I saw the ad in the paper for 5 chihuahua cross puppies so I called and they made me wait for 4 days before I got a call back ( the doctor was supposedly very busy) when I finally got there it was 1 dog that was not a puppy and not a chihuahua and they said that they found him on the street. Don't be fooled by their tricks!

This is the worst place my family and I have ever been. My big dog broke my 2.6 pound dogs frount right leg, I called animal humane for help and they reffered me to Ponderosa Animal Clinic because I needed a vet that would take payments. We dropped Tatter Tot off and came back for him the next day and they said we could NOT have our dog unless we paid $380 and that their was no payment arrangements they do not take payments. They then kicked my mom my 5 month old daughter and I out and locked the door like we were going to rob them or somethng they then called the cops as so did we. Their was nothing the cops could or us my mom paid $100 but we asked for a note saying they would not put our puppy to sleep or give him away and they refused to write or sign anything..... I am still trying to get my daughters puppy back. PLEASE PLEASE IF YOUR LOVE YOUR PETS DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE

I had a chihuahua who got hurt and she ended up keeping her. I was told a price to get my dog out and when I went to bring it to her she said she re did my bill and I owe her twice as much and she wants all of it. I couldn't pay 2100+ dollars and she charged per day to keep her even though it was against my will and I never came up with the amount. She knew I only had so much and did ok payment arrangements at first when I brought her in. She was my only hope at this time. If you can wait and go somewhere else I would recommend it to keep your animal.

My cat has skin cancer, and we took him in to have him checked up. The vet recommended having his ears removed, as tumors were clearly visible. Didn't say anything about similar looking marks on his paws, leading me to wonder if she even bothered to do a thorough evaluation before she recommended chopping off body parts. Took the cat in for scheduled surgery at 11 am Saturday morning. Called that afternoon to check on him, vet said she hadn't done the surgery yet, she'd perform it the next day "at her leisure," so our poor traumatized cat was stuck in this new and terrifying place overnight for no obvious reason. Receptionist was clearly a moron, didn't know anything about our appointment, and asked if the meowing animal in our open cat carrier "was a cat." The entire experience was entirely nerve-wracking, and I will do my damndest to turn everyone I know away from this craphole. It's all I can do from going back in there and punching someone in the face.

I have pet insurance b/c my daschund is sick for a year now with tonsilitis and the vet has the audacity to quetions me after like I am not a good pet owner, the bills got so expensive I had to get pet insurance and come to find out he is overcharging for most medications and cultures among other things. Also, yes she is rude so is her staff and she would not give me a copy of my dogs medical records when I asked for them... Unsatisfied

Took my dog in and an old, 70ish female vet said the only way to treat the ailment was surgery for $600. The vet drew labsfor $79. The next day I took the dog to another clinic. They said the ear could be treated with a drain, cost $225. They didn't even suggest surgery. They also took my dogs temperature and found she had a fever. They (Manzano Animal clinic) did the procedure, held my dog several hours till my husband could pick her up, at no additional cost and sent her home with medications. As another reviewer said, the receptionist is rude and haughty. The second vet also couldn't get the lab results form Ponderosa although they asked for them twice. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. PS this website wouldn't take my review until I changed the rating to average.

Terrible experience! Receptionist was very rude only to find out that she is the Vet's daughter so she can get away with being rude. Was told test results would be in next day and was instructed to call them next day for results. Called them back for four days in a row and was always told that they would get back to me. I had to physically go back into the vet's office to get test results. I then had to take my pet to another vet for help. My new vet could not believe how this practice is ran and is actually still in business.

Good for vaccinations at their weekend shot clinics they hold, but I would not leave my pet here overnight. The female DVM at this clinic is a not very nice to customers or employees.

I have never writen a review before, but felt compelled to do so for the staff at Ponderosa. I have three cats, two dogs and Ponderosa Animal Clinic has taken care of all their needs, from shots to declaw and spaying. They can handle anything from routine to emergency procedures in a very humane way (they made sure that as the animal owner I understood the process and what is involved in every procedure and kept me updated every step of the way). I recommend their services to all my friends every chance I get and wanted to share my experience with you, when you need a place you can trust the family pet - Ponderosa is the place to go.
