Fri Feb 22 2008Here is a prayer that I like to say everyday: "God, I offer myself to Thee--to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always."

Sun Feb 17 2008good advice again. i am a horrible worrier. it is awful hard NOT to worry. bills pill up, getting harder to provide for all of our needs. I worry a lot. what will become of our kids? our health, etc. wish I could give it to God more often and try and let worries go. much harder than it seems though. when you are faced with immediate worries that do not go away. I have tried praying and I do feel better after all. just do not know if it helps my worries go away.

Sat Nov 24 2007I worry too much; I worry about my family, I worry about my walk with the Lord and I worry that I worry too much. Do you worry? I know I shouldn't fret over stuff but I do. I didn't use to be this way; I was more carefree. God does not want us to worry all the time. I know people do, some more than others. If you are one of those who can't seem to stop the "worry machine" from working overtime then do this: Trust God more. How? By reading the Bible and talking to him and asking him to help you with your concerns. He wants to help you (and me)!I feel better when I read God's Word. It helps me to know that others have felt like I do and God helped them. He has helped me too. I'm working on disabling my "worry machine." You should as well. Another way to stop worrying is to help others. When you concentrate on other people you tend to not dwell on your own problems so much. Also, it helps to share with your friends how you feel and listen to them in return. "Confess your trespasses to ... Read more

Mon Mar 26 2007Worrying is a natural part of life, however some people have elavated it to an art form. For the most part I don't worry about anything before it's time. What does, and has caused me to worry is my kids growing up, learning to drive, coming home late, daughters going on dates, wondering if they can hear my voice and see my face when someone offered them a beer or worse, my son going to Iraq. Those things have caused many a sleepless night, despite the fact that I have prayed for their safety. I think God understands my worries. Everything else is trivial.

Mon Mar 26 2007Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Sat May 13 2006For a start, this is a commandment, because Jesus told us not to worry. Worry is something we all do though and is a lot easier said then done. You cant just stop worrying, it doesnt work like that. But Jesus gave us a big hint how not to worry in Matt 6:25 onwards. Jesus addressed the 3 main things we worry about, they were for food, clothing and for our life in general. Jesus addressed all those worries. He said that to overcome the worry for food, we should look at the birds (ie be a bird watcher!). They arent as smart as we are ie they dont gather wheat in barns or build houses yet they are well fed and live in nests. They are fed by the Father. Well Ive never seen a worried bird or a bird sitting around feeling sorry for itself!! Animals in a way have more faith in God then we do because they dont worry about their life or food. The only time you ever see an animal worrying is if a predator is practically right on top of it!! Secondly, Jesus addressed the issue of clot... Read more
