Tue Apr 08 2008A harmless diversion. I did not watch the show when it aired. Being a Green Acres fan I felt this show was a poor relative of G.A. Watching it in reruns on T.V. Land(?) a few years ago it was quite pleasant. A good way to pass the time when you have nothing else to do. This show won't stimulate the mind but it was mild entertainment. The girls are easy on the eyes.

Thu Aug 16 200760's jiggle show, with even worse performances than usual for the type. Unlike later T&A;, shows, the three primary attractions wore too many clothes.

Sun Jun 17 2007A harmless show from the 60s. When I was a child I just loved this show. Now as an adult watching this it is kind of hokey. A mother runs an inn with uncle Joe and her three daughters, Billie jo, Bobbie Jo, and Betty Jo. and the adorable dog who went on to play Benji. They lived in a small town in Hooterville most of the people rode the train named the Cannonball. It was show about "country folk".the humor was pretty mild.but at least not "naughty". not a bad show.for it's time. when I think about it I can still remember the lyrics...come and ride the little train that is rolling down the track to the junction..Petticoat Junction...

Sat Aug 26 2006I had a major school boy crush on Betty Jo (played by Linda Kaye). I recently bought a triple DVD set where each episode is introduced by... Linda Kaye (now known as Linda Kaye Henning)! She still looks gorgeous, even after the passing of more than 40 years! The DVD is "Ultimate Collection" released in 2005 by MPI Home Video. It contains "20 rare and restored episodes from the show's first year" and includes the original theme song. Recommended!

Tue May 02 2006As a kid, I loved this show. The girls were beautiful. I liked Bea (Kate) and the concept of the show seemed always pretty funny to me. I am disappointed that I haven't seen this show in reruns in many years. Where does it play in cyndication?

Wed Dec 31 2003Remember the beginning of the show? The girls bathe in the water supply? When I was a kid I didn't think twice about it. But now... that's disgusting. I used to watch the beginning and thought Great, this is a show about naked girls taking baths. I'd watch & say, Where's the naked ladies?. So I'd watch the show, but never found it interesting at all. Like eating oatmeal, frustrating oatmeal.

Sat Nov 15 2003For those who have never stayed at the Shady Rest Hotel, the concept for Petticoat Junction is a rural hotel in the backwards town of Hooterville run by Kate Bradley (played by Bea Benaderet) and her three beautiful daughters, Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo (my personal favorite), and Betty Jo. (Bea Benaderet also played Pearl Bodine on The Beverly Hillbillies and provided the voices for Granny in Warner Bros' Looney Toons, and for Betty Rubble in The Flintstones.) Also hanging out at the hotel is the loafing Uncle Joe who is the focus of most of the humor. The comedy is predictable; however, the series did have a successful spinoff in the form of Green Acres. Anyway, there are plenty of people like Uncle Joe. He moves, but he moves kinda slow. Petticoat Junction was originally broadcast from 1963 to 1970.

Fri Jul 18 2003One of the worst eras of television, and this show is total proof of that...good grief. Can you say boring, talentless, and just plain out horrible acting? This show is not entertaining in the least....bleah....

Mon Apr 28 2003I agree with Solenoid DH: two stars for Lori Saunders. She was one of the hottest babes on 1960s television. I always wanted to foul the Shady Rest water supply with her, if you know what I mean.

Sat Dec 28 2002Petticoat Junction was a classic, a clean and good living comedy. Lori Saunders aka Linda is beautiful. Linda is involved in many humanitarian endeavors. She is a warm and very caring person whom I admire with all honesty. I wish the show would air in my neck of the woods. And I wish my grandchildren could see such integrity in the shows they are allowed to view on todays T.V.

Thu Dec 19 2002A nice, pleseant, and warm show which I look forward to watching. I love Green Acres for its insanity, but Petticoat Junction is just as appealing to me. Having seen Green Acres first, it took a few shows of Petticoat Junction to get me into its frame of mind. Knowing that both shows go on around the same town I was expecting the Green Acres humor, but in the end I am glad that both of the shows are so different. Also I never get tired of watching Bobbie Jo(Lori Saunders). I dont know what the B&W episodes are like for this series but hope one day to see them.

Thu Aug 15 2002I gave this show 5 stars for the Bea Benaderet years, its to bad we dont get to see most of the episodes with her, the B/W years are not included in the current syndicated package.

Sun Jul 28 2002Petticoat junction is a cool show. I liked the way uncle Joe always schemed and planned and ended up getting lots of people in trouble. It is a funny show and very entertaining to watch

Thu Jun 27 2002This show has a genuine appeal that's almost unique in all of television. Hey, the man did say right up front "it is time to RELAX at the junction!" It's been a favorite of mine since childhood, and I relish the rare opportunities I have to see it. But hearing Bea Benaderet's voice while a stand-in with a beehive wig faces away from the camera is somewhat disturbing. That happened in her last episode, broadcast shortly after she died. I like June Lockhart, but always felt a bit of a sense of disappointment when I'd have a rare opportunity catch an episode when I was out of town or something and it would be one of hers. And Steve was one boring character.

Thu Mar 07 2002Wonderful show, and I can't even conceive how it was ranked so low on the list! A wonderful world where you don't have to worry about sexual immorality, bad language, or violence. FANTASTIC! If there were a 100, it would receive my vote! Grant

Thu Feb 21 2002An embarassment...the only reason to watch the show was to ogle Lori Saunders.

Tue Nov 27 2001A bunch of young pretty women living by the train depot with an older woman looking out for there best interest? It was a brothel folks! And what's with bathing in the town water supply - ugh!

Wed Nov 07 2001This was a somewhat corny show written tongue-in-cheek by some pretty hip writers. How else can you explain three beautiful sexy girls living in "Hooterville" and nobody seems to get the joke? I really enjoyed the crossover episodes with the "Beverly Hillbillies." This was especially tricky because Bea Benaderet played "Kate" on one show and "Cousin Pearl" on the other. Even with this great cast of character actors, however, the real star of the show was the dog. What a scene stealer.

Wed Sep 12 2001I hate when people think Green Acres and Petticoat Junction are kind of the same show! They sure are not! Green Acres rulzzzz!

Sun Sep 09 2001One of my favorite shows as a kid! The only time I didn't like it was when in the later shows they would sit around the piano and sing stupid songs. Probably did that cause they couldn't think of anything else to write in the script? I loved the dog! He later went on to become the very first Benji!! (A bit of trivia there for you!)

Thu Apr 19 2001silly show but nicely done. Very innocent and down to earth. Bea Benederet who played kate did a very good job. Uncle joe was a great character. The girls were very cute! It is nice to Watch a show like this when the kids are around you don't have to worry about anything bad or anything sexual. Lots' of fun.

Thu Apr 05 2001An improvement over Green Acres, but that's not saying much. Just another goofy sitcom that takes place on a farm, and that tried very hard to be funny, but ends up just being amusing.

Mon Jun 05 2000A whole half hour goes by, and absolutely nothing happens. The boring cropduster sings a boring song with the boring girls around the boring piano, then they catch the train to Druckers. Only time it ever wasn't boring was when Homer Bedloe came to town to close the railroad.

Fri Jun 02 2000They have some cute chicks down there at the Junction.
