Thu Jan 05 2006I was hesitant when my husband suggested getting this for our 13-month-old daughter for Christmas. But I figured since we had the money and it'd be something she could grow into, then why not. She took to it right away. She immediately figured how to get in and out. She figured out the horn and the engine buttons. It took her about a week or so to realize that the red button makes it go. She doesn't understand steering, but she never lets off the button. I turned the steering wheel all the way to the right and let her go in circles in the back yard. It goes over the grass no problem and only bogs down a little in areas of the yard where the grass is a little thicker. I've had no problem with the steering like others have noted - but of course she's not steering that much. My husband did say never to pick it up by the steering wheel - so maybe that was something that played a role in the problem. The straps could be designed a little better - maybe like that in a stroller. O... Read more

Fri Sep 02 2005I would send a picture of him on it with this but do not see the option. My son says that my grandson loves this Go Kart. I sent to him for his 1st birthday so he has time to grow into it for at least a year or two. Great product!!

Thu Aug 18 2005Bought this for son when he turned 1 year. He was able able to push the button by 1.5 but the steering does not work. We have taken it apart and put it back together thinking that may be the problem and even put oil on the moving parts. It just doesn't seem to turn well. The mechanism for the steering is flimsy at best -a rod with a hook on the end and its quite frustrating for our little boy. It also gets stuck easy in grass which is frustrating for all. I would just wait till they can drive a bigger version. We are looking at purchasing a 12V vehicle now at age 2.

Mon Jun 27 2005How cute is this car? Very cute our son is the talk of the neighborhood. When we first put him in it, he sat there grinning for about half an hour, then spent the rest of the time grinning on the go. If we take him out he tries to climb back in but can't get past the steering wheel. When looking for a main gift for our sons first birthday, battery powered cars was the first category I looked into, there where a few options all of which were made by power wheels, if I remember correctly. It was between the Lil Kawasaki, Lil, Quad and of course the get set & go kart. We went with the get set and go kart because it was low to the ground and has a seat belt. Parents if you think this seat belt is going to potentially save your child's life its not. Its nothing more than a shoe lace with Velcro. My 1 year and 1 day old son is constantly unstrapping himself and climbing out. It goes 2 miles per hour. Which is a nice pace for this age group. When I saw 2 miles per hour, on t... Read more
