Red Faction

This is a first person shooter that takes place on Mars. This game was obviously inspired by Doom. Doom and Red faction take place on mars and are first person shooters. You can blast holes through the walls with mines or bazookas. When you get hurt on this game, medics heal you. But put your gun away before they see you or they won't heal you. One thing that is irritating is that it has to load evey little bit. And it takes 10-17 seconds to do it. Half Life is better than Red faction. I give Red faction a 4 star rating.

With a fairly silly plot that seems curiously derivative of the one in the film Total Recall Red Faction is nonetheless a very enjoyable FPS and one that spawned the Geo-mod engine which basically allows you to blow up scenery, though this is excellent in that it makes your surroundings look genuinely war-torn following a battle it doesn't have a major strategic effect on the game like it should have. The gameplay is fairly repetitive but with that said this is probably a good thing considering most of this game is the marginally entertaining task of blasting through cannon fodder.

THE......BEST.....GAME.....EVER

WOW! This is the one game on Playstation 2 that can compete with HALO. An interesting plot, a geomod that allows you change the environment in realtime, and a very fun multiplayer option. I've spent hours playing multiplayer with friends, it's quick paced and gives you the option of bots; something unheard of in HALO. Now the game has gone to the greatest hits status and is a GREAT buy for 20 bucks.

Really Good game but Goldeneye is still my fave FPS. IF some of the missions were more than just kill everyone or blow up a couple things it would be an easy five.

Finally Red Faction is out! All the hype has been building on the FPS from Volition with its Geo-Mod and great story line, this may revolutionize the FPS as we know it.The hype meter has been high on this game and ever since I played the demo,Ive been wanting to get this game really bad.I can tell the difference between the final product and the free demo THQ and Volition gave out awhile back. You are Parker,a man who wants a change in his life and decides to go to Mars for bigger and better things.Little did he know what he was going to run into....basically a slave camp! The miners revolt and this is where we start the game.A character in the game named EOS starts this rebellion and calls the rebels "Red Faction"...your job....simple....go through hundreds of Ultor soldiers.....think you can do it miner?! Gameplay Well,if you played Time Splitters or Quake 3 Revolution,you will be familar with the controls.If Time Splitters is 60 FPS then Red Faction is also 60 FPS.Havent Noticed ... Read more
