I have had the P-PR Power Rack for about 4 months now - with 2-3 workouts a week, it is probably long enough to give an honest review. What I like: a) Solid build - feels like it could take as much weight as I could handle in a squat/bench scenario. b) Very easy to put together. I did it by myself no problem. c) Fairly light weight and smaller size - I can move this easily by myself.* See what I don't like. c) Nice pull up and dipping bars* See what I don't like. d) I would likely buy this again. What I don't like: I don't have any real concerns with the rack, but there are a few things I have had to make due with. Nothing here is a deal breaker. a) I am 5'10", I cannot due a military press inside of the rack due to the racks shorter height. This may be a plus for those with lower ceilings. Pressing outside of the rack is of course the easy solution. b) I am 200lbs. Due to the racks smaller size/weight, I do experience some movement if the rack is ... Read more

This power rack is truly commercial quality as is all powertec equipment. I purchased this piece directly from the manufacturer for 449.00 along with the olympic/narrow bench for 249.00 and paid $43 shipping. I suggest checking out the manufacturer site first as you may be able to get it cheaper. The rack is very solid. It does not sway or move during use. It holds 1,000 pounds which is great for all users whether you are a new lifter, or a seasoned veteran or elite athlete. The rack is made for home use so it is shorter than a commercial power rack and the space inside the rack is smaller. There is plenty of space though. I use it primarily for squats and works great. The pull up bars are ok. The positioning is great but the covers for them are not very thick and the bars are pretty thin. I wrap a small hand towel around the bars to make them thicker. The dips bars are very solid. Make sure you use the dip bars inside the rack, not to the outside as if you use them to the outs... Read more

What can I say? This thing is solid and doesn't look ugly at home. My only complaint is that I have to move those little handles that hold the bar in place when switching between regular and incline bench presses. I wish it would come with two pairs of handles. BTW, putting it together was a breeze. Only one size of nuts and bolts are used. Less tools, fast assembling.

Buy this if you work out at home--it is essential. A utility bench is also essential (but the Powertec bench is overpriced--look at your local sporting goods store or on craigslist for a bench). I purchased this in 10/2008 for $499 (w/ free shipping). It arrived within a week. I love it. The rack is totally solid, and was easy to assemble. I was sold on this rack because of the dip bars and pull-up bars--and they are better than I imagined. The dip bars are angled and can be attached in either direction (pointing in or out) so you can do wide dips or triceps dips regardless of your size. After working out with a makeshift home gym for over a year (sawhorses, doing dips on ladders) this rack has changed everything--I am already lifting much heavier weight just knowing that the rack is there to catch if I fail. Seriously--if you work out at home, buy this. It will change your life and save you from injury.

I had been waiting for the price to drop down to $349 like some reviewers had noted but I ended up buying it at $499 anyway for my birthday. I received it well before the estimated date. It weighs over 200 pounds but it was shipped in two long but compact boxes making it easier to handle. The assembly was very easy. I put it together by myself although it would be easier with a helper. The rack feels very solid and I am very pleased with it so far. One of the main reasons I purchased it compared to the alternatives was the pullup bar, but I was pleasantly surprised that it had dip bar attachments as well. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase so far. I look forward to lifting big and lifting safe!
