Tue Jun 24 2008Pokemon Indigo League, Orange Islands, and the Johto Journey series, is better, i think so. I have always been fond of pokemon, and even the games. Here are my fave pokemon movies: Pokemon the first movie, Pokemon the movie: 2000, Pokemon: Heroes, and Pokemon: Lucario, and the Mystery of Mew. The new shows and movies are acting like Power Rangers now. it's not just good anymore. I still play the games though. I was disappointed by Pokemon: The rise of Darkrai. but fans of pokemon might like that movie.

Tue Nov 20 2007Can't say so because of Team rocket, they make Pokemon fun to watch, as well as Pickachu, so a Pokemon fad wouldn't be so bad.

Sun Sep 23 2007I remember when my nephew used to collect Pokemon cards. Around that time i remember watching the Chris Rock show on HBO when they showed a fake Pokemon card. The character on the card was named "Stabbanigga"!

Mon Sep 17 2007I rate it 3 stars because the original series was awesome until they started coming out with even more Pokemon. They have so many that I have a lot of catching up to do. In a way, I'm glad I grew out of it because now when I try to watch it, it's just kinda bad. The animation could be SO much better and the voice casting would be so much less obnoxious if they did things a little differently.

Wed Sep 12 2007As much as I love the video games I hate the cartoon. Pokemon like most anime shows have no ending, and it will keep on going forever and ever and the longer it gets the worst the plot gets. Ash has been battlin' for a while now and he still cant recognize a Team Rocket disguise, and he still makes too many rookie mistakes. Why in the world would you force a pikachu to fight a Rampardos!? Its just not good strategy.

Wed Jul 25 2007i Had like poke'mon sense i was like 7 or 8 and now I'm 14, but poke'mon has a great story line. Now yo may think that I'm retarded because i still like poke'mon but its not about age, its about having fun, or being entertained. and Poke'mon happens to entertain me. but back to poke'mon, its just all around a great story and a good way to further extend your imagination.

Fri Apr 22 2005PLEASE, WATCH THIS IN JAPAN, BECAUSE AMERICA BUTCHERED THE HELL OUT OF THIS SHOW! ASH'S NAME IS SATOSHI, DAMNIT! MISTY?! WTF, HER NAME IS KASUMI! KEEP MUSASHI AND KUJIROU, NOT JESSIE AND JAMES, YOU PUN LOVING ASS MONKEYS! >__> I'm not passionate about this show, I just wanted to get the point across. Over all, until I watch this from Japan, I will continue to say that this show SUCKS. >_<

Sat Jan 08 2005I was 17 when I started playing Pokemon. I played my nephew's game boy and I was hooked, it is a good strategy game but as far as the cards, the movies and all that other stuff, it got overexposed and everyone got sick of it. But as far as it being a good game with strategy, I give it 2 thumbs up.

Tue Dec 14 2004I love Japanese cartoons. And when I was younger, I was very interested in Pokemon. Now, I am less interested in it because I have more interesting animes. Anyways, I know some people hate Japanese cartoons, but if you hate them, just do not see them and do not care about them. And some people say that American animations are better than Japanese ones. However, if they are correct, how come Japanese animes came to America? It is because many Americans got interested in them. As you know, in fact, lots of American children got interested in Pokemon. And for any situations, I can say that the better the quality is, the more the people get interested. Someone in this board said about Japanese cars. If American cars are much better than Japanese ones, how come they came to America? Japanese cars are admitted as well as American ones. I know you guys love America. Of course, I do too because I am American also. However, just accept other countries' cultures without bitterness. If you ca... Read more

Wed Dec 01 2004They should have just kept it as a game. The games are very addictive and still a lot of fun, but their efforts to make Pokemon a phenomenon ruined it. The cartoon could have been decent if every episode didn't have the exact same plot.

Tue Nov 09 2004You people are bitches who don't like this show. Pokemon is the illness. Don't hate. Thank you to all who actually like this show

by bbutler76
Thu Jul 01 2004Complete Crap. Why would an adult without children watch this nonsense.

Sat Jun 26 2004For all of you 15 , 16 , and 17year olds out there, remember what cartoon you grew up with , Pokemon , dont leave it hanging . Even if your a 16 year old and you want to buy the cards go ahead , people collect baseball cards , so why cant you collect Pokemon cards ? As far as I'm concerned and obviously evryone else is , Pokemon is one of the greatest GB color & GBA games and Nintendo games EVER ! Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire placed 2nd AND 3rd , INDIVIDUALLY last year in the top selling games . (ruby-2nd,sapphire-3rd) They sold The plot and journey of Pokemon is wonderful and imaginative and great ! It was the most popular show on tv , and the TCG sales were through the roof . Your parents had Mighty Mouse , and Tom & Jerry , and we had Pokemon , so its time to bring it back . Fire Red and Leaf Green come out September 7th , 2004 for GBA , its sooooo cool ! Pokemon is the greatest cartoon and card game and definitley video game EVER , Ill always be a fan !

Sat Mar 20 2004I don't agree with ClassicTVFan much, but he's dead on here. Pokemon is no fad, it's a phenomenon of the highest degree. It has waned a bit, but it is still strong.
by classictvfan47
Mon Feb 23 2004Pokemon, about to enter its sixth season on the unstoppable Kids WB, is nowhere near a fad, but now an animation and video gaming legend. Two new games are flying on for the Nintendo's super-handheld, the Game Boy Advance. Also, three games are coming for the Nintendo GameCube! The creator of Pokemon hopes to elevate Pokemon to the level of Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny. As far as I'm concerned, its already there! Does a FAD produce seven motion pictures and 300+ episodes? I think that qualifies more as as a saga or legacy.

Mon Feb 23 2004I spent a bit of money on those @#%*ing cards. (seemed like a good idea at the time). But thnk god i realised my mistake and gave the god *#@* things to my brother. Note to CTVfan it is a fad that is the reason why it's almost gone. MOST of the people who watch this trash are younger kids who don't know any better.
by tencat
Fri Jan 09 2004Amusing at first, but now it's more annoying now. Team Rocket needs to blast off to space and never return. And the stories are getting lamer and lamer.
by tvtator
Sun Dec 14 2003It's not for me but if it makes some people happy then so be it. I see nothing redeeming about it except as others have said to milk money out of children and their parents. I never thought the little(whatever the little freak happened to be) was appealing. What could be trash or an annoyance to some, could be treasure to another.

Mon Dec 01 2003Pikachu is the only thing good about Pokemon....

Sat Nov 01 2003I would like to congratulate pikachan for kicking te habit (somewhat). Witnessing the rise of the pokemon phenomenon to me is like watching the end of a bad horror film where the villian is in their final moments but just won't DIE! I predict that it will be another five years (at the most) before this crap fades into obscurity forever.
by pikachan
Wed Oct 29 2003I am SO glad that I'm off Pokemon cards and toys. I only play the video games (which started this whole fad!!) now. This whole thing about collecting the cards and toys is stupid when you think about it. The video games(Game Boy) are the only thing i ever play. An awful fad indeed!!! NOTE:It's spelled PokeMON! NOT pokeMAN!(Typo there! fix it!
by kamylienne
Mon Oct 27 2003Highly annoying, but I have to hand it to them, it's a great marketing ploy to have a few hundred little monsters to collect in card form, about a dozen little video games based off it, TV episodes to collect and movies to boot. The worst thing was that awful Pokemon Snap game, where all you do is take pictures of the animals. Are they for real? I admit, it was cute at first, but honestly, the concept is much in the same spirit as dogfighting in real life: capturing animals and forcing them to fight for you in tournaments. (Yeah, you can say the Pokemon WANT to fight for you, but the people who participate in dog fights feel the same way). Pretty demented if you think about it. It's also sad that children can roll off the stats of any given Pokemon without blinking but still not be able to locate their home state on a map. Still, I dislike Power Rangers even more than this, though.

Mon Oct 27 2003Pokeman caused a lot of misery in our family. Those cartoons encouraged children to run right out and buy all of those Pokemon products. the cards in particular were a headache since they were packaged like baseball cards you never knew which ones were in there. REal fun time to have your kid get mad because he already had the cards in this pack and now he wanted his allowance back. ARRRRRGGGGHH. glad they are not as popular.
by irishgit
Sun Oct 26 2003Pokeman is an utterly cynical marketing scam designed to yank the money out of children's pockets. Everything connected with this despicable product is designed towards this goal. It is as creative as a laundry soap commercial, and as entertaining as an episode of My Mother the Car. To compare this with the brilliance of early Disney or Warner Brothers is like comparing Milli Vanilli with Eric Clapton.

Sat Sep 20 2003I think they should give this show a rest. my goodness, I'm tired of seeing pokewhatevers where ever I go.
by deathrattle
Fri Sep 12 2003This is definitely for a younger audience. Anyone over the age of twelve that eatches this show needs electro shock therapy. This is not even true anime. This is more of that tarnished American Anime that is only generally used for cartoon shows such as this one. As if the show is not already filled with annoying antics and annoying characters.

Sun Aug 31 2003Pokemon is a great series full of comedy, action and adventure. it's probably meant for younger veiwers (ages 5 to 9) but preteens like it just as well! awesome series!!!

Tue May 20 2003OK. Now first of all, all you people out there who hate pokemon, you suck. Second, Pokemon has not died. Who knows what cartoons would be like nowadays without Pokemon. Nintendo might have not even been alive right now! Finally, I just love Pokemon. Don't make fun of me, I just like it.

Fri Feb 28 2003Like most sixth form students, I enjoy a round of kid's TV on a regular basis, and find that some shows can really be exceptional viewing - Pokemon clearly isn't one of them. Words cannot describe how much I dislike this cartoon. Not because its animation is of a particularly low standard - quality animation is always a plus point, but it doesn't make a good cartoon on its own. Not becaus it was so commercial with the merchandising - that's just good common sense on behalf of marketing. I dislike Pokemon because, not only does it make little effort to entertain the parents of kids that view it (cartoons that do this are usually on the right track), but it also makes one of the most fatal errors that any show aimed at kids can make - that is, it underestimates its target audience. Kids are a hundred times smarter than the writers of this show seemed to think. Everything about it is so horribly patronising, from the silly, childish dialogue to the syrupy narrator. The writing is j... Read more
