okay these reviews are truly ridiculous. I go to princeton right now and we are definitely not elitist snobs. We don't drive rolls royce, everyone I know has creaky little bikes they can barely afford. most of the students here are relying on intense financial aid and worked their asses off their whole lives just to be called an elitist snob? I am the first in my family to even go to college and I am insulted by people who assume I'm from a rich legacy family. I love the school even though it is the most challenging experience of my life I am thankful everyday to have the opportunity to go here and thankful for the fact that they care about my education enough to pay for my way through for me when I definitely can't afford it (financial aid is glorious here). Definitely apply if you are a hard worker and don't take lies from people who don't even go to the school.

This is one of the top ten in the country.

I am not going to generalize the whole princeton community, because people do that with duke and it really makes me angry. But I will say that my personal and the people I know that go there are conservative, elitist snobs. This is pretty much going to be the case at any top school though, so you take the bad with the good

Using growth of character and individual satisfaction with the experience, Princeton is ranked #1, which is evidenced by its top alumni giving rate. The school has the most beautiful campus of the Ivies, has a vibrant social scene (the Street), has one of the lowest teacher-student ratios in the country with the professors mostly focused on the undergrads, and has great financial aid. HS juniors - if you want a cooler scene than Harvard with world class professors who know your name, go to Princeton.

Princeton is an excellent academic institution. It has a rigorous course load and some demanding classes. It's still top notch yet is the epitome of Ivy Leage stuffiness and high brow elitism ( well, Harvard is like that too, but Princeton is more pretentious about it). Princeton will tell you the Ivies are HYP - Harvard, Yale, Princeton, hoping to link themselves to their more distinguished mates. Basketball has helped elevate the profile of the school.

so sad all of you who screwed up in high school and didn't get into the school you felt you deserved to get into. My brother got into Princeton and he isn't rich (he got financial aid), he works hard, he is extremeley curious and has always done alot of public service. His mode of transport is a bike. He did get a 1600 on his SAT's without a course. He did get perfect scores or nearly perfect on most of his SAT II's. AND- he did like Princeton, because it was an undergraduate focused school that pours resources into bright curious kids who work hard.

Quoting Thomas Jefferson: To stop where we are is to abandon our high hopes, and become suitors to Yale and Harvard for their secondary characters. Princeton rocks!

Rich elitist snobs! Princeton admits more than half of their rich legacy applicants (meanwhile the overall acceptance rate is only ~10%). It's a bad school for Blacks, Hispanics, gays & other minority groups. It's still got the same old boys club mentality that it did when Donald Rumsfeld went there. My cousin got rejected from one of the eating clubs because her family income was less than $200,000.

Bunch of pigs who make the "food clubs" a fraternity. yeah, I agree with you folks who say that Princeton students are total snobs who are spoiled. They drive BMW's, benz, ..some even have ROlls Royce!!! Princeton doesn't have a law school, med school....so the graduate program..is basically a laughing stock.

The only prerequisite for admission to Princeton is to be a respectable squash/lacrosse player or to have someone in the family who graduated from the school without dropping out or committing a felony.

They are so elitist that they don't even like to accept instate residents... screw them.

WASP country club anybody?

Gorgeous campus, top-rated undergraduate school, charming surroundings, one hour from New York City. Extremely competitive admissions process. Only the cream of the crop are accepted. Can't say enough good things. It's the best and I've seen all of the Ivy Leagues and Stanford.

Most people get mo dumber after going to school there.

As an undergrad institution, Princeton is superior to all of the other Ivies (and by extension, to all of the other universities in the United States, and possibly in the world). Anyone who feels that they must go to Harvard should save it for Med/Law/Business school.

After visiting I was turned off by the snobbish attitude. Students should learn to leave the pretension at home! It does have a beautiful campus, just a cold student body.

I will be nice if i will study in your university

Princeton is special among the Ivy League schools in its focus on the undergraduate student body. There is no medical school, law school, or B-school so the majority of graduate studies are in the arts and sciences and do not detract from undergraduate education. Money used to recruit faculty directly benefits the undergraduates. Full professors teach all courses and most often lead the small group preceptor sessions...they are among the most accessible faculty I have come accross. The campus is probably the most beaufitul I have ever seen. The social life remains a bit segmented with a lot of time spent at the eating clubs, but this is one of those things that makes Princeton unique. The athletics are top notch in many areas (including lacrosse, basketball, swimming, squash..) despite the fact that Princeton does not offer "full-ride "scholarships. Princeton was a very special undergraduate experience...and the experience continues after graduation in life-long friendships, yearly reunions, and a very active alumni network.

I am graduating from Princeton this spring and couldn't be happy with my choice in colleges. Fun social life, good classes, great campus... and most of all, really, really great people...

The best of the prestige universities when it comes to undergrad. Beautiful campus, fun social life, great traditions, good sports, great access to renowned profs since the grad school is fairly marginalized. Pretty ideal all things considered...

I enjoyed so much visiting the campus. Beafutiful buildings, nice town, friendly people, and an artistic feeling in the air everywhere I went. The Art and Music programs, at least, are excellent.
