On December 2, Red Ball Garage charged me $559.91 to fix an oil leak on my engine by replacing 2 valve Cover Gaskets. (Another transaction was made with Red Ball Garage for $311.77 on 11/30 that I am not disputing. This charge was to replace an ignition coil #5 that was misfiring.) On December 28, I returned my vehicle to Red Ball Garage because my car appeared to still be having problems. On December 29, The manager from Red Ball told me that the oil leak was fixed and coil that they fixed both looked fine, but another $870 would be needed to replace all other coils and all spark plugs. I did not do the additional service with Red Ball but instead took my car to Crown Ford on 12/29 to inspect the issue. Crown Ford called me on January 4 to tell me that coil #7 needed to be repaired and both valve gaskets would need to be replaced to fix the current oil leak. I explained to the service advisor at Crown Ford, that I had been to the Red Ball Garage and paid $560 to fix this very i... Read more

I came here after another place tried to charge me a thousand bucks for an exhaust job. Red Ball gave me a better estimate, and they tried to save me $250 by preserving the catalytic converter. They couldn't, but I appreciated the effort and the price was still 3/4 of what the other garage told me. Brian at the desk is very respectful and straightforward, and they *always* tell you exactly what they're doing and why -- to me, that's the best mark of a trustworthy mechanic. I should mention I'm a woman, and as we all know, some mechanics will really try to take advantage of that. Never had that problem at Red Ball. I agree that it's not the fastest garage -- but that's because they're so busy with satisfied customers. It's worth a little waiting to get good, reasonably-priced service. As others have pointed out, it's best to just to drop the car off early you want it back that day

This garage has new owner & management as of 90 days ago. Goodyear was trying to rip me off to the tune of $175.00 trying to sell me diagnostics for $105.00 after I told them I needed a new thermostat. They then offered to install a new thermostat for $150.00. Red Ball Garage installed the new thermostat for $87.00.

man you can tell by the date of these reviews that they are the same people, why would someone write a review of how someone was creepy and dirty and then on the same date a written review from red ball, telling how great they are. sounds like they are all mad at each other, hope they find peace among themselves, bashing each shows non maturity. i would advise both parties to go about there lives and grow up. man it so obvious on this site when bad review hits then its instantly met with a great review, the sad part of this is the review can not work. no one knows what to believe, come on people this is a review site not a way of bashing each other. you can never get a real opinion at all, you have to try to sort out the real from the fake... pretty stupid!

In regards to the review from "All the good people gone". We cannot believe a nurse would: 1)Identify the hospital at which they were employed on a public review. 2)Use such bad grammar 3)Not use spellcheck. That review is not the opinion of all nurses at the Hospital. Red Ball Garage you have our business!

i am a nurse at baptist, i used to use this shop as did several of the people i work with, no problems, now the entire crew that was there and good are all gone, new faces everytime you go there and guy behind the counter is rude and arrogant. the prices have went up a lot. it always seems that when you get used to going some place with good people that you trust and bam there gone, went to get my oil changed and the fat guy behind the counter acted like he could care less if he ever saw me again. well he won't. he will realize that customer service goes along way as i have told all the people i work with not to go there.. what a shame it was so convenient to use them, but not at this risk, if you want a rude fat guy with a new mechanic every week then this is the place, me i paid to much for my car to risk it.. good luck to everyone else in that area. that needs service. my advice find a different place that has employee retention, if they have this much turnover something is wrong..... Total ripoff, we do not recommend. Charged 190 for cleaning lines to the battery, a new battery, a jump start and an oil change. Seemed a little high to me - mostly seemed to high to my husband. We will not go back.

My husband first told me to go to this garage when I was having transmission issues. They had worked on his Jeep Cherokee air conditioning (which is apparently bad in general) so I brought it there. I was told that the transmission needed to be replaced, and that's okay - my '04 Accord was jumping on me! The cost of replacing the transmission and the brake pads cost well over $4500. Online, a transmission retails $2600, and brake pads are about $50. I was charged nearly $2000 for labor - which seems pretty ridiculous. Alright, I lived with it. I got my car back nearly a week later (I dropped it off 8 am Monday morning, didn't get it back til 5 pm on Friday) and they had taken the steering wheel off the car and replaced it at the wrong angle. HOW DO YOU PUT A STEERING WHEEL BACK ON WITHOUT NOTICING IT ISN'T ON RIGHT?! The horn didn't work, the buttons didn't work, and the airbag sign was on constantly. So I brought it back and it took them 3 hours to just connect the wheel back to the ... Read more

wow if you read all of the reviews in order its like a ping pong match. who is really writing this stuff? looks like a bunch of people at work mad at each other, for every bad review there is a rebuttal that swings the other way. shows how reliable city search is. i guess the only way to find out would be from personal experience. but it is more creepy that they would bash each other like this on a site that is supposed to be for us consumers.. very childish....makes you wonder....??????? i guess if your reading these reviews you just need to read between the lines.... and figure out the ones that are real and the ones that are just mad ex employees or people that still work there???? weird would make me nervous just considering the rants....

saying I would have to wait in line after the other 10 clipboards he had hung up on the wall were completed in about 2 or 3 hours, I could tell it was a lie, so I said "Oh I can wait 2 or 3 hours in the wait room" and he stopped me to say that's just an estimate a.k.a "I was lying it's going to take forever" and in the middle of our conversation cut me off and began a cheerful conversation with a woman that was walking in about an oil change that would take 30 minutes. Basically this garage doesn't car about anyone's time, you'll most definitely have to leave your cAR OR RETURN THE NEXT DAY (atleast), they lie, make you drop your car off all day and start work while you are gone w/o giving the price, and then has an attitude when you come back about your unfinished car, not giving any sympathy and placing you back at the bottom of the 5 day waiting list. They are also independent so there's no line or anything to call, you just have to complain to the manager that is responsible for th... Read more

Well guys, i happen to know someone who worked there very well.so i'll start at the top and make my way down. The owner weighs in at about 400 lbs , comes in around 10 am yells at everybody for not working hard enough then goes to his office and sits on his butt. The manager , while having some really good people skills is also a skilled liar. yes it is true, some jobs are completed correctly and on time, thus you have 50 percent saying they are a good shop, The other 50 percent are screwed, cars are sent out the door, knowing that there are problems with them, and when they come back, they charge the customer again, for a "different" problem. They dont want a car to stay overnight because then it it not billed and put on that days ticket. The reason they are so busy is not because of their skill, its because of their location. any shop would do well there. For those that have had problems... The only way to shut them down is to complain. Here is one place, but if they screwed you h... Read more

I took my car in to get new brake pads in October 2007. They were barely squeeking at the time, but the brakes squeeked worse after I took it in. So I took the car in again, and they "fixed" it for free. After the second visit, the car began wobblling/pulsating when I stepped on the brakes. Each time I took it in, it got worse! During the third visit, they said I needed new rotors. Why they didn't realize this during one of the first two visits, I don't know. I left the car with them all day, and I call \ed to be sure it was done before I went to pick it up. They told me it was done,. But when I got there, they hadn't even received the correct set of rotors. I had to wait 30 minutes for them to tell me to come back again the next day so they could get the right part in. Even though I was ready to move on, I took it back again -- for a third time. They supposedly gave me new rotots, but now it's squeeking and wobbling even more than ever. My conclusion - these guys don't know what the h... Read more

I am a student at Vanderbilt and my parents live away. It takes me 14 hours to drive home. The Red Ball Garage keeps my car in great condition. My father does not have to be concerned that my car will break down when I drive home alone. I recommend them to anyone that has to make a road trip home. Go Commadores!

I use the services of Red Ball Garage and have been very satisfied. I found about the garage from a co-worker. Now I recommend them to everyone. I have found if you take your car in the afternoon it does take longer to get it back. I take it eary in the morning usually on my way to work. They have taken me to work and picked me up when the car is ready. I would take into consideration the garage is a good one since it stays busy.

i have been using this garage for 3 years and have never had problems, as with any good garage they fill up quickly with work, maybe the day that you were there they were packed as usual, i know that i have experienced this also. but if you think that a busy garage that cant get you in is a bad thing than why are they so busy. its like a restaraunt you sure wouldnt go to one at noon that had nobody there... i have to say that this garage prides itself in quality parts and service and has always took the extra step to make sure my car was cared for be it an oil change or a major repair, maybe you were just upset that things didnt go quickly, apparently you have never had much in the way of car repairs done before and think that they can change oil in 10 minutes, if that is your expectation than maybe you need to use a quick oil change store not a repair garage that would build a confidence for all your repair needs. also i have never been treated like a bum off the street, maybe again ... I got an oil change there and for the second time they forgot to rotate the tires. They finished it so late in the day that they told me I would have to return the following day to have them do it.

Red Ball Garage might help you out if you have an expensive service, but even then I do not trust them. I have been there several times in the last few years. Once when I spent around $400 they were nice and courteous. The next three times for oil changes they treated me like a bum off the street. The manager sold me one of those discount cards they sell around Christmas which is good for 4 oil changes. It sells for $30 and is a great deal. They don't tell you that it will be nearly impossible to get your car in for the oil changes though. Each time I have brought it in right around when they open but barely got it back that day. One time they totally forgot to rotate the tires. I would not recommend this garage to anyone.

Here back in January "07", I had my front brake bads and roters replaced. 3 mths later and my brakes are still squeaking and scrubbing worse than they were beforehand. I have taken my vehicle back on several occasions, and I keep getting the run around. They have gotten my car in to make some adjustments to my services, hoping that it would take care of the problem. "WRONG ANSWER" it only made things worse. Each time they said that my car was riding better. But, before I got on the main street (less than a min. away) my brakes were doing the same thing. It's really an inconveince to keep taking my car back and not getting the right thing done. Everytime I go I have to leave my car, or wait for a long time, and I don't deem that necessary. I'm there to get services that I have ALREADY PAID FOR. I shouldn't have to wait. It should have been fixed right the first time. After going and getting a second opinion, I found out that I need new roters, and the brake pads that they put on my car... Read more

In this day and time it's rare to find a repair shop of any kind that dosen't mind tackleing almost anything that's wrong with your car! Great attitude, atmosphere, and they fixed my car right the first time. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. The oil change card I bought is a super deal. A great find for a woman who dosen't know much about her car.
