Purple is strong, striking, and pleasant on its own. It doesn't rely on other colors to bring out its beauty. This is unique to purple; no other color is so stimulating and emotional, unaccompanied. It is one of the rarer hues in nature, manifesting in gems, sunsets, flowers, butterflies, birds, and other similarly nifty things.

Regarding numbah's comment about a purple light saber I post this thought. Now I gotta admit that light sabers look neat, but how in the world do they work? Light is such, that one beam would merely pass through the other. It would be like fighting with flash lights. Also light keeps on going and doesn't stop about a yard from the hilt of the saber. Many experts conclude that some form of plasma that heated gases to a level where they emitted light would be necessary. Unfortunately, that would take a mechanism to keep the plasma in check as some type of magnetic force must be used. This means that the hilt would have to have an accelerator to whip up the gas, and some powerful generator to create the magnetic force. How could both these devices be fitted into the hilt? A problem further arises in that a crafty opponent could carry a powerful magnet in his other hand, disrupt the magnetic force surrounding the plasma in your light saber, and the thousands of degrees of heat p... I like purple, fine. Just don't like it being compared to pink. I don't care for any color being compared to my pink! Though I like lilac and lavender, especially. Lavender more. I have a cousin who wears lavender contacts-and I didn't know they made them. Cool. She looks like an Anime character about the eyes and I created a prototype character of my cousin. the character is an angel.

Purple is an interesting color. When one thinks of a radiant dark purple, one thinks of a majestic Roman emperor walking triumphantly down the stone steps of his palace, his bright purple toga billowing out behind him......at least that's what I think. A light purple hue is a fey color, in my opinion, and it looks weird on clothes.

Purple is my favorite color. It's beautiful. Whenever I see it in nature my eyes just linger and linger...it makes me think of all the unusual yet beautiful things of the world (such as myself) lol. I have always loved it and I remember doing a search for the meaning of different colors a while back on the net and what I got out of it was purple is a color of high emotions and sensitivity, spirituality and grace. After that I was sold because those are things that describe me pretty much.

Purple, as a whole, is overrated. The only thing I really truly enjoy about the color is that it suppresses the appetite.

Purple, what a color! Plain purple is just too plummish for me, but other purples, oh my! Sometimes you feel real important sitting in purple furniture! And some shades of purple are so emotional, and like a hurricane! What a color!

Purple is supposed to be a spiritual color, and also the color of royalty, but to me it is the hue of happiness. Purple is also a feminine color, without the oppressive girliness of pink.

I like purple. I like the dark purple the best it is intense and invokes energy, power and a sense of self. The lighter purple is softer, more feminine and is just is pretty. People with dark hair look good in either purple or red.

I like purple an awful lot. It's feminine without being girly, and looks attractive on either gender. It also doesn't provoke panic in newborns like some of the brighter, more obnoxious colours.

The color purple is a funny color...I don't like the way it looks, but it is my favorite fruit snack color...grape! That's why it isn't a 1, or if I could a 0. And no, this is not because it is a color synonomous with gays. I just dislike the color itself, only gave it a 3 because it is a great fruit snack flavor...grape is the best. Who doesn't like fruit snacks? Why do they give me one or two grapes but 4 reds? I want more grapes!!

Some shades of purple can be really pretty, while others. . .not so much. I like purple clothes, but not purple walls. I've been told I look good in violet and lavender, but purple's a color you have to be in the right mood to like.

There are two kinds of purple. There is red/purple and there is blue purple. I like the blue/purple but I'm not really big on the red/purple. Good grief, did I really write that?

in addition to all that's been said above, let's not forget the racier side of purple, as "purple passages" refer to parts of writing that imply, refer and/or describe sex and sensuality. And, as a Minnesota Viking fan, let's also not forget that purple married to gold happens to be the colors that define the most dramatic uniforms in the NFL, complete with Norsemen horns .....

Royal purple is the best kind. As long as it has enough blue in it I'm happy. Reddish purples can be less attractive.

Purple is a very artistic, original and independant color. It tends to dominate and emphasise whatever it's on. Something I've always loved about purple is that it's very hard (if not impossible) to make purple look tasteless and flashy. Wether it's light or dark, purple always contains that certain sort of grace.

A combination of both hot and cool ends of the spectrum, purple can be a very dramatic, intense and moving hue. It symbolizes royalty, is the color of lilacs, violets, and impending storms. It shows up in rainbows and you can occasionally catch a glimpse of it in the most gorgeous sunsets. I never seem to get tired of certain shades of purple and personally prefer the lavender blues to the more reddish ones. In clothing, purple looks great combined with gray or black and can make a very sophisticated, striking statement. More effectively than any other color, purple projects a sense of mystery - you might even imagine it to often be the color of the sky in the worlds of Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King or Anne Rice.
