Physics has always been one of my favourite subjects along with the specific fields of astronomy, nuclear physics, and quantum physics. It's one of those subjects where it's okay to question what the teacher says as they're not necessarily right... though I think mine may have got fed up of me answering rhetorical questions too. Oh well.

I keep getting this confused with psychics. I don't know if they are the same or not. It kind of seems like a funny subject to teach in school though.

One of my favorites. We got to make catapults in our class as part of our final.

Easily the most interesting school subject out there, the study of matter and energy is really the start of everything. As long as you don't get caught up in the whole "physics is hard," thing, physics is a fairly easy subject at the high school and even college level. You just need to keep your math skills sharp. But it does get pretty hard at the graduate level.

I looked forward to Physics as I was eager to hear more about the fascinating phenomena with which science telecasts had got me acquainted. And what was it then, here in good old Germany: Short introductions of some "laws of nature" that left me fogged, followed by something I could not quite tell from Algebra. Arrrgh!Nevertheless I could grasp that an introduction to one of the basic sciences is important.

All we did all year was lever problems, which were interesting, but got monotonous. I wanted quantum mechanics.

I have many projects that I do at home that relate to what we are talkinga bout in class and I enjoy talking to the teacher about them.

Only fun bit is when you play with the circuitry or go on the computers. Otherwise it's a Spawn O' Satan!

On a practical note, for the average person I would give it a 3 (It's up to you whether you learn it). But I personally liked physics. I was good at the theory and scientific side, because I have a natural interest in how things work and are made up. But funny enough, I didn't do all that well in one physics class. To be good at physics, it depends on three things; 1-You have to be very good at maths eg calculus, algebra, geometry, triganometry. 2-You have to be inventive ie you have to be good at applying the maths. 3-Most importantly, you need a good, patient teacher who is good at explaining things. With me, it depended on my teacher. When I first did it, I had an average teacher therefore I got average marks like B's and C's. But the second time I did physics, I had a stupid teacher. (He was very intelligent, he was just a woeful teacher.) He never explained anything, he'd put formulas on the board and say, 'Do this' without teaching you, he would make you feel stupid whe... I hated Physics with a vengeance! I'm good at math, but it was hard to put it to practical use. There were also a lot of things to memorize. I gave it an okay rating because I somehow managed to pull an A- in it.

I could not get the hang of physics at all. I found it incredibally difficult and confusing. It's an interesting subject if you're great at higher math, but if you're not, you'll probably have a lot of trouble.

The people who are saying that this will be easy if you're good at math don't know what they're talking about. During my junior year of high school, I got A's in Algebra II, but nearly failed Physics. It all seemed like another language to me, and the formulas were complicated and there were so many of them. Maybe it would've been better if I had a more helpful and fair teacher, but I hated this class (as well as chemistry) in high school.

This year I took an Integrated Physics and Chemistry class, and its no coincidence that my grade in the Physics portion of the class was much higher than it is in the Chemistry portion. As Jaws said, if you are good at math and basic algebra, then this should be an easy subject for you. Rarely did I have to study in Physics other than just memorizing the formulas, and I am actually sort of fascinated with the study of physics and learning about its history.

In my high school physics was listed under science courses but everything involved dealt with mathematical functions. The classes were easy. If you're good at math you'll be good at physics. I never had to study or do homework and I still aced the classes because everything the teacher showed us I picked right up on. I find it odd that the math subjects are rated so low on the list. What's wrong with you people. I thought there was inteligent life out there.
