I looooove Ranma 1/2. I only started watching it because it was by the same person who created InuYasha which is another of my favorites. I could not believe it - I loved it from the very first episode, and I can't stop watching it. I'm obsessed, and I recommend this to everyone who wants to watch a funny show that also absolutely adorable!

THIS SHOW NEEDS A BETTER RATING! You mofos out there do NOT know how to rate your anime! This show starts all the anime lovers well. From the great Rumiko Takahashi, this show was one of her earliest, and the BEST. INUYASHA CAN'T TOP THIS, AND I WILL SEE TO IT! THE MUSIC IS GRAND, THE CHARACTERS ARE BEAUTIFUL, AND YOU WILL BE LAUGHING HARD!

How many other animes have temperature dependant genders? The only problem is the ending for all of the seasons....STUNK!

this anime is awesome, Ranma is cool the best Martial Artist around, Shampoo, Ukyo Kuonji, Nabiki Tendo, and Kasumi Tendo are hot (no I'm not going to say the female Ranma is hot), Mousse, Ryoga Hibiki and Akane Tendo are ok I wish I could see the anime but I only have the Manga's. Not only is it cool its funny as hell!

I have yet to enjoy the animated series, but I have read the Scanlation of Rumiko Takahashi's manga. ALL 36 (or was it 38) volumes! AMAZING. I loved the story and for anyone with some time to kill, I suggest you pick some up... Or download. Whichever.

A very popular Rumiko Takahashi manga and concurrently a very popular anime all the way to the last OVA in 1996. Spanning two (or three depending on your viewpoint) movies, seven seasons and 13 OVAs Ranma is the storied tales of the ventures of one Ranma Saotome with a penchant for transforming into a girl whenever cold water is thrust upon him. Similarily his various friends and family are also stricken with different forms of this affliction, some turning into ducks, pandas, cats etc. High points of this series would be (for me) the crazy romances going on, particularly Mousse's continual attempts to date Shampoo (yes Takahashi names all her chinese characters after cosmetics, I don't know why) producing such segments as Shampoo, will you go out with me?, Shampoo busy with deliveries now, Will you go out with me AFTER you've finished your deliveries?. This anime has always been a particular element of fan focus for me and I dearly hope it will one day continue. As kamylienne pointed ... Read more

This is an excellent anime, if you're into the comedic types of anime; it's about a guy named Ranma who accidentally falls into a cursed spring which transformed him . . . kind of. When splashed with hot (or cold, I forgot) water, he turns into a she! He's in good company--his dad turns into a panda, his directionally-challenged arch enemy turns into a pig, and one of the girls who has a crush on him turns into a cat! Very cute stories, with martial-arts EVERYTHING (from ice skating to food delivery, there's a martial arts competition for it!). It's not for everyone, but I personally recommend it.
