Mon Nov 01 2010I have used propecia for 10 years in conjunction with saw palmetto. I have not had any negative sexual side effects, although I had initially heard of this possibility. Men who have lost their libido, can't ejaculate, or can't get it up? Wow--maybe I've been lucky, but nothing like that has occurred in my case. I did have a drop in testosterone levels and decreased ejaculate, but I'm not sure of the cause and effect connection. I didn't notice those effects for a couple of years and now I'm in my 60s so that probably has something to do with it. I now use a daily testosterone gel and those problems have disappeared. I have not had new growth, however, but I have not had any additional loss. I don't regret taking propecia, but it's too expensive and my insurance doesn't cover it. I'm checking to see if the generic version is as good as the original. Has anyone noticed any difference between the generic and the name brand? Also, is it true that once you're beyond a certain age, minoxidri... Read more

Tue Oct 05 2010I took Propecia for probably the last 8 years and noticed a stopping of shedding, which then returned a few months after I stopped. What I want to convey is my concern about the sexual side effects! It wasn't immediate so I didn't know what the issue was at first. I still don't know for 100% certainty if Propecia is to blame, but after reading reviews here and elsewhere I'm amazed at how similar my experiences are. My hardons are like 40% what they used to be, I have a really hard time ejaculating, I'm in the mood much less often, and when I'm not turned on my penis even seems smaller. I also have struggled with anxiety and depression, have a hard time mentally focusing on anything, etc. It's really embarrassing for a guy who dates to have the sex problems, and it's also harmed my career with the confused/foggy brain stuff. Also gained about 30 pounds, although of course exact cause/effect is hard to know for sure. I haven't been taking the Propecia for almost a year now and the sid... Read more

Tue May 04 2010Generic Propecia (FINASTERIDE) is the first and only FDA approved pill proven to treat male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of head) and anterior mid-scalp area in men. Mon Nov 16 2009I started noticing bald spots a few years ago. Oy vey. I heard about Propecia and started taking it by the book. Long story short, it wasn't meeting my expectations. Then, a friend of mine recommended a new product: Dr. Lewenberg's Formula. Dr. Lewenberg's Formula has been fast acting, easy to use, and simply getting the job done. I highly recommend Dr. Lewenberg's Formula to anyone who is really looking for great results in a hair growth product.

Sun Nov 15 2009Fantastic medication. I read online that 9 out of 10 men are able to recoup hair growth after taking it. There was a good deal online at http://www.BuyMedicine.info on Generic Propecia, which worked out better for me instead of getting brand name stuff. It started working after about 3 months. I had some good hair growth, especially in areas that I thought were done growing, LOL. I usually experience some side effects with most medicines, but with Propecia I did not, which was a relief. Some of my buddies said that they noticed a decrease in sex drive, but I think since I started exercising regularly, it helped make up for whatever the meds did. I rate this an A+. Here's the link to where I bought it from: http://www.buymedicine.info/item/generic_propecia.h tml

Thu Aug 06 2009I have been using the generic propecia 1mg for few months and it is really working fine with me. Only precaution you need to take is you should not take few medications along with it which will increase the intensity of the side effects. For the details the medications that you should not take you can have a look at http://www.internationaldrugmart.com/propecia.html

Fri Jul 31 2009I was 27 and had VERY thin hair and a receding hairline. I was completely covered in thick hair except for where it counted, so I decided to so something about it. My doctor suggested Propecia. I never noticed any results until about the three month point. I started to see some regrowth and it seemed as though my forehead stopped growing. It really works! I have noticeably thicker hair (you can only see my scalp from the sides now), and I'm more confident because of it. There were a few side effects though. Increased appetite had me gain some weight and the girth of my penis seems to have reduced to about 3/4 of an inch (from one inch). But IT'S WORTH IT! Fri Mar 13 2009This is absolutely the greatest product invented for those in the early stages of hair loss. I started losing my hair in grade 9 - 14 years old. I am an observant person and I notice every hair that falls off my head, which eventually trickles onto your paper or keyboad - I hated it! As years went by, 18,19,20... I noticed I was developing a receding hair line, my worst nightmare. I said my prayers to the Lord Jesus Christ plently of times asking for a miracle. Finally he provided me with the courage to get off my a@@ and talk to a medical physician. He recommended minioxidal as a vasodilator - a substance that dilates blood vessels, thus increasing the amount of blood around the follicules. Good, but I wanted something that would disrupt the chemistry behind hairloss (damn DHT). Anyways, I have been using propecia for almost two months and no more itchy buzzed hair, hair line is becoming far more defined, and very little hair loss. Rather than losing 5 hairs on my pillow a day, its d... Read more

Sat Nov 08 2008I experienced extreme fatigue, anxiety, depression, gynecomastia, apathy, anorgasma, penile fibrosis, penile numbness, loss of nighttime erections and endless hormonal imbalances. I took this drug for 1 year and 4 months. The anxiety and depression affected me almost immediately although I was completely clueless as to the cause. I cycled through every single anti-depressant and ADHD medication trying to solve this problem. It wasn't until I stopped the medication that I realized it was the Propecia. THESE SIDE EFFECTS HAVE NOT SUBSIDED AT ALL SEVEN MONTHS LATER! I would not wish this on my worst enemy. This drug has literally destroyed my life. I know that no one wants to lose their hair and look unattractive, but just imagine how attractive you will be if you are one of the unfortunate few of us that gets gynecomastia, penile fibrosis, and inability to ejaculate (I CANNOT EVEN MASTRUBATE TO ORGASM after taking this drug). If you value your life then I strongly suggest you find some ... Read more

Thu Feb 21 2008I recently had hair transplant surgery 2 months ago and I seem to have less hair now than before even though I had 2400 grafts , how long does it take to know if the transplant surgery was sussesful?. I also started taking Finasteride 1mg tablets and was wondering if Propecia is worth the money as opposed to the generic Finasteride tablets? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you

Tue Apr 10 2007I've been on Propecia for over 7 years now. I started young and it has worked. I've kept what hair I have and regrown some of the hair I lost. In my late 20's I felt a huge drop in my testosterone levels. I started taking testosterone supplements as well as a men's daily supplement. Within a few month I was feeling myself again. I would recommend Propecia and also seeing a nutritionist if you feel any side effects.

Mon Jul 03 2006I haveto agree with some of you. Propecia has side effects. It didn't effect me sexually, but it threw me off the balance. Chemical embalance is bad. If I were you I would think twice before perchasing this product. I used it for 3 years. It not only didn't do anything at all, but I felt depressed and aggrivated most of the time. the thing about this medication is that it's a hormonal drug. It reduces your level of tastestirone(important male hormone)and throws you off the balance. Be careful!

Wed Dec 14 2005Works great to grow hair...if you dont mind being impotent and have a messed up hormonal balance. Propecia has ruined liked check out newsgroup on yahoo. Anyway it grows hair real good if you dont have sides but be careful. I had no sides till about 5 years into taking it and now I am suffering from possible permanent hormonal balance problems. been off Propecia for one year now and still suffering from sides....be careful.. I myself has switched to minoxidil as it is a topical.

Thu Jul 17 2003I tried propecia for a little while I quit because of too many side affects. I felt spacey and had a greatly increased appetite. I think it did prevent further hair loss. I switched to a herbal product that goes under the name of shen min and had no side affects and no hair loss anymore. I later started purchasing it in bulk much cheaper. I use it along with saw palmetto and the combinaion works well E-mail me I will send you more info. [email protected]
