Wed Sep 03 2008There are a lot of psychology majors. And I'm not really sure what they do after they graduate.

Wed Jul 09 2008The most popular major, and one of the most dubious. The basics of psychology still don't go very far beyond common sense. Most of the pioneering work in psychology has been done by biologists and neuroscientist, not psychologists. Abnormal Psych is fun though, and a major in this field could be useful in careers beyond psychiatry (law enforcement, social work, advertising or business).

Fri May 23 2008This is my major also, People major in psychology for various reasons. Many wish to continue their studies in graduate or professional schools of psychology. Others may enroll in non- psychology professional programs such as law, education or social work. Still others study psychology to gain an understanding of people, for later use in management, teaching or other business-related careers. Many students enter directly into psychology- related positions in such areas as rehabilitation or human services.also, psychology provides a vehicle for personal development and one avenue for pursuing a liberal arts education. Whatever one's reasons for choosing this major, the study of psychology will broaden one's knowledge of people and their behavior and teach one how to study behavior in a scientific way

Tue May 01 2007I admit psychology is a really easy major in undergraduate school. However, the only people who get a bachelor's degree in psychology are stupid bimbos who use their boobs to get through life and never have to work at all. I hate them. I hate them so much. I HATE THEM people who get phych degrees just to graduate!!!!!!! These stupid bimbos ruined the academic reputation of psychology. I'M PISSED

Fri Dec 30 2005My major was Equestrian but my minor was Psychology and Im glad it was. What a neat field. My advisor was the Psych advisor because I knew what my requirements were for the horse part, he helped with the schedule so I could graduate. Equestrian schedules were hard to work around and my Equine advisor was no help getting me into classes.

Mon Dec 19 2005My friend majored in psychology. It's a great way to get into a field to be a counselor or a psychologist and help people get their lives back on track.

Tue Mar 22 2005It's starting to show cracks. . .medical science has really leapfrogged psych. in behavioral applications. It is a rather easy degree compared to some others. . .

Wed Nov 17 2004I'm a psyc major. I despise the people who major in this because it's the 'easy' major. psyche - mind logos - study psychology = study of the mind That's a pretty cool thing to study if you ask me. As a relatively new SCIENCE, many advancements still need to be made. Yes, it's not as concrete a science as perhaps physics or chemistry, because it studies human behavior. Worthwhile field of study if you ask me. We're all human. We all behave. That's what controls the world. Alright. I prefer biopsychology, because a lot of the other theories (Freud) seem rather absurd. Perhaps, as more biology in the brain is understood, psychology will earn a more respected position. I know the psyc degree isn't worth much in the real world unless you go to grad school. I've realized this and am pursuing a second major. Still, I don't like to see the field that I'm passionate about to be slammed by people who generally only know what pop culture has to say about the subject.

Wed Jul 14 2004There's a reason why psychology is the most popular major in america. Since it is arbitrary in nature, it requires little math--except for the manipulation of biased statistics to prove a point--and relatively little insight, and most cases can be diagnosed by looking in a textbook. In other words, it is not a difficult field, and gives people plenty of space to BS their way out of a problem, and for the most part deals with people that can't be helped. That's the goal of a psychologist..to NOT solve problems of people so that they keep coming back. At least GOOD psychiatrists have the potential to help people who have mental illnesses and don't even know with medication. Besides, what good is a B.A. in Psych? If you want a job washing dishes, working in a factory, or possibly being a supervisor at a retail store, go for it. If you want a challenging career that involves your mind, do something more scientific than the pseudoscience of psychology.
