Thu May 27 2010I read the reviews out of curiousity just because I was on the site for something else. I live in a Philly Mgmt building. I had no desire to post a review before I read what was online. If I was mad at them I guess I'd think to come here and write a review. The only reason I'm writing one is because I have nothing bad to say about them. Any time I had a maintenance issue it was resolved within 48 hrs and I get to email my maintenance requests which is convenient. My apartment was clean when I moved in. I've gotten a "yes" over the phone. My property manager has been friendly and knows me by name. I understand everyone's experience will be different but since I've had no problems I thought someone should stick up for them.

Wed Apr 07 2010Huge mistake. More than half of the apartment's major appliances have broken in the eight months that I live here (Air-conditioner, furnace, microwave, dryer). Each request for maintenance is met with resistance and delay and frequently it takes numerous calls to get anything even looked at. The building management makes you feel as though it is YOU who are inconveniencing THEM by actually wanting the appliances that you pay for to work. I have never been so terribly dissatisfied with a landlord, nor have I even had to pay such steep rents for the privilege. If at all possible, do not rent from Philadelphia Management Co, you will certainly regret it. I know I have.

Mon Nov 30 2009Never, ever rent through this management company!! When your lease is over, it will take an act of God to get your money back! And, believe me, no matter how clean you leave it, unless you take pictures before and after, and walk through, they will deduct an arm and a leg without any explanation. I have sent numerous emails (usually replied by the manager timely, but never satisfactory). When he was out for the week, I tried calling his assistant, who would NEVER take my call (kept on hold for over 15 minutes numerous times, was told she was gone for the day 2x during business hours, was told she was on the phone and would get back to me)-- never would call me back. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau so check it out before you sign any leasing agreement with Philadelphia Management Company. .

Sun May 14 2006Philadelphia Management is okay. When I moved in the apartment was GROSS. The windows didn't open, the bathroom and kitchen sinks were stopped up, and the shower faucets didn't work. The floor was also VERY dirty. I had paid everything well in advance too so I found this to be very annoying. In addition, I was led to believe that the security system in the building would work - not told that you MUST have a 215 number for it to work. Sorta annoyed. After that they were better. Maintenance problems usually resolved quickly.

Thu Aug 11 2005Sure, the management company is ok. If you don't mind waiting 3 weeks for a broken window, or 4 days for a broken toilet (who needs a toilet in the home anyway?). Or if you enjoy having to go to their office whenever you need to speak with them, because the only answer you ever get on the phone is 'No.' Or if you want a quasi-doorman, as the doorman has been oft referred to. Or if you like having a drugged-out bum live on the 6th floor for 2 days and a broken lock on the front door (it's been broken for 2 years now). Or if you don't really need a working elevator (wait, you can't take the stairs up either?!) Philly Management is the bane of my existence and the least professional company/organization/scam artist I've ever done business with.
