I have a friend who has been telling me about this place and how great their classes are. She said their instructors made the classes very enlightening. Educating her about the best ways to work out. So from what I hear it is a great place to do pilates. I also found a deal for three mat classes there. It is suppose to be $75, but online I found it for just $37.50! Go online to halfoffdepot and go to their new york section. Check it out....

As a newcomer to the word of Pilates, and exercise in general, I am extremely pleased with my new addiction and have no plans for recovery! re:AB! The atmosphere at the studio is friendly and welcoming, fostered by a helpful staff. The equipment is well spaced so you are a comfortable distance from others. The instructors ask appropriate questions and proceed accordingly. They are motivating and innovative. You can try different instructors without missing a beat. They have a team approach and don't contradict each other. This is very helpful to a newbie! The continuity of care makes me a true believer in the Pilates method. Brooke is clearly at the top of her game! The results speak for themselves!

Have been going to re:AB since its inception 11 years ago and have witnessed its growth in size, professionalism, and innovations. Have worked out with a varietry of instructors over the years and all have been dedicated, focused, attentive. I always enjoy my sessions, and feel energized when they are over. I have had only one complaint and that had to do with some plumbing that was faulty, but I do believe that got fixed now......I recommend a workout with Brooke Siler, the owner, if the opportunity arises. She is the best! PS I started doing Pilates in 1969 after my second daughter was born. I am seventy years old. I bike, hike, ski and know my Pilates training has helped me in all these pursuits and in my everyday activities.

If you're looking at this studio, it's probably because of brooke siler's celebrity buzz but don't expect either brooke or celebrities. There's a bulletin board with press clippings, though. Don't expect particularly good pilates either, especially if you're a guy. I'm not sure about all the warm fuzzies on this site -- did someone ask the staff to start posting? -- but my experience was of a middling workout at best. Not worth the money. Real Pilates in tribeca is a much better choice, and U can even sign up for classes online. Don't waste time here.

I am a fairly new client at re:AB, but I am sure I will be there life long. What I love about re:AB is the wonderful atmosphere, no matter what shape or what personality you will fit in here. It is a family studio where the instructors are highly skilled and willing to treat you like an honest best friend. The staff is remarkable considering the sometimes quite complicated clients they encounter. Most of all I recommend this studio to any one considering continuing Pilates or in the mood to try something new. Pilates has brightened my outlook on life, myself, and my passions in life. Thank you re:AB!

I have been going to re:AB for over three years- taking private sessions and duets- and I have had nothing short of an amazing experience there. Not only have the teachers and front desk staff been helpful and supportive, I have made several friends among the other clients. I have been to gyms, yoga studios, other Pilates studios, but none compare to re:AB in terms of instruction (which offers innovative uses of weights, exerciseballs and magic circles) but also customer care. I'm not sure what happened to the posters below, but I've only ever had a few mishaps with the desk and scheduling- all of which were dealt with in a very professional manner--even when I was the one who wrote my name on the wrong class sheet! oops!

I'm a more recent client of reAB's, having only been there for about 5 months - but I go 2-3 times a week and have yet to encounter any scheduling issues or absentee teachers. The receptionists are always friendly and the workouts are really the best I've had. I've been to a few other studios around the city, some of which are highly rated here but shouldn't be, and in my experience reAB has been the best all-around experience. I think it would be unrealistic to expect things to be perfect anywhere but its really how a company handles the problems that count. I know 2 other clients at reAB, that's how I found it, and they've had nothing but great service too. Anyway reAB has been around for like 10 years and it's always busy so I'm sure they wouldn't be so popular if they were so horrible at customer service. Hopefully the people below have moved on to other studios as my favorite part of reAB is the positive energy there. Keep up the good work guys!

Just checking in to let users know that I have been to ReAb on NUMEROUS ocasions in the past several years and have never had a single problem. The staff is friendly and always courteous but like anywhere if you walk in grumpy they get your vibe and they do their best to accomodate and try to make you feel good about coming to the studio. Funny thing is I read "Jenniferstimsons" review below and notice she likes to negatively review places (see her other reviews) but does not praise anyone or place?!?!?!!? Anyway, ReAb is great. There is a warm and wonderful feeling to the studio and an eager and VERY knowledgable staff. They try to make you work hard, smile, laugh and leave with a positive outlook about feeling and looking great! Love the vibe and the instruction. Don't let the naysayers bring you down. Try it yourself and decide. I think you'll be quite pleased. Kudos to Brooke and her staff. Oh yeah, I did have a schedulinjg problem one time only. Probably as much my fault as any... Read more

Re:AB has a lovely physical space and some good instructors (mixed bag, but where isn't?). The booking staff, however, is a disaster. Don't count on your instructor actually being there for your appointment -- or, indeed, your appointment being recorded at all. As for payment, let's just say it took 5 telephone calls to my bank and 4 to the studio -- which repeatedly failed to call me back -- to reverse several thousand dollars worth of accidental charges. The "buzz" in the locker rooms is all about these constant errors; every student of re:AB seems to have a story. Is it any surprise that most of the best instructors have left within the past year or are about to leave?

i've been doing pilates for a couple of years and i decided to try re ab . it is undoubtedly a 'serious' pilates studio and all the instructors well trained . However some of the instructors are downright rude. Emily in particular is very aloof. They are bossy instructors who make you feel almost inadaquate, I am a dedicated student but these instructors on the exception of Aby and Mimosa have no humour in them whatsoever and are very serious, I wanted to say " lighten up ", You can still dedicate a serious pilates practice and enjoy it at the same time.

I?ve had a serious back condition for most of my life, which was the result of an early high school sports accident. It?s rare when I?m not in great pain. I have avoided surgery and other disruptive treatment for years. I was introduced to Brooke Siler, the founder of re:AB pilates studio, a few years ago. Brooke is one of the brightest and most professional, trainers I have ever met. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about Pilates, but she takes that extra time to truly understand her client?s physical and emotional needs, before she designs a program for them. After my first session with Brooke, I left her studio with a smile from ear to ear, as I had not felt pain free, and so physically aligned for years. Each successive session with Brooke was more powerful than the previous. I want to thank Brooke, and her wonderful team of trainers, for changing my life. Pilates is now an integral part of my every day living. David Relis

Brooke Siler is an amazing person and a very knowledgeable trainer of Pilates. The popularity of her studio and of her bestselling books are a testament to her skills, professionalism and ability to make Pilates accessible. She has the rare ability to truly understand the clients needs and to teach to that. I highly recommend Brooke and AB Studios.

Brooke Siler has nurtured her staff and created an incredible overall experience ReAb. The studio itself is appealing and warm, lit gently and with plenty of open space it still maintains a private feeling and inviting atmosphere. The teachers and staff are both accomodating and knowledgable as well as eager to instruct and at the same time are relaxed and extremely capable and well trained. Many are trained by Brooke herself. The experience has been a great one for me. I have been attending group classes weekly for more than a year and often partake in private or duet classes which are superb. Although any of the teachers will give you a great workout and teach you an amazing amount about your mind set, abailty, strength, flexability etc., I highly recommend you take a few classes with Brooke herself. Her attention to detail and body awareness is unparalled and her enthusiasm addictive... PS - guys, get off your high horse and go try Pilates. Its better than almost any other "gym ... Read more

I am totally addicted to this studio. There is no comparison to other "watered down" versions. The attention to my personal issues was better than a week in therapy. Totally stellar operation!

I have been impressed with Brooke Siler for years, watching her on various morning shows etc..but always too lazy/busy/tired to sign myself up. After 2 babies in 2 years-I NOW find the time to escape to re:AB and have found my sanctuary. The studio is beautiful and clean, the staff is helpful going above and beyond, and I enjoy working out for the first time in my life! I owe this all to Brooke and her amazing staff. I have developed a bad back after the 2 babies and she takes the time checking there is no strain or pain and I see the results in my shape and my back! GO GO GO to re:AB

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Brooke Siler, the author of one of the best-selling Pilates books: The Pilates Body, has created a first-rate studio. Personally, the most important factor in determining which studio to attend is the quality of the teachers. As Brooke is passionately devoted to her craft, she has begun training the next generation of Pilates instructors. As a result, many of the teachers at re:AB have studied directly under Brooke and your session with them will reflect the high standards she expects.

I've been going to re:AB *at least* once a week for about a year now. I have tried several different studios and methods around the city, but I just plain love re:AB's authentic approach and the vibe that it cultivates. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and motivating. Personally, I look and *feel* different from my time spent there. And if you are a person who thinks Pilates is some sort of dainty, girly exercise, I challenge you to one appointment with Brooke herself. Hands down the best teacher/trainer that I have come across in my years in New York.

I found the intructors to be very connected and clear. The quiet atmosphere allowed me to focus and really connect with my work. A job well done at creating a space for mind body connection in such a hectic city. I highly recommend this studio for a real Pilates workout. Added bonus the front desk was helpful and very friendly.

re:AB is the best place for pilates in Manhattan and I've trained at a number of them. At re:AB the feeling is comfortable from the moment you walk in the door and there are trainers for all levels, prices and personalities. There are lots of reformers and apparatus to work out on so you can always get an appointment at a time convenient for you. Whatever your physical ability, and whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced in Pilates, re:AB will provide a stellar experience in a lovely studio.

I had read a lot about Brooke Siler's studio in magazines but never took the time to make an appointment. Maybe I thought it would be intimidating. Now I'm kicking myself for not coming sooner. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the workout was amazing. I have never worked so hard in a pilates session in my life...and I've tried other places so I know the difference. Something about reAB Pilates was different and I'm not sure if it's the great staff or high quality of teachers but whatever it is I'm definitely staying. I'm already halfway through a pilates package and am still excited for my next session. Yea Brooke! Thank you!

I recently started going to re:AB after an 8 months hiatus (I moved uptown with my wife and baby). While I pumped and did Pilates in some of the most respected studios in the West 50s and the Upper East Side, only re:AB produces a workput that makes me sweat, stretch, and keep my muscles primed. I finetune with privates once a week (Emma, Bettina, Brittany, Jeremy) and take one or two Mat/Tower and WundaChair classes after work. The re:AB difference is in the instructors' attention to detail: anyone teach an exercise-they care about my body. Oh, and the duet classes feel closer to a private than privates at other Authentic Pilates Studios. Its well-trained apprentices may be the biggest bargain in NY. I am looking as good as I did a year ago. My body at 35 is better than ANY of my grad school friends. Brooke Siler has created the best studio in NY.. My wife is back as well. re:AB is worth the trip.

With so many Pilates studios in the city, you never know what you are going to get. re:AB Pilates delivers! They have the best instructors around and a great front desk staff. You will feel like part of a community of great people.

I've done Pilates at thirty different studios in Manhattan and Brooklyn. re:AB has the best combination of skilled, interested, enthusiastic instructors and great atmosphere out of all of them. They have a small instructor training program producing excellent teachers, a talented, well-trained staff all with extensive experience and a casual, living-room like feel without sacrificing professionalism. Their class schedule is filled with options for all levels and only continues to expand. I've been there for six years now, tried others, and always come back to re:AB. Let your instructors know what you need and want from your sessions and they will always help you out and answer your questions. Go there. I recommend it very highly.

This place is great, the atmosphere, great location, and the staff was really freindly until I had a personal session with the master trainer. She is not for beginners. I almost wanted to end the session within the first five mintues of her putting me down. Obviously if someone is a beginner than their technique will not be perfect, and who better to help you than a master, I was wrong she made me feel that I was not worth her time, and I should have been for $90. So beginners beware!!!!!

While I have only visited this beautiful studio I can say that of all the ones I've gone to (and that's a lot of them!) this one has the best, warmest, friendliest vibe. The staff were unbelievably nice and helpful, the decor was comfortable and inviting and I could tell by the clients' sweat that the workouts were intense. My friend is a devotee of reAB bleecker Street and she swears by their teaching so I had to see for myself. I've now taken a some sessions at Brooke's new studio on 21st street and I see what the fuss is all about...they are as good as everyone says. True professionals with a knack for making you feel great inside and out. Definitely worth the reputation.

This is the only pilates studio you should go to if you're in the city, the instructors are well qualified and teaches the RIGHT way to do pilates.. all other instructors elsewhere are AMATUERS! To get a head start in learning the basics i recommend getting started in re:AB. Everyone's super friendly and each class feels like a one-on-one training session, personal attention is huge here! I'm standing taller and my abs are flatter, its the best!

The Scene There's nothing clinical about this rehabilitative studio, despite plenty of therapeutic equipment and staff members who can trace direct lineages to the late Contrology originator. Radiating a warm vibe, the plant-accented Soho space unfolds like a health-minded communal home: The retail foyer branches off to a daisy chain of workout spaces, where dividing walls separate but never fully enclose. The Workout A devout follower of Pilates' disciple Romana Kryzanowska, Re: AB founder Brooke Siler is well-schooled in the athletic method she preaches so enthusiastically. She can quote chapter and verse from Joseph Pilates' texts and is eager to demonstrate a move to support her fitness ideology. Not afraid to think outside the box, she's also crafted a cardio routine that incorporates the master's teachings while honoring her own passions. That ardent ingenuity has earned her top placement in health magazines time and time again.

I've been a client at re:AB for over a year now, and they are just wonderful. Every single teacher there is so knowledgable and friendly, the studio space is very calm and comfortable, and everybody really works together to make sure that you have the best experience possible. This is by far the best Pilates instruction in the city, without a doubt.
