An excellent family and comedy movie. I think Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews were great choices to play their parts.

A nice family movie. An awkward teenage girl finds out from her estranged grandmother that she is a princess. She has three weeks to be transformed for a ball and also to decide if she wants to go with her grandmother to be a princess of the country Genovia. Julie Andrews is wonderful as the queen of Genovia who gets to know her granddaughter and helps her to change to a princess status Anne Hathaway did a nice job as the shy teenager who finds out she is really a princess. It is nice to see a movie that is decent and does not stoop to bathroom humor.

If you go in viewing this movie as what it is, a harmless, happy cinderella story, then you will find that you enjoy it a great deal. I fell in love with Anne Hathaway after seeing this movie. Anyone who doesn't see a more than a few smiles in this movie has forgotten the joys that accompany innocence.

It was okay. It wasn't as good as the books though. They changed a lot of things in the movie that didn't really happen in the book. And vise versa. Things that happened in the book but didn't happen in the movie. It is very cute though.

Julie Andrews made a great queen but then she is good in almost any film she does. It's a cute movie.

Book was ten times better, but since it was a Disney movie and they wanted it to be PG they had to censor it a lot. Did an OK job.

What's this? A G-rated movie that isn't animated? What a surprise! A heartwarming and comedic movie in the classic disney fashion. Also, keep an eye for an "out of this world" cameo from a certain sci-fi franchise! :) Not quite madcap enough, though.

A nerdy girl living with her post ‘60’s hippie/artist mom in San Francisco suddenly discovers she’s heir to the throne of some little known European country. I don’t know about you but this happens EVERY freaking day where I live! I might have overlooked this being one of the more contrived situations I’ve ever seen on film if it had at least been entertaining. (I know, it’s Disney and if they didn’t invent this kind of schmaltz they ARE the most successful at perfecting it.) While it really wasn’t the worst waste of celluloid ever committed it does suffer from an anemic uneven quality from the start and does not recover. Just when you think it might break free and fly it dips, sputters and hovers in some kind of what do-I-do-next-limbo. My overall feeling about this film is that it affects me the way its director Gary Marshall does when he speaks – starts out like its going to say something interesting but never quiet gets there. Since it wasn't obscene in any way I'll be genero... Read more

Loved it, Julie Andrews still as wonderful an actress/Actor as she ever was. Hope they utilize this talented actress more.

Movie was surprisingly good, and to tell the truth, quite amusing. The yelling at people in different languages was side-splitting, and whoever played the Queen did a wonderful job. A real family movie.

Julie Andrews is awesome, and some of it was funny, but I thought that Anne Hathaway would never stop being annoying.
