Thu Oct 22 2009A Louisiana Justice of the Peace named Keith Bardwell refused to marry an interracial couple. He said that he doesn't marry interracial couples because he thinks that the marriages won't last very long and he thinks that the offspring will suffer. Bi-racial children do suffer. They suffer because of people like Bardwell. Bardwell says that he isn't racist but he is. I know that it's racism because sadly I used to be prejudice. Twenty years ago I was against interracial marriage. Fortunately I changed. Now I have a black girlfriend. They're going to try to bring disciplinary action against Bardwell and he will most likely be fired. Good riddance. But since I was able to change, hopefully Bardwell will be able to change as well.

Mon Oct 19 2009Racism is a serious problem, but unfortunately, even if things improve, it will never go away. The reason is simpler than most people want to admit. People seem to be naturally fearful and suspicious of anything that is different. While the color of one's skin is certainly a superficial difference, it is a very visible difference.

Tue Sep 22 2009It doesn't matter if you are black, white, hispanic, yellow, or purple. We are all equal. I get sick and tired of hearing about racism and the fact that it is still going on. It's been going on for years and years and I don't know why. Will it ever end?

Tue Sep 22 2009If you think that a czar is unconstitutional ... you might be a racist! If you are opposed to a government run health care system ... you might be a racist! If you think that it is unAmerican to bow before the Saudi King ... you might be a racist! If you think that the stimulus plan has been an utter failure ... you might be a racist! If you think that this administration is driving the deficit up at alarming rates ... you might be a racist! If you think that this is a nation based on Christian values ... you might be a racist! If you think that communism and socialism are NOT the solution ... you might be a racist! If you value the 1st Amendment, but think that the media is state-run ... you might be a racist! If you are sick and tired of the race card being played ... you might be a racist! If you are a racist according to the current liberal agenda ... you might just be an American

Tue Sep 22 2009"Racism" is a "group of people"? I hope this list was made by someone to whom English is a second (or third) language.

Thu Mar 27 2008Aliens must regard this as a hideous disease that to some degree or other has infected the lives of 6 billion plus members of a largely moronic species on a run of the mill planet in Nowheresville...

Tue Feb 20 2007Racism exists in all forms and against all races. One fights a good fight to end the hate and others jump in and start another war. Will we ever learn to live in peace, to forgive and let go of the past? Unfortunately I'm afraid it will get worse before it ever gets better.

Thu Mar 23 2006Humans are clannish, that is human nature. Over the course of time, races intermingle and blend--history shows that. The problem is the attitude. Look at Rwanda. This is a 100% Black country. Yet we have genocide? Why? Well for one thing the Tutsis are taller than the Hutus. For another, the Tutsis were a ruling class. Race? I don't think so. How about Cambodia. 25% of the country is slaughtered. Why? Race? I don't think so. The people who had religion or education or who had been abroad were slaughtered. They were all the same race. People of the same race are clannish and will slaughter each other. Such, I am sad to say, is human nature.

Thu Mar 23 2006Chritians,Muslims,Jews,black,white,métis,we are all the same,we are all Adam and Eve's children. There is no place to racism on this earth.I ask everybody to fight racism everywhere.I think one of the most important thing to live in peace together is "TOLERATION" and "RESPECT".

Sat Aug 20 2005There is too little in American society to take serious note of. One of the ongoing debates that simulataneously illustrates how 1) decent, and 2) spoiled United States residents are is this ceaseless concern and preoccupation with racism. Once you travel a little bit outside of this country, you will come to realize how preposterous the claims are of race baiters who commonly characterize America as something akin to Cape Town in the early 80s or Montgomery in the 50s. Go live in the UAE or Japan for a year and you will see your homeland in an entirely different light.

Sun Jul 03 2005Racism is the one thing that America can feel real shame over. From institutionalized slavery to the second class treatment of African-Americans, to the awful extermination of Indians and the gross exploitation of Asians and Eastern Europeans, this country has a shameful attiude towards anyone who isnt white ( WASP in particular). It's very unfortunate because there are generations of minorities who could have made valuable contributions to this country and the world if they were treated equally in America. We'll never know what might have been, but this generation is beginnng to finally level the playing field for all.

Sat Jul 02 2005Why does Racism exsist. I'll tell you why it's greed. The majority can't stand to see the minority as they call it prosper. they want to be rich and empower themselves. not all of them but there are. they think that because they have a harvard degree there all that.

Tue May 31 2005There's a song that I learned in Sunday School when I was about 5, and it goes Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight. I think that so many people today are judging by the colour of your skin. Just because you have black skin, or white skin, or red skin, or polka dotted skin, doesn't mean you're any less important than any one else. God loves everyone just the way you are, and he doesn't judge, because he made you exactly the way he wanted. We were all made in his image. If he doesn't judge, then why should we?

Fri Nov 12 2004Rock on, Bird808. Do not give an inch. It's a beautiful world, as long as you don't weaken.

Fri Nov 12 2004For the past six weeks I've been doing my MA and I'm one of two blacks in my year of thirty-six students. I used to work and coming from an environment where race was not an issue and to be thrown into one where it is, is extremely overwhelming. Since I've been there I've learnt that racism still exists in its extreme forms and it angers me that teachers are still judging my ability due to the colour of my skin rather than academic achievement. I laugh in the face of adversity and I know as well as they do that I'm going to persevere above their narrow minds and have a more positive influence in this world by continuing to rise and stay true to myself and others.

Fri Sep 17 2004Racism exist now and always will. I don't believe it has really changed that much since the sixties. Sure, people have learned to keep there feelings in the closet but there feelings haven't really changed. I have a cool group of friends and most of them are smart enough to know when they 'can be honest', but amongst ouselves, it is clear how we feel. They are all white. Part of me feels like in a truly free country, all races should be able to be amongst their own as well as dislike another race if they want to as long as they do not take to any form of violence over it. I think we would all love to live in a neighborhood that was full of only the types of people we identify with. That feeling in itself nowadays would be considered racist, but I disagree. I don't give racism much attention myself. I dont experience it much and if I do I usually consider the source. Each race is very different. Those differences can be interesting and can be a source of indifference. It is hu... Read more

Mon Sep 06 2004Racism exists in all races, and it's something that goes in both (er, all) ways--it's not as bad as it has been before, but it still exists and it's still a reason for concern. Racism can often lead not only to just harassment, but to physical violence, and murder. Racism isn't purely a problem in the US, nor is it at its worst here--it's easy to forget that genocide is still ongoing in some countries. Racism is, or should be, one of the most concerning types of discrimination.

Mon Sep 06 2004Racism sucks, but to respond to irishgit, we got alot of contenders for that moron tag you mentioned.
by irishgit
Mon Sep 06 2004Probably the most prevalent, and the fact that it has largely gone underground makes it no less existant, or less disgusting. And Chauncey, if that is how you refer to white guys you are a racist. Which goes well with the moron tag you have already locked up on this site.

Sun Sep 05 2004I am so surprised that this kind of discrimination is number 12 in the rating, not at the first place! Do we see that this is a discrimination heading toward almost all of us, that depends on where we live and where we travel, all of us can be hit by racism! That is something that makes our world so crazy!

Tue Aug 10 2004Anyone who denies that racial discrimination still exists needs their eyes and ears checked. Please tell me why such a huge percentage of blacks, latinos, Native American Indians, etc. are still below the poverty line. And don't give me that lame-ass excuse about them being lazy. It's a mighty big coincidence for an entire ethnicity to be lazy, don't you think? And why is it that the only times I've ever been followed around in a convenience store was when I was with a black friend?
