He had the menacing nickname - "Night Stalker" and his crimes were done in places normally thought safe adding to his terror. He scrawled messages in blood on the walls of his victims homes and he was a rapist as well as a killer. He was, in my opinion, evil-looking as well - almost devilish. Victims he left alive described him as "evil-smelling" Also, unlike Gacy, he operated after his crimes were discovered and the police knew they had a serial killer on their hands. I'd say he was in a tie with Gacy for the worst - but for different reasons.

I'm not sure how to rate this, but I'll give him a five, not because I think he was great, but because he was such a monster, and I guess in monster business he was quite successful, at least for a while. I remember Richard Ramirez (AKA The Night Stalker) quite well. He broke into a house not to far from where I was living at that time in Whittier. I think he raped the woman and killed the husband. Their home was painted very similar to mine, and the story that was being reported at that time said he had a pattern of hitting yellow and white houses. My wife was freaked out. At that time I didn't have car, so I had to get up at 3:00 in the morning to catch three buses to take me to work. So my wife was alone in the early morning hours six days a week, and she was terrified during these times. I'm not sure how many women he eventually raped and murdered, but in his final attempt, he picked the wrong neighborhood. He attacked some woman in an East Los Angeles neighborhood, her screams wer... Read more

Definitely a personal favorite. I can still remember as a child growing up in California hearing about this guy breaking into people's homes and killing them. How cool is that!?! That takes some serious cojones, brother. This dude seriously ROCKED and doesn't get the credit he deserves! FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!!!

All his numerous female(and male) groupies can't be wrong. I mean, who could resist a sadistic Satan-loving, multible murdering ex-thief and druggie(cocaine, pot) with good looks and celebrity status? Ricky also showed to America that a poor Hispanic boy can grow up to be an extremely important figure in a field typically dominated by middle class white people.(serial-killing) He didn't discriminate; he killed everybody: children and senior citizens, men and women, whites, blacks, Hispanics and Asians. He robbed from the rich, the poor, and many people in between. The Night Stalker is known to have a good sense of humour. There's also some quality company for him in San Quentin's death row. Ramirez has played bridge with the likes of The Scorecard Killer Randy Kraft, The Sunset Strip Slayer Douglas Clark, Pliers Lawrence Bittaker and The Freeway Killer William Bonin.(executed in 1996.)
