I live in a temperate rainforest. I hate rain. I should move. My problem is that I hate cold even more, and any move within my country (Canada, for those of you keeping score at home) means frigid winters.

Before you discount this review, check the date on the other reviews.... quite a long time ago. I just came back from Vegas, and I must say that this was a horrible club. The DJ missed so many beats when he mixed the songs that it became ridiculous. Plus, the song selection was horrible. Also, because of the way they set up their speakers, there was no quiet area to talk with people. It had a horrible vibe, a horrible DJ and the worse ambiance that I've seen in Vegas. I should have known there was something wrong when we walked in at midnight and the club was half empty. Avoid this club, and stay on the strip.

What a great time I had at Rain a few months back. We had an event there for our company and it was awesome. If you are looking for a place that is high energy and the view is breath taking, I recommend Rain at the Palms. You will have a great time and the people are very friendly John

we got lucky and were invited to sit with some guys who had table service.that made the night even more fun..we had a cabana overlooking the dance floor, the music was good, the energy of the place was great.the best night i had in Vegas was at this place. i am sure if we didint have bottle service it would get annoying though..the palms is the best!

In Short Outside, the scene is chaos--swarms of starry-eyed tourists and well-connected locals jockey for position in one of many poorly defined lines. The club is a deceptively large 25,000 square feet, but the main room's relatively small, elevated dance floor steals the show. Accessible via two drawbridges, it features elaborate water displays, pyrotechnics, fog clouds and overhead lighting, which oscillates to the ferocious beats of house, hip-hop and Top-40 mixes.

I wouldn't recommend this club to anyone. I wasted $500 at this club! Their security doesn't do their job, I was physically harassed in their club and then my boyfriend was assaulted....even though I dropped $500 on a table and bottle of grey goose in VIP (security didn't do anything). They're security is a joke....if you are a beautiful girl (or your girlfriend is) don't go to RAIN!!!! They let ANYONE in. This club did not treat us the way that the other, more upscale, clubs in Vegas did!

This place is way to hyped up. The club set up is cool but it absolutly ridiculous how long you have to wait in line for this place. This is probably the longest club line in Vegas I waited in. By the time you get to the front of the line you tired and pretty much over the whole thing. It is really not worth the wait.

This place is crazy. I don't know how long I would have waited in line if I wouldn't have been with several good looking girls. I did talk to several guys who waited an hour and a half. Once we were inside there were so many people you can barely move around. I didn't even attempt to get on the dance floor. Lots of hot hot women. I think that I would go back if we got bottle service. I am to old (27) to stand in line at the bar all night only to lose my voice screaming my drink order.

Crowd is a little pretentious, but otherwise not bad. Drinks are slightly pricey. Lots of room to roam.

An expensive cover and long line, but it's fun when the dry ice rains over the dance floor. If you're a girl, I recommend bringing a guy to shield you from randoms, or try to get friendly with a group of dudes that have ordered bottle service.

A friend suggested the place since they had gone there for their vegas trip. We got there before it opened without knowing so the bouncer told us to come back. By the time we came back (30 minutes later), the line was ridiculousy long and we somehow got into the "guestlist" line on accident. My agressive friend somehow managed to get us in through the bouncer even though we weren't on the guestlist. The place is cool but I don't suggest going to the bathroom unless you want to tip the ladies in there every single time, get your own napkins and sign on with napkingnights for the guestlist. =)

We (a group of 6 cute ladies) went to rain on Thursday of Labor Day weekend, around 11:30. We dressed sexy, but not vulgar. We were immediately given VIP passes, all access, no cover, and let into the club. It was crowded, but not crazy, with a decent mix of men/women. Lots of attractive people of both sexes. The club was very fun, even with the tight dance space, and on a Thursday night people were relaxed and not trying too hard to be cool. I imagine that by Saturday, though, this place would have gotten extremely crowded, uptight, and much less fun. The management outside probably would have been much less friendly. For a good time, go to the most popular clubs on a less popular night. It will still be crowded and fun, without the hassle.

ok so there was over a 3 hour wait, thankfully there was a bar in the hotel so we could drink while we waited. We were 10 girls but the bouncer didn't seem to care. Then when we finally got in, there was nowhere to move and we were surrounded by the rauchiest people I have ever seen in my life. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Yes, the line is 2-3 hours long and yes it gets ridiculously crowded inside once the clock strikes 12 and you practically have to attack the crowd to get a drink. All of this is true but it is such a Vegas experience. The energy is incredible. Half the fun is trying to get in. This is definitely a singles spot. If you can't hook up at Rain, you might as well go home. The flirting is shameless. If you are a girl make sure to flash those pearly whites to get somoeone else to buy you an over-priced drink. If you are a guy, come packing because drinks are minimum $10 a pop.

This place was pure hype with little delivery. The line was long, but that was fine. Entering the club through the tunnel was cool. At first, the space itself was solid. BUT, the small, elevated dance floor was crowded and HOT. Flames shooting out of the ceiling raised the temps to unbearable levels. And someone decided to have only two bridges over water as access to the floor. Why is there a moat in a dance club? Someone fell in while we were there and security jumped on him and ran him out the door. Weird. By 11:30, the place was too crowded to dance or move, so we bounced. Ra on Thursdays or Rio any time is a lot more fun. Rain gets the pub, but it's highly overrated.

I'm from NY and it's so hard to find a club that still pumps trance, techno, jungle, etc.. if you want hip hop go to RA. It's also better to get your drink on before gettin there unless you don't mind spending $100 easy on just yourself. As for the ladies, mostly stuck up females from LA, but easy to make friends.

Rain is not all that on regular weekend nights, unless those Pimp N Ho guys are throwing a party there. Then you get creme de la creme people. Otherwise, it's a typical club atmosphere. Dance floor is a tad small. Girls are not bad. Stripper quality. Don't get caught up in all the hype and think you're getting anything exceptional for paying $20 to get in and another $15 for a drink. I would suggest to go just to say you've been.

I really wanted to like this club; I read all the negative reviews on Cityseach and figured it wold be different for me. It wasn't. I knew to expect a long line and lots of crowds, and that's exactly what I got, INCLUDING a too-packed dance floor, overpriced drinks and a terrible atomsphere. Line moved relatively fast, we waited for under an hour without any special VIP passes (from cab driver or otherwise); but movement inside the club was limited-you have to keep walking with the crowd in a circle, or duck into an obscure back corner. This place has so much potential-too bad the owners are more concerned about making a buck than limiting the number of people they let in!

My friends and I went to Rain on a recent Saturday night, and it was great! Of all the clubs and bars we went to in Vegas, Rain was the only one that lived up to its reputation! The cover charge and drink prices are high but no higher than any other big club. The D.J. played a variety of good dance music, including hip-hop, R&B, pop, house. The place is huge and crowded, but not so packed you couldn't move. If you want to find a dance club with the young, good-looking, stylish people in Vegas, this is the place. Tips: get there an hour before opening time to get in line; if going on a Thurs. or Fri., ask your cab driver about a v.i.p. pass to shorten your wait.

Ahh, rain. You'd think living by a harsh flood-prone coastal area would make me sick of the all-purifying shower of life known as rain but no. The quiet pitter patter on the window and the delicate symphony of the drops coalescing with the ground like two virgin lovers feeling thier bodies fit together for the first time... Yeah, I like rain.

I went here about 9 months ago, waited in line forever, bribed a bouncer, got in, spent cash on overpriced drinks, and went home. There were a lot of fine looking people in there and good music, but there's no where to sit (unless you pay exhorbitant VIP bottle fees), the dance floor is pathetically small, and there as a LOT of people with attitude. It's really just not worth the time.

The lines are horribly long, even on Thursday night, so get on the guest list! My boyfriend and I were on the list so they let us and our friends in right away. It was 11PM and the line was wrapped around the casino. The music was good, the place is really big. The dance floor got too crowded later on and that fire that comes out of the ceiling makes you too hot. Overall, Rain was a lot of fun, pretty people, nice atmosphere.

In my opinion, Rain is one of the best nightclubs in Las Vegas. I went late and I did not wait half as long as what I am reading below. I also paid half of what everyone else paid. I had a great time there. The only problem was getting to the bar.

My girlfriend and I went to Rain and were very disappointed. First of all, we arrived an hour before the club opened. When we got there the line wasn't all that long. Well, as it turns out when the club does open up, they let the locals and those with 'Front of the Line' passes in first. I completely expected this. What I did not antipate however, is waiting almost 4 hours to finally get in. Yes, it took 4 hours to get in! The regular line moves sooo slowly. Don't waste your time. Once we got in at 1am it was too tight to move and nowhere to sit. With only one room and mediocre djs, it was painful. Don't waste your time & money!

Went to pimp n ho last year at Rain/Skin, it was so fun! Besides the $100 cover, ($55 with adv ticket) everybody was friendly, everyone was in costume--but hey it's vegas, it's only once a year! Nite before was at the Joint and Baby's for Rubber, also lots fun, lots of costumes. Can't wait for next year. Don't go if you're gonna be embarrased walking thru your hotel in a ho costume--you won't get in without one. There's nothing else like it!

Rain is incredible. It is absolutely huge. It has a square dance floor that is about six steps up. It looks like a boxing ring. There are fountains around the dance floor and they shoot fire balls down from the ceiling. The music is fabulous. My friends and I had an excellent time here. It gets very crowded. There are monstrous lines to get in here. So either come very early or get a pass from a cab driver to get on the vip line which will get you in quicker. Just make sure you look at the pass and that its good for the night you plan on using it.

Idiots! - Youre in Las Vegas! OF COURSE the lines are going to be long, OF COURSE they are going to charge $20 to get in, OF COURSE the drinks will be $8 and up, OF COURSE the Playboy chicks are going to get in first. What are you thinking? We PAID for a VIP cabana on NYE and had 0 problems getting in, 0 problems with security, 0 problems getting drinks, and the best view of the club! Bartenders at themain bars were great too! They dont cater to those who aren't willing to pay going rates for top end clubs, and why should they? ITS LAS VEGAS FOOLS!

They made us wait in line for 2 1/2 hours before we actually got inside. To add insult to injury, they charged $20/head. Once inside you'll realize, "seen one club, seen 'em all." My friend disliked the occasional spray of dry ice in her face. As it was, there was barely any room to dance, so I found the installation in the middle of the room impeded our need to get our groove on. The long and the short of it is, the long lines outside of this particular nightclub are but a ploy to get you into a place you've been before and then left home disappointed. PS The security guards are UNfriendly unless you are a blond female who wears a size 2 and a pair of C-cups. Oops, I mean, a Playboy bunny. If you go, ask security what they got for you on their power trip.

After a recent trip to Vegas and a brief encounter with Rain, I can only hope this place is unsuccessful. This is the kind of place that belongs in a city like Miami. Rough door policy, people who would rather see and be seen than have a good time. I can only hope that other resorts and hotels don't copy this place if it remains a success. Otherwise, the fun will be taken away from this great city. Rain (and the Palms in general) is another thing that is overhyped by MTV. One positive thing is that the girls are good looking.

Ive been to this club 3 times now since its opening and all 3 times I heard the same songs in the same order. We thought the cd player was skipping also. The go go dancers were horrible and alot of them were really out of shape. But the club is really nice looking. The woman to man ratio was horrible like 20 guys to every girl so it was annoying having old bald men hitting on you all night. Also the valet parking at the Palms was very unprofessional. It took them 30 minutes to find my car. There are alot of fun clubs in Vegas I just dont think this is one of them.

The club tries to be this great place, but with a postage stamp sized dance floor, and being constantly told to keep moving around in a circle by "security" I won't be back. The crowd was basically Barstow babes and guys with purple nightshandes rolling. Music was OK as they mix in a bunch of different types before 2am when it all goes to trance. If the crowd was a little more mature, and the dance floor was 10X the size, you could have fun there.

Rain is redicilously packed all the time, it's impossible to have to go in without waiting for at least 1 hour. Even when the reservation has been made it took about 45 minutes for me and my mates to have our names checked on our lists. The place is not bad at all, it's pretty cool, but the music, come on i'm sure they can play something good, they pumped techno like 45 minutes before closing.

Rain was a huge waste of my money and time. The staff was rude (shining flashlights in your eyes instead of asking you to move), it was ridiculously hot, and it took forever to get a drink. The dancing wa OK if you don't want to have to move on your own; you can just let the sweaty mob push you to the beat.

Rain was a very nice nightclub. The music was good, and the light and fire show was unbeleiveable. If you don't get there by around 9:30 and start the line, prepare for a long, but worthwhile wait. I have seen many clubs elsewhere, and this one is right up there.
