Just want to add to this shop's unique approach to floral design. And what a lovely disply of flowers that lasts and lasts! I tried to call various shop mid-week prior to Mother's Day: Watanabe said no guarantee that it could get there before Mother's Day, Florist Grand laughed in my face, and Fujikami tried to sell me a gourmet gift basket costing somewhere near $200. I finally called Rainforest because the name sounded interesting. After reading the many positive reviews, I said I'd try one last time. The guy on the phone was very helpful and offered several suggestions. I was thinking of a deep dark red and dark pink. He said he could make a dark red rose and pink peony. That sounded nice so I decided on a nice big one. The morning on Saturday before Mother's Day, I got a pleasant call from my mom with excitement in her voice so I was thrilled. The roses were very dark ruby red and the peonies a soft bubble gum pink. I got a call on Tuesday that her peonies were fully opened and how... Read more

I had ordered my mother some flowers and after reading so many positive reviews about this store, I had to give it a try. My first impression was that this was a designer store with a designer name. But after talking about the flower expertise with the owner of the store, I felt reassured that I was making a wise investment. The guy suggested a rather high priced arrangement but assured me that it would be full of splendid flowers an never carnations, mums or baby's breath. And what a pleasant surprise I got when he sent me a photo of the arrangement and my mother was overwhelmed with the colors and size of her arrangement that she also sent me a photo of it herself! My first impression was that the image I got from the florist was just a stock image but what a pleasant surprise that it was the actual arrangement sent to my mother. She called me the other day and said her arrangement was still lovely and she is was just amazed at how much water the flowers took up. She sent me the phot... Read more

I needed to send flowers to my mother for Mother's Day and I know it was a last minute attempt but we just got back from our European vacation and after all the kids was settled, I decided to try to do the impossible. The first two tries through yelp turned out to be a waste of time. Then I tried Citysearch and came down to three top choices. Of the last of my three choices was Rainforest. A florist with an attractive name. I called and their lines were busy as I got a voice mail, so I said what the heck, I'll leave my name and number and give it a try. I continued to call others on the list but the phone just rang or I got a busy signal. I noticed that my cell had a voice mail and it was a call-back from Rainforest. A gentleman said he could help me out and if I'd call back or email since the phones were very busy that day. Any way, to make a long story short, we decided to get mom a bouquet of flowers. She received the flowers some two hours after I placed the order and I won't boas... Read more

Looking for a florist to give my honey something special was not hard to find. The women at the office all unanimously said RAINFOREST. A client said she only uses RAINFOREST for special occasions. My best friend's daughter said if I had any smarts, I would just go to RAINFOREST. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a nice older Asian lady who said hello to me and was busy unpacking flowers in the rear of the store. Another young lady came out and politely said if I needed anything, please don't hesitate to ask. I said I wanted to order some flowers. She referred me to this bald gentleman who asked me first off is this for Valentine's Day and I said yes. Then went on to say that they could make a red rose but suggested perhaps something more unique. The unique caught my attention and everyone else in the room smiled. My next question was what her birth sign or birthday was. I said I don't want a birthday arrangement, but something romantic for Valentines. He explained that ... Read more

My daughter just gave birth to our first grandchild and she received many flowers from so many of our friends and relatives. Out of all the arrangements she received just one stood out. This arrangement came from Rainforest. What a jewel it was. She had a baby boy and the colors were beautifully crafted in deep purples, dark blues and lime green with touches of rust. Even the presentation of it in a clear glass vase said "classy" when you saw it. This arrangement was sent from my daughter's friend from high school and it was the only arrangements next to her bedside as the rest were on teh floor. She had some that looked like sticks of bamboo, others were a sea of baby's breath and so many that were poor attempts of this Rainforest arrangement. I later also discovered that my daughter received more arrangements at home and one of them, a Rainforest bouquet. It was so different than the first, and you know what, the original was till beautiful with everything fully bloomed out with sta... Read more

A friend referred me to this store and although I couldn't find anything on them, I liked the name and decided to give them a try. My girlfriend travels to Honolulu often and works for long periods of time. Our long distance relationship can be grueling but there's one thing my girl loves is fresh flowers. She used to get them from Florist Grand but after she started getting some from Rainforest she just flipped out of her mind. She would even describe each one and take photos on her iPhone and email them to me telling me that she'd love to get one exactly like that for this day and then when she got another surprise from me, she'd say that this is now her favorite piece. I was amazed how rapidly their deliveries are done, almost VIP in speed, accuracy and design. After having spent hundreds of dollars from FG, it was more affordable getting flowers from Rainforest. Their minimum is $85 and many looked better than ones I spent a $150 on from other places. The flowers are fresh, sent... Read more

I called to order flowers for a grand opening store for a friend who opened her shop in a busy area of town. I had read good reviews of this shop on the internet and decided to give it a try. The designer asked many questions before making a suggestion of what he was planning to do. His suggestions all sounded like he knew the store and even the designer, so I left it up to him. I got a call from my friend who received the flowers and she said that the flowers just made the store and she had received about a dozen arrangements from a dozen different florists and they all looked identical to one another, except the one from Rainforest was so outstanding that she used it in place of the flowers she had ordered herself for the store. Everyone who entered the store commented on the display flowers she had in the window and many had asked where it came from. I also used Rainforest for a birthday for this same person and again he had asked a bunch of questions, most notably what birth sig... Read more

When you first venture into this quaint little shop, you're greeted with a friendly gesture and they sort of have an intuition of what you're seeking. They quickly express options and have a back floral storage where they keep all their limited and unusual materials for their arrangements. Their front refrigerator had an excellent selection of things like a wide assortment of large headed roses, many of which I have never seen before. They boasted five different kinds (I mean different forms not just colors) of Hydrangeas, fancy lilies, colored callas in a variety of colors, garden roses, peonies (I ended up getting these for Thanksgiving hostess gifts), orchids, gerbera daisies so big they looked artificial, and proteas, and so on. Just coming from Fujikami Florist, Honolulu Florist and Beretania Florist, I was amazed that Rainforest had flowers that neither of these carried, yet all three carried pretty much all the same flowers and looks. Rainforest even carried over twenty differe... Read more

I frequently call Honolulu to order flowers for my mother when she visits there and stays with a friend. A friend here in California suggested that I give Rainforest a try. I really liked the name and just thought of them the next time I needed flowers. I got the number for their store from the numerous good reviews I saw on this site. They're not easy to find so I had to keep their number in my cell phone for easy retrieval. My mother just loves flowers and all kinds of flowers. I called Rainforest to inquire about their arrangements and was further lead onto their site which had glorious photos of so many flowers that I couldn't imagine that they all came from the same place. For the first arrangement, I gave my mom a mixed arrangement of orchids, lilies and fancy garden roses. This came to about a hundred dollars. I hesitated for a moment for the price then just did it because I had so much work ahead of me to do. I received a call from my mother expressing how beautiful the ar... Read more

I called last minute for a special wrist corsage for my daughter's last minute notice event. She needed to have a purple and green flower color and I knew Rainforest would be able to do it. I discussed the possibilities with the designer, Michael over the phone and after he suggested over ten options, I just left it up to him. When I picked up the wrist corsage, I was amazed how beautiful he made it. Just as I was about to view his other arrangements, I soon was choking to death. Michael gave me a bottled water and after drinking it, I was back to normal. He refused to accept money for the water as I offered to pay for it. He saved my daughter's life as well as mine. Now that is a super florist!

I am a regular flower buyer and always try and keep fresh flowers in my home. I have purchased flowers from KCC open market with big disappointments. Anthuriums only lasting a few days. Rainforest anthuriums arrive fresh weekly and I have kept them lasting for three weeks! I have purchased gerbera daisies, roses and assorted flowers from Whole Foods only to be disappointed by having them last less than two days. Until I shopped at Rainforest, I didn't realize these flowers could last so long. I used to believe that flowers lasted for just two days or less. Now I buy everything from Rainforest and have been amazed at how long they can last. Gerbera daisies lasting well over two weekends, roses lasting as long as fifteen days, mixed flower bouquets lasting close to three weeks. I have read that their arrangements are to die for. I don't know of anywhere else where you can select from so many varieties of flowers than at Rainforest. They seem to carry all of the colors that are unusua... Read more

I'm the kind of shopper that don't know what I want. Walking into Rainforest was a sensory experience. It smelled lovely and visually stunning. Interesting photography on the walls, well designed and functional florist. Staff is friendly and easy going, with a goal to please. Talk about a "green" store, Rainforest is the greenest of them all. Recycled boxes converted into art forms for you to carry out your arrangements safely and without spillage in your car. I've never seen anyone else wrap a lei and roses in ti leaf like they do. When I gave my flowers to my recipient, she was thrilled after receiving many numerous cello wrapped roses and sported lots of leis. In the end, she carried my ti leaf wrapped roses leaving all the cello wrapped ones on the table. I was thrilled. They also start early and I have used them when needing that special small arrangement for my secretary at 7 in the morning. They will also custom create a look based on the recipient's birth sign/date. I was ama... Read more

I needed a special flower arrangement for my mom for Mother's Day. The usual florist which I have been doing business with for the past ten years said they no longer do Mother's Day any more. Being stunned from their stand not to do Mother's Day, I frantically called several florists until I came across the nice reviews I read here. All of them said they could not help me, but Rainforest said they could but would charge more for having extra delivery people on that day. I said my mother was worth it and I decided to go with them spending about $50 more than I would normally spend. To my surprise, my mom called me early Sunday to say she received the flowers and she loved the composition of the piece. She just sounded really thrilled. I was so glad that she was happy. About four days later, I got an email from her with a photo of the arrangement she had gotten and it showed every flower in full bloom. I was amazed how large the arrangement was since her arrangements in the past h... Read more

Finding a good flower shop these days is difficult. With so many shops being succumb to mass flower sales in super markets, open markets and trucking vendors, it is ice to know that when you visit Rainforest you can always get something different that doesn't make you look like you dropped into Safeway and get a generic bunch of flowers. Their packaging is unique and always draws attention when I'm walking with them, they have a good set up with excellent parking and easy location. Not your florist if you are just wanting carnations and baby's breath, but chocolate roses, calla lilies, fragrant gardenias, exotic tropicals and much more. Plus they have ready to go arrangements from $25 and up. They will pack them for safe car travel and provide free enclosure cards and envelopes. Check out their website so full of useful information and photos: rainforesthawaii. Can't say enough good things about them. They speak English as their first language, no translation mix-ups/issues like some ... Read more

After speaking with several florists on the phone, I had experienced poor communication skills, kept me holding for more than five minutes, or couldn't understand basic English until I called Rainforest. I was surprised at how familiar they were with their stock on hand. It wasn't just a dozen varieties but dozens of varieties in each category, some much more. They had flowers I have never heard about. I was so bedazzled that I just left it up to them. When the recipient called to thank me, she told me that she had received over fifteen arrangements and she only kept two of them in her office. The two arrangements both came from Rainforest and were so different from one another, unlike another large florist that sent two identical arrangements to her from two different senders. She had already told her receptionist that they will be using Rainforest exclusively from now on. She also called the florist to thank them and was further educated about their business and how they are rea... Read more

This is the first time I have written a review. I have ordered flowers delivered many times from different vendors, and the people at Rainforest do an exceptionally good job. The flower arrangements are creatively designed, promptly delivered, and last a long time. Their customer service is excellent - they send a picture of the arrangement in email and fax the receipt. They are really friendly and helpful. Love them!
