I shop at the Publix in Dunwoody GA. Many times the items listed as being on sale on the Publix online site are not on sale at my store and I have to go home and download the online ad. And sometimes they still argue about it.

South West Florida. Be sure to check the expiration dates on the food because it's always expired! And the dairy products tastes like they've been sitting in the heat all day. I'd rather shop at Winn Dixie!

Publix is ok for the stuff that you have to get. Other than that I would stay away from them. First of all they are way overpriced. Secondly their express lanes are always manned by cashiers who don't know what the hell they are doing and the lines are longer there than the normal ones. Lastly, there produce is always halfway rotten. The deli sandwiches can't be beat. I wouldn't go there for dairy their publix milk always has a funny smell to it. The meat is pretty good but I would stay away from the seafood as the smell from the seafood section is unbearable. Sure they have a tidy store but with overpriced items and rotting goods I would rather go to walmart or winn-dixie for that matter. I feel bad for the employees that have to work near the seafood section on a daily basis. Quality control at publix must be non-existent.

Here in Florida, there is not much choice, but Publix. Fruit and vegetables choices are worse than Aldi, or any little grocery store. Wish they had better choice in fresh produce than wines.

I do have a choice where to shop for my groceries, walmart, super target, winn dixie, but nothing compares to publix. Yes their prices may be higher but in our store at Harbor Place shopping center, you get what you pay for with very good customer service. For years they have kept me as a return customer, they have made many excellent birthday cakes for my children, their seafood selection is fresh and their meat department is always there when you need that special cut. We love their deli and their sandwiches are far better than subway, they have an excellent tarragon chicken salad and of course their fried chicken is something my kids ask for often. Thank you publix for providing my family with a clean store, a welcoming environment and great customer service, I will continue to shop with you.

Employees are helpful and friendly and the stores are almost always neat and clean. I think their trademark is their 2 for 1 deals, but even then they are usually higher than most of the competition. Seafood selection is normally the best deal around but we normally have Publix as our #3 grocery - except for seafood. And there is nothing fishy about this review!

The store is okay if you like to pay top dollar for little portions of meat they consider "roasts". and cutlet strips they call "chicken breast". The seafood department is good, and if you want decent prices. that's about the only place to get it. It is clean, the people are friendly, but it is terribly over priced in general. I go there only if have to get something quick, or to get salmon, but if I want a hearty meal to feed a family, I go elsewhere.

I have to say what I have to say from experience. I was employed by publix for over a year and I worked in multiple departments. I worked as a bagger, then a cashier, then a bakers assistant, then a deli assistant. On an employee level, there are some issues that i think everyone needs to know. Publix has discrimintation problems. I was being treated fairly, given good hours, and getting deserved respect up until the point th manager found out that I was homosexual. Literally the day that they found out, my hours got cut, I was cursed out by a department manager, and was outruled in an oppurtunity that I fully deserved. It was after these incedents that I was to the manager, and was told that nobody had done anything wrong to me at all and so there was nothing that he do. As far as shopping there goes, i have shopped at multiple Publix locations, and while employees are helpful, lines are often long. How difficult is it to hire more people if they are needed? Quite a few times I have ... Read more

I also shop at the Windhorst/Kingsway Publix and it is great. I went there looking for Andoulie sausage and they didn't carry it. I told the meat dept. that I really wanted it and the next time I was there they had it and still do. Also I wanted the chicken stock in the recloseable containers rather than the cans and now they carry those after I asked them to. Always clean, well lit, and I definitely will never buy meat from Wal-mart knowing they inject it with sodium. The reason the bakery products such as buns and breads go bad so quickly is because they are not putting preservatives in it. It is made fresh and supposed to be eaten at least within 2-3 days. If you are trying to buy food in bulk then don't get fresh from the bakery, get the stuff over on the bread isle that has preservatives in it. As far as the deli well I agree with Oneredrose, they don't seem to know what they are doing half the time. Otherwise they get a 5 from me. Only place I'll shop. As far as price... Read more

Went for interview for Deli position. To be hired as part time, work full time. How long do I have to wait for health benefits? "One Year"! Oh sure $8 and hour, I'll be paid enough money so I can buy it for a year. No thanks Publix!

I have shopped at Publix Amelia Island for more than six years and found the following to be consistant with the service and condition of the store. Publix Amelia Island is a very poor example of a grocery store. It's poor customer service is consistant from the top to the bottom of its staff and management at this location. The store is frequently understocked and less than clean. Here are a few real time examples to further explain my point: 1. On most visits the cashier asks "did you find everything ok" on the occasions are items are out of stock I have mentioned the item; the cashiers never write the items down or convey them to coworkers. Generally the items are not restocked on the next visit. 2. The cases where the items have been habitually out of stock I have taken the time to bring this to the attention of the store management. On several of these occasions I have had to follow up more that 3 times to finally obtain the product. In all cases I felt like I had burde... Read more

Went to a Publix in Nashville as we needed a few things to bring back to the hotel. There was nothing special about this store, but it wasn't bad by any means. Good if you just need a few items.

To the person who said Publix doesn't wash its veggies: Hello my name is Kimberly, I am a Publix employee who works in the deli and bakery. Now you're rating was ignorant. You obviously do not know anything about where our products come from. Our lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, and onions are delivered from Fresh Products. It is already washed and sliced, it is delivered in ready to be placed in the sub shop dishes. The vegetables are changed every four hours or less. We have concealed glass tops to avoid entrance of foreign objects. Our banana peppers, pickles, and jalepenos are from Mt. Olive delivered ready to be put in the Sub shops, and our olives are from Fragiano. Also to the people concerned over prices Publix delivers a different kind of quality verses other grocery competitors. We are very strict on our cleaning and sanitation processes. We even hire a company to visit us at random times to do inspections to make sure everything is clean and running according to code. The... Read more

Very good quality overall, and specially on items over which the store has control, such as the produce, bakery and meats. Very clean, considerable variety, quick service. Outside South Florida the quality is considerably better. I don't know why such a regional difference.

Compared to some other markets, Publix seems good. I like the smaller atmosphere than shopping in large chains such as wal mart where I have to walk half a mile to get a gallon of milk and then another half a mile to grab some pasta. You get the picture. I also think 50% of those working at publix are friendly. Moreso than other places. At the same time, publix is more expensive and I don't think it's fair for people to pay for niceness. Also, if you buy sandwiches at the deli, know that they don't wash the tomatoes they cut into your sub, they don't wash the lettuce, etc. It has dirt, flies, etc, in it and it is not WASHED. I know this because I know someone who worked there and she was the ONLY employee in the dept. who actually washed the produce that is cut and put into your sub. How sick?

Publix is the best place grocery store around. There prices are a little higher on some items than Wal-mart but, it's worth to pay a little extra sometimes to get better quality. For example the produce is always fresh and so is the floral department. The store is always clean and so is the bathrooms, unlike Wal-mart. I also really like the coupon every week in the Sunday paper for a penny item at Publix when you spend $10 dollars or more. A few times they have been out of an item I really liked and they ordered it for me numerous times. I wouldn't shop anywhere else.

The selection at Publix is adequate, but inconsistent on many items. That isn't a big problem, if I really want the item, I am sure they will order it for me. My problem is with the produce and the meat. I have never seen lettuce in Publix that wasn't already turning brown, and the red onions are always loaded with rotton areas, and the green peppers are just disgusting. I am sure they get the right price, and we accept it, so they keep buying it. I will stick to a real butcher shop for my meats, as the display cases at Publix look to me more like a dumpster after the butcher is finished trimming.

Publix is the best of all grocery chains. Their stores are super clean, the employees are very courteous and helpful and the meat and produce are top of the line. I wish they had Publix in the north. UPDATE: Similar to the large Kroger stores in the north but I like Publix much better.

Publix in the Miami area has the absloute worst customer service EVER!!! I am boycotting the place...I will be paying more for my groceries at Winn-Dixie but I have never had a bad experience!!!! Even the manager was RUDE to me....Do NOT go to Publix in Hialeah FL in El Mercado Shopping Center...it seems the workers run the store and the manager is NEVER around unless he wants to harass you.

Publix is an evil, evil empire. I feel ashamed being employed, dirty even. There pay is less than great. They even acknowledge that the pay LESS than the legal standard (in some cases). They are a company for money. They "treat their employees well" so they can keep their name clean and profits up. The better I am at my job, the more money they get in return. It's just like any other company that everyone thinks is so grand. They are all greedy! And a lot of them are retarded too!

I can't say enough nice things about this store. I shop at several locations in the Atlanta suburbs. Most employees are very friendly, customer service always accepts returns without any hassle, items are free if they ring up at the wrong price, stores are clean, managers are available to assist when needed. They also offer to take the groceries out to your car, which I usually decline, but is a great service for those needing help. All around the best grocery store that I've shopped in.

Publix has no close competitor in the state of Florida in terms of quality of product, pricing, variety, cleanliness, and customer service. This is one of the best run companies of which I know. They have a reputation for treating employees extremely well. Happy employees translate their contentment into happy customer service.

By far Publix is the best supermarket chain in the U.S. Cleanest stores!!! Safeway's nasty out dated food. Walmart sodium injected meat, and employees not willing to help you!! Winn Dixie has the dirtiest stores, Publix prices are not that unreasonable. Mark my words in the next 10 to 15 years Publix will be a dominate player in most of U.S.

I like shopping at Publix....usually although I live in Eagle Harbor, Orange Park, Florida, I drive to the Mandarin Road Publx....the service is exceptional and they ALWAYS have everything I need.... Eagle Harbor is a good store....but two things that are not good.....too many kids running around and screaming.....very distracting and they have such a high customer base, it is hard to find many things available... Publix is a good clean store with friendly employees.

As a Publix employee and someone who doesn't have the most money to spend, I recognize two important things. One, that Publix tends to add a few cents more to products than warehouses do. Two, that Publix beats out just about every other store in the way of customer service and cleanliness. I've only been to one where the customer service was poor, while the dozens of others I've seen have great customer service. Publix strives for customer service and clean facilities and products. If you find something below average, they include the manager's name on the reciept and encourage customers to contact the division office if the store's manager is uncooperative. So, for great products, cleanliness, and service, if not the best prices, I give Publix a 4 out of 5 stars.

The customer service at the meat counter couldn't be better anywhere else. They cut their meat right at the window where you can watch them, ask them questions, get advice. The meat manager named Steve will go out of his way to help any customer even out of his department. Over all the store that I shop at on Venice Island, I give it a 10, for customer service, quality, and value.

(Rating based on 2 locations in Gainesville, FL) I've never even heard of this place until I've moved down here, and once you get beyond childishly snickering at the name ( . . . oh, what, like YOU weren't thinking it? Come on . . . ), it's actually a really decent place. CLEANLINESS: 5/5. I have no complaints. PRICES: 4/5. Way more reasonable than Albertson's, but, well, it's hard to give it a "5" after shopping at warehouse stores all my life. SERVICE: 5/5. Yeah, I know the Deli guys are SUPPOSED to give you samples if you ask. But, I'm not used to them OFFERING, and they'll give you samples just to see if you like the thickness of the slices. Not that I'd be that picky about it, but it's still a nice gesture. And cashiers and baggers in the front are generally pretty nice. SELECTION: 4/5. It's okay; nothing extraordinary, it's good enough, though. OVERALL: About a 4.5 out of 5. It's a place that I can feel comfortable shopping at.

Publix off of Kingsway and Windhorst is, by far, the worst Publix I have ever been in. Customer service in the Deli and at the checkout counters is non-existent. Why would the employee's be friendly when the front managers are horrible examples. They all wear mugs on their faces like I do not want to be here. I remember before this store was built, the closest publix was Valrico and the managers there were EXTREMELY nice...always smiling..even if they didnt want to be there, they never showed it... the cashiers were friendly...maybe they learned it from the managers. The only department that seems to be halfway decent at Kingsway is the produce department. With above average prices one would think that Publix would strive to compete by friendliness and customer service...guess it is hard times when you can't even get the managers to smile and be friendly....I have been in this Publix numerous times not just once...and this is a DAILY thing..not just one bad day...The only reason...
