City. They have the best prices... period... and they've been in business longer than anyone else (and it shows). Be prepared to spend some time there as well. It's a great place to hang out.

Rock & Soul also has racks and stacks of turntables, mixers, faders, speakers, whistlers, woofers, tweeters--you name it, they got it. And yes, they also do repairs. The record section is in the back, beneath a loft-like second-floor area. What They've Got Seventy percent vinyl, 30 percent CDs. The hip-hop and R&B section is what hits you when you first duck through the doorway--racks of 12-inches and albums by everyone from the Treacherous Three to A Tribe Called Quest to Trick Daddy. There are also racks of special-pressing 12-inches that feature several artists on one disc--say, a song by Missy Elliot and Timbaland, one by Nas, and two by Busta Rhymes--all... Read more
