Remington Short Cut Clipper

It should be noted that I bought this with the intention of using it without any guide comb on for the shortest cut possible (I still reattach a guide to the unit just to protect the blades). It feels VERY natural to hold and because it's cordless there's no weight at the end to drag it down. Obviously the greatest factor is how wide it is and how quickly you can go. You'll never go back to traditional clippers again after this.

I buy way too many "gadgets". Most of them sound like cool toys and usually end up at the bottom of a drawer or in the trash. Of the gadgets I've bought that I can't live without, regardless of the price I paid, are my GPS unit, phone headset, Tivo and a handful of others. It is a gadget that's designed for a very limited and specialized target market ... those who like to have their hair cut very short and evenly across their entire head. It's also a gadget that has zero necessity, because there are all kinds of hair clippers on the market, and only a small percentage of people cut their own hair. So I thought the idea was silly.
