I had a 1979 with a 6.6L and loaded with t-tops. I cleaned every car I raced including mustangs, Chevells, and newer 5.7L and high output T/A's. Too bad the newer ones looked too close to a Sunfire and the early 80's had no power. I hope for a return in 2008!

I owned a 2001 Black WS-6 with ALL the options....multiple CD changer, T-Tops, Performance axle ratio, posi-traction, and of course the useless traction control. I lived at that time in Buffalo NY and only drove it on sunny days and dry nights. It was a dream. In the garage for 99% of the winter, I would go out to it on freezing cold nights and start it up, listen to the exhaust rumble with a beer in hand, dusting it off with my California duster. I had it for two summers (and two winters) then we had to give it up due to financial circumstances. When I let it go, it had 1400 miles on the clock and the rear seatbelts, which came buckled from the factory, were still buckled....and in the back cargo area, my t-top shades were still in the original plastic bags. That was a sad day indeed...long live the WS-6 T/A...

I have a '94 Formula with 125,000 miles. Not a WS-6, not ram air, just the LT-1 6 speed with no aftermarket mods. It's a great dependable driver with real power. I completely love the car. I've had about 30 cars and this is my third Firebird. I am completely impressed with the fuel economy, styling, and everything else about it. Handling is awesome. I would buy this car again absolutely. I believe the people who say this car is ugly are prejudiced. Maybe they're Ford heads or "mesquito muscle" enthusiasts. As far as I'm concerned American muscle rules.

I own a 2001 Sunset Orange Metallic Firebird T/A WS6 and I love it. This car is the meanest looking car on the road today -- and probably for many years to come -- and even though it's no longer in production it still turns heads everywhere it goes. The six-speed gear box is excellent, the torque is amazing, with simple mods you can put this car in the 11s or 10s. Mine goes from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds just with the GMMG exhaust and SLP intake lid. Mustangs are a joke, and keeping up with porsches is fun. Like everyone said, whoever rates this car with less than 5 stars don't know anything about muscle cars. Reaching 80mph in 2nd gear is not for everyone.

Love Trans Ams, the only thing that i don't like is trying to get in and out of them, but hey, when you buy a muscle car that does 0-60 in 5 flat, you shouldn't expect to get in and out of it like a Lexus, i hate when people judge this car with Lexus criteria, it's a muscle car!!! it was built to do one thing, go fast, sound cool, and get you attention from everyone watching.

I love to drive this car that is why I give it a three. The reliablity is not up to my standards. I have this, a Focus, and a 2001 Honda Accord V6, and this one has by far the most problems. I have 56000 miles and have several problems. Compressor out, power steering went out, break line went out, suspension needs to be replaced, and I had an exhaust leak. I one of my light motors does not work. Basically I would never have this car as an everyday driver but love it as my weekend sportster. 5/5 as pure drving experience, 1/5 in realiability. In GM's defense, after this model (1998) they have worked and made this a more reliable vehicle but mine is not

It's ok. It's unique in it's own way. I wouldn't mind having one, but it's not hte best.

I actually own a 2001 pontiac trans am firebird, I love the 325 hp and 350 lbs-foot of torque. It handles like a dream...the ppl who gave this car a one are a bunch of communist tree hugging morons without a wallet to afford this fine american car. By the way im 17 and have used my summer job money since i was 6 to pay for this car which i bought used with 18000 miles on her.

The people that gave this great all american sports car 1's dont know what theyre talkin about. Everybody that gave it good ratings actually own it and have driven it. The people who gave it bad ratings dont know what theyre talkin about because theyve never ridden in one or cause theyre jealous of this ledgend!

I have my own 99 model with the LS1 and all the trimmings. Great looks, performance and reliability. An American classic that has held true to superior style and performance. Easily beats any stock V8 Mustang and most camaros. Gorgeous car that puts the import world to shame all around. Obviously you really do get what you pay for.

The Trans Am is an American classic. It easily beats any stock or V8 Mustang and beats most Camaro's. One of the last real muscle cars, it had unfortunately been taken over by slow moving imports.

I have a Pontiac Firebird that I dearly love! This car is a 98 model, ram air, all the sleek and stylish features, wonderful gas mileage and tons of great power to boot! This car runs, and looks like it did when it was new. I have known other owners who have put these wonderful rear wheeled cars through the ringer and them come out looking and running great. Great car, but it is sad that they are discontinuing them.

Very nice frilly car but not a z28, more of a female sports car.

The Firebird ( and Camaro for that matter) is *dead*, a victim of its own crudeness, atrocious styling and poor reliability. You can't blame the imports for GM's unwillingness to stick with its muscle cars, especially when no one wants to buy them.

The trans am is one of the best american cars today. yes it can beat a mustang but not a cobra type R. its a shame that pontiac is not going to make them any more.

Fast indeed but rude, crude and plain out ugly. Further, fit and finish is not up to standards for a car that can end up costing more than $30K. JAPANESE cars forever (the Acura NSX especially)!
