Rachel Ray has made it clear herself that she is a cook and not a chef. A chef to me has formal culinary training. Rachel Ray is just a good business person who used cooking at home to make her famous.

I'm just now starting to become familiar with her on Food Network. She seems to make meals that are practical and look downright delicious, and her presentation is laid-back. What I also like about her is she isn't stick skinny like many of the other female TV personalities, which perhaps makes her a little more believable as a cook.

She has great recipes and I enjoyed her before she became "really" popular.  Now I find her annoying.

ONe of the more likable chefs on tv. We have watched the 30 minute meals. and the one where she travels for 40 dollars a day. She seems like a nice person. The meals she prepares look easy and can ingrdients can be found at any supermarket. and thankfully not too expensive. Some of those chef shows the cost of a meal is way out of our league. I like on her shows she likes to eat and suggests meals that would be of interest to us.I see she is someone who loves her food and loves to cook.i must say that she is on tv. too much. she seems nice enough but she is everywhere now.

She's OK. She's got an ass big enough to set a case of beer on. I guess that the Food Network has decided that she is a big draw because I can't even turn on that channel anymore without being constantly bombarded with cooking shows that feature her. It's getting to where her presence on the Food Network is so frequent it rates with Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven" being overplayed on rock radio stations in the 1970's and 1980's. If they don't start mixing it up a bit people are going to get sick of her real fast.

I find her show quite annoying! the recipes are ok but that laugh and interupting all her guests has to stop.

I find her annoying on television, but the recipes in her comfort foods book are top rate, and take only about a half hour.

She's someone I would have thought I'd find annoying, but she's just so cute. She's just a genuine person, attractive, but not overly so, dresses like an everyday woman would, sounds like the girl next door or maybe a friend of a friend. Plus she can cook. She does simple meals that look great. Time flies with her show. I'm glad she's successful. A sweetheart.

I find her absolutely obnoxious. Her jokes and little cracks here and there arent even funny. Just annoying!

I would watch her cook more if she wasn't so anoying. Does she drink before the show? She talks, laughs and giggles too much. The personality seems fake to me.

She has the perfect personality, looks and energy level for this job. She's very down to earth and often cuts a few corners with ready made stuff and uses ingredients that are easily found in your local stores - unlike a few other TV cooking gurus who seem to purposely include crap you couldn't find unless you were to set off on an expedition to the Amazon. Of course, she's criticized for this but I say - if you don't like the practical real-life approach turn up your nose, mute the tube and wait for a cook with snob appeal - you won't have to wait long. I enjoy watching her travel shows - though I think it would be a bit more convincing if every dish wasn't as mouth wateringly wonderful as the last one. Gripe once in awhile Rachel - we know you don't like EVERYTHING!

I love how she whips things together and with such a spirit, not to mention she's so cute. Got to get some more EVOO.
