Mon Mar 27 2006I'm on my 2nd new Boxster S (2005) and am always pleased with the performance for the price. For anyone considering the smaller engine Boxster, spend the extra money and buy an S or you will be disappointed with the acceleration. I love the fast automatic convertible top. This is my first tiptronic and wow, I am impressed that it shifts as fast as I can with a manual. I am very pleased at getting 26mpg, considering gas prices. I recently test drove a new Honda S2000, since I read they call it 'the Boxster killer.' I can say I was NOT impressed by the awkward pedal placement and shifting. The car allowed much more outside noise in compared the the Boxster. The new S2000 also had a rattle. My Boxster S is nearly a year old and still no rattle. However, in defense of the S2000, the price tag is half that of the Boxster S. I paid $62,000 and the Boxster S is nicely accessorized. If anyone thinks they can walk in and buy a new Boxster S for $45,000, they were mislead by Porsche... Read more

Sat Jan 07 2006I was really wanting to be impressed by this car, but for the price it didn't manage to get me excited. Nice for a small car, but nothing special.

Wed Nov 23 2005The Porsche Boxter is a really nice car. I've driven one at my work and they are very comfy well balanced cars. I have owned all sorts of cars.. Toyota Celica's, AE86 Corolla's, Miata, Twin Turbo FD3S RX-7, AWD turbo 323... I've driven countless other people's cars such as MR2's, cameros, mustangs, 911 Carrera 4, lexus SC430, SC400, SR20 powered 240's, Corvett's, Nissan Skylines, turbo II rx-7, Mazdaspeed Miata, Supra's, Twin Turbo 300ZX's, etc.... I have experiance in cars and driving them. and i can say that the Porsche Boxter is a really nice sports car, hands down. BTW.... Toyotas are actually really well known for their reliability and i actually see more 70's toyotas on the road than i do porsche's... I'd say Toyota has to be one of the most long lasting most reliable cars ever. My toyotas i've owned are great cars... my AE86 only failed once after i installed a custom T25 turbo kit and over boosted with too high oil pressure.

Mon Nov 21 2005I have driven many cars and motorcycles. Nothing compares to a Boxster so far. Superb handling, excellent looks, interior. Will embarass almost anything on the road in the twisties. Even C6 owners must force a grin and wink when I press them! Boxster S quality / value beat C6 Z51 w/ auto-top in my comparo, so I bought and have not been let down. Nothing beats a PORSCHE so go get it...if you don't like - trade for a C6 and go fast in a straight line, but keep it forever lest the trade-in!

Fri Sep 09 2005i want everyone to understand something. cars are made for some people in particular. no one likes everything, so if you are in a market for a car of your dreams, just follow your heart, all man made items breakdown, so if you are expecting to buy something that would never give you problems, you are kidding yourself--that said..the boxster is a wonderful car and you have to either love it or hate it, which ever is your choice who cares...we love our car and when we feel its time to let go, we do that!!!!!!!if you have a boxster, you have a great german car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!enjoy it

Fri Jan 07 2005Mine needed a new engine because the pipe that connected the trans to the engine got warped. A common problem, I found out.

Mon Dec 13 2004The Porsche Boxster is a really nice car if that's what you desire in a car. I love it and for those who don't, that's okay because they desire a different ride. However I must say that ANSGARD is an ass with no class!

Wed Nov 24 2004I would rate this car as the perfect machine. I am sure that those who rated it lower than excellent are either passing through comments by hear-say or by being jeallous of not having being able to own one. It fits like a glove and behaves like a dream.

Thu Jun 12 2003Hmmmmm. I don´t know what to say. Obviously there are some who has never driven a Boxter and some who just love it. I´ll try to be a bit more objective. I own a Boxter S model 2002. It is true that the Porsche is expensive byt few other cars keep their second hand value as good as a Porsche. The boxter comes in 3 engine versions: 2,5 litre 2,7 litre and finaly the "S". The 2,5 litre is said to be a bit underpowered. The 2,7 litre is the middle model witch is probably the best value for your money. Then there is the 3,2 litre witch also has a 6 speed gearbox and bigger brakes. It all depends on what you look for in a car. The BMW Z3 is also a nice car when you get the 2,8 litre engine and up. Porsche like ferrari has always sat the standard for sportscars and will therefor always be a bit "pricy". But to go as far as saying that the Boxter is bad car or not a "real" porchse is just plain ignorance. RedCelicaGT, you surely mean the elder 911 engines that had this kind of problem and woul... Wed Mar 26 2003None of the people writting about this car have ever even been in one! I have one, and it is a great car! None of the people rating this car have ever been in one! Next time hold your rating until you know somthing about what you are rating! I'm sure your Honda or Datsun is just wonderful but I have a PORSCHE. To: RedCelicaGT The Boxster can go 15,000 miles between oil changes lets see your Toyota do that.

Mon Nov 13 2000Once again, overrated yuppie crap. This car DOES NOT perform up to its price tag, contrary to the biased "car enthusiast" magazines. If you want to be cramped, uncomfortable, and underpowered, buy a Boxster. It does handle well though.

Tue Sep 19 2000OKOL1170M obviously cannot afford a Boxster. I would bet $10,000 that this guy only has a Honda or Nissan of some sort. The only people that take the time to rant about the Boxster not being a "real" Porsche are not successful enough (and probably not educated enough) to afford one. They are also the same people that wouldn't know a 550A Spyder, "Number One," an RSK, or a 904 if it ran over them from behind. The Boxster is an amalgamation of all the classic lines of Porsche, and more importantly, all the classic notions of what a open two-seat roadster from Porsche should be. By the way, in addition to my Boxster, I also have a Ferrari 308, so don't tell me I don't know a thing or two about sportscars.

Tue Oct 26 1999The Porsche Boxter is not a real porsche. It is for people who can't afford a real one.
