Mon Sep 15 2008As the parent I was disappointed in the Kick 'N Go since the kicking doesn't propel you very far and the speed is limited. If you are on level ground it works ok, but can be difficult going up hill. To be effective the Kick 'N Go would need gears to adjust for the situation and that would probably be difficult to design it. From the kid's side, my son does enjoy it and would probably rate it with more stars, but it appears to be a novelty that may be wearing off.

Thu Sep 11 2008I was very surprised to see negative comments on this scooter, I have not seen a better quality product for this price in Years. I love this thing. I originally bought the Kick and Go for my Sons 7th Birthday... and he could not stop riding it, Inside the house, the garage, the living room, you name it. It had to be parked in his room. He wanted to make sure no one would ride it. So of course, I had to try. All I can say is that I wish they had one when I was younger... what a blast. Last week we were at our weekly trip to Toys r Us and to my delight, they have a new smaller Nitrous model out.... This was meant to be. I decide to buy my Son the smaller model, because this would be "easier" for him. This was a great call on my end. My wife thinks I'm a great Dad, my son loves this one even more..... and I have a Kick and Go for my self now !! I mounted 2 cup holders on it and now cruise it back and forth to my Neighbors. My neighborhood is now the Proud owner of 5 adult guys r... Read more

Sat Aug 09 2008I purchased this for my 7 year old for his birthday. The foot mechanism that pumps it to go is too hard for him to push and the handle bars even on the lowest setting is way too high for him. I have a teen son and this scooter would be more fitting for him at his age. I would recommend only for older children ... maybe 10 and up.

Tue Jul 22 2008I bought this scooter for when I need to get to class from my car quickly. I go to college, I'm 29, 5'2" and 95lbs. It's great because it fits nicely in the trunk and is almost as quick as a bicycle, and just a little more fun. I was using a small Razor-type before, and man, this scooter is like a Cadillac compared to it. The ride is smooth, which is because of the large front wheel and insulated handlebars. And I like it because you don't have to constantly be kicking the ground which wore my legs out with the Razor. The pedal takes a couple of rides to get used to, you feel funny at first, but then get comfortable and find a good cruising speed and rythym that's suitable for you. Your legs also then get used to the motion and it becomes more natural the more you ride it. I read a previous review which said you hit the pedal when you push, but that as well just takes a couple of times riding to adjust yourself to, just like riding a bike, your body just adjusts accordingly. Tue Jul 08 2008i found this scooter to be alot of fun, i dont know why people are writing bad reviews about it. the pump mechanism only goes fast if you kick it really fast, i had to also reduce the chain length to make it ALOT faster, to do this you need to look at the bottom and you will see a black spring and the chain. disconnect the spring and there should be a little grey hook holding the end of the chain.make that chainlength longer so theres more extra(reducing the chains length), now you can have someone help you for the next part or you can do this yourself (i did this myself)pull the black spring and connect it back to the black hook on the grey disk shaped thing and your ready to go. what reducing the chain length does. reducing the chain length makes it harder to push the kick pedal. this in turn makes for a bigger speed burst though. remember to kick off about 3 times to get a good ammount of speed and momentum and then just kick as hard and as fast as you can.
