An excellent Bond movie with plenty of action. This movie features some of the best chase and fight scenes anywhere, and Craig is an excellent Bond. Although I really enjoyed the first movie, this sequel is probably better than Casino Royale. This movie is easily comparable in action and editing to the Bourne series, but without all that grainy flashback and amnesia nonsense. There is also a 3 parts gin / 1 part vodka cocktail recipe in the movie, but I didn't catch the mixer they were using.

I can’t add anything to Lena’s review, except to say that she is dead-on. I’ve liked a few Bond films, thought others were a waste of time, but I never thought I would see one that was both good and completely realistic. I guess I screwed up by watching this one first, as opposed to Casino Royale, but I can still give an honest A to the story and the direction, an A+ to Daniel Craig as Bond, and say that Olga Kurylenko was easy on the eyes. Even if you are not a fan of 007, this is worth checking out.

Quite possibly the better of the 2 Craig movies. In my opinion they should of had more scenes with the Aston Martin. What really makes me like this movie better than the rest is the fact that they don't have unrealistic gadgets stored in stupid places. The person who reviewed this before me said this had TOO MUCH action... How can you have TOO MUCH action in an ACTION movie!? >:) rawr add more!!!!!

I finally got a chance to see Quantum of Solace this past weekend and I wasn't disappointed. I'm a fan of this latest reinvention of the Bond franchise because Daniel Craig's characterization of Bond seems more authentic: human and a bit damaged, rather than the entirely over-acted caricature Brosnan embodied in the same role. Gone are the absurd gadgets that feel more like Inspector Gadget than James Bond. Cheesy stilted dialogue has been replaced by pretty interesting fight choreography. I'm gonna make this easy and sum it up for you before I launch into a full-blown review. If you like action films, you will like Quantum of Solace. If you're looking for something heavy on plot and drama, you'll probably be disappointed. I like a wide variety of genres for completely different reasons, and action / adventure, to me at least, should be about pure entertainment. Action flicks that get randomly sappy just irritate me, and fortunately this one doesn't fall into that trap (although its... Read more

Not being a James Bond fan, I felt that the film served its purpose well enough as an action movie. Much has been said about the poor editing of the fight scenes and the lack of a menacing villain. Those things bother me more than complaints such as the lack of 'gee-whizmos' and silly comedic relief guest stars. I am not a fan of the gimmicky Bond material and appreciate Craig's presence and the severe gut-level ferocity he displays. Bond fans will be let down but fans of Indiana Jones may have more fun with the proceedings.

I think the film was a notch down from the previous installment but still better than anything that preceeded the Daniel Craig films, post 1960's.  The long-drawn action oriented first half was indeed dirivative of the recent (and excellent) Jason Bourne films, but the Bond character once again was closer to the Flemming created Bond from the page than any other era of the films.  I'm hanging in for  the continuation of a decent series of espionage based films over the goofy second rate Hong Kong action films that the series had become.

Discusting bad, Its not even a james bond. There's nothing james bond like in this movie, the only thing that is in there is M and a guy that is somehow called james bond for no reason at all.

Great movie. What I really like about this movie is that it focuses on Bond without all the gizmos. It actually has a plot that could be in a sense; real. Daniel Craig is a really good actor and also knows how to deliver his lines. I look forward to many more of his Bond movies. Also I have always been a fan of Judi Dench. Her character as M is just made for her. If you dont know Judi from other British shows she is a comedian and this role must be a challenge but she is very good at it. This is a movie worth seeing.

Let me start by saying I like Daniel Craig as Bond.Let me finish by saying that this may be the worst Bond film ever made, including the original comedic version of Casino Royale.  The action sequences are so disjointed and incomprehensible they look like they were edited by a crystal meth addict who had downed three gallons of espresso, there is no discernable plot, and the characters are so thin and pointless they don`t even qualify as narrative devices.A couple hours of my life I wish I had back.

OK... Here's the weird thing. I like the new "James Bond" actor but I really don't have much good to say about this film. I mean if it was just meant to be another action film it would have been fine - but it's not meant to be another action film. It's suppose to be James Bond. Where was James Bond in all of this? No gadgets... No great comebacks... No real freaky villan... No women... (I'm not even sure why they bothered putting the lead woman in this role). Anyway... not a bad action movie but a lousy Bond film overall.

James Bond??? This is more a bad version of Die Hard. I really think Craig is an good actor, no doubt. BUT Quantum of Solace is NOT a Bond movie. No good one liners, no plot/story, no gentleman touch, no smart dialogs, no gadgets. And why is not Q/R in the movie?! Will somebody please get John Cleese back a.s.a.p! (And later perhaps introduce Eddie Izzard as his disciple/successor?).

This movie is just plain bad, action scenes way to jumbled. Terrible writing!

Easily, the worst Bond ever made. The formula for a Bond movie MUST contain A. Gorgeous women. B. Great cars. C. Slick devices. D. A plot E. Sex F. Danzi boats G. Tongue-in-cheek innuendos. H. Exotic locations. I. A real villain. J. Action...which brings us to the last factor (at least the last one I'm gonna waste ink on)...K. Slick editing. There was action...lots of it...but it was all so horribly and incomprehensibly edited that you couldn't tell what the hell was going on. It would be more plausible to listen to Corrado Soprano, in a wheelchair, muttering that he is still The Boss of the family, than to believe that this is a Bond, James Bond film. Awful! Unbelievably awful!PS: I like Daniel Craig. He's the working man's Bond...rugged and physical. The paradyne shift from the nearly-royal, blue blood kind of Bond that we have been used to was enough of a shift, but this movie goes too far...pushing the entire franchise off the cliff. Ah, what the hell...you Bonds fans will go to se... Read more
