Purdue University

Purdue isn't really as great as it's perceived to be. Firstly, the quality of the instructors is nowhere near University level; and secondly, most of them don't really care about the students at all. There are way too many Asians in this university that makes it a little too international. I would say that Purdue campus is definitely one of the most beautiful campuses, and their bus infrastructure is well-shaped too. Overall, I would say that Purdue University is a money-sucking institution, and they don't really provide the worth of your hard-earned money.

I hold 2 degrees from Purdue. I agree with other reviewers that engineering, agriculture and business are the leaders at Purdue. If you are looking for a Liberal Arts degree, you'd do better at Ball State in Muncie, IN. I can't believe that another reviewer called the campus ugly. It's a beautiful campus. They've taken great pains with landscaping, and more artistic touches have been added, such as the sculpture outside the Vet School. One of the leading Veterinary schools in the United States, by the way! Purdue also offers student run clubs of all kinds that students can get involved in, a wonderful recreation center, a theatre where all students can audition, and much, much more. It's a great place with a lot to offer.

I am a 3rd generation graduate and my daughter is now there, too. Nice looking campus, decent social life and usually decent sports teams. Could use more diversity and is very conservative but you can find people like you if you look. Some of the best times in my life were there.

Purdue is a really cool college to attend but,you do have to watch what you'r spending your money on it can get costly.But,I think some of the professor's can be cool. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hoosierprofessor This is a neat group.

I received my undergraduate degree from Purdue as did my three brothers, my sister, my husband, my sister-in-lawm, my cousin, and many friends. Two of my brothers also received their Master's degrees from Purdue (mostly through distance learning). We love Purdue.

Oustanding school. Our company's top performers have been hired from here and continuously are impressed with the candidates we receive from Purdue. The campus is always improving itself and it is a wonderful place, although the surrounding town leaves something to be desired. If I went there, I would probably not ever leave campus. But forunately the campus is so great, you would not have too. Strong acedemic reputation for engineering and a very up and coming business school. Purdue has taken a technical strategy to its business school and we have been impressed with the results. Very respectable athletics as well. Above average in the major sports and of course since this is a Big Ten school, the teams are very visible for watching on TV and following if you are an alumni.

Good school but not a great school. Agriculture programs are among the best in the world. Engineering, pharmacy, business and nursing are excellent but not as relatively good as Agriculture. Liberal Arts are not bad but are definitely the low man on the local totem pole.

Calling this school the Harvard of the Midwest is laughable. Have you left West Lafayette? I can list 10 other schools in the Midwest that are ranked higher without effort. A legit engineering school. Average sports teams.

Awesome place to go to school.

I graduated from Purdue's nursing school in 2003. I had a great experience there. The campus is nice it is just in a smaller city.

I have lived in the community for 18 years and the diversity that the campus provides is amazing, but overall it is very conservative. Also, The social scene is also less than desirable when compared to more urban schools.

I graduated from Purdue and loved the four years I spent there. I wish it could have been more. I went to graduate school at another Big Ten school and didn't like it nearly as well. Great School.

I graduated from Purdue in Engineering in 1950. Throughout my working years I came across no one better prepared in their engineering field than I was.

Purdue is the Harvard of the Midwest!! A great school! (How the heck can University of Central Florida be rated higher than Purdue, for cryin' out loud?)

Lame school. Filled with engineering dorks and losers. Horribly ugly campus.

Great school, but good luck with all campus services such as financial aid, advisors, registration, bursar's office, etc.... They will nickel and dime you to death and give you the total runaround. Everyone tries to put their job onto everyone else. If you think your going to go to one office for a short period of time, get ready--you will spend 3 days running back and forth across campus to the different offices! The school/social atmosphere is great! And Lafayette/West Lafayette are awesome places to live!

A great University but it could use a shot in the arm. Diversity is a priority but fundamentals seem to fall away sometimes. Overall, I would not change a thing. I have enjoyed every minute here at Purdue

Anywhere but here.

I graduated BSEE a year ago. Purdue has a hot reputation in engineering but I don't think they truly live up to it. Professors are old and requirements are bland for engineers. Beautiful campus though!

Purdue continues to be one of the nation's premier engineering Universities while providing a superior all around education.

Fine engineering school, but cares little about student body.
