He and his No-jans are without a doubt the most overrated coach and team in college football. Their "fame" consists entirely of the biased West Coast media's obsession with them. They play no one and ride that flimsy schedule to a top 5 rating. Carroll and USC got a little reality put on them by UT back in '06 in Southern Cal's backyard, courtesy of Vince Young, and company. Honestly, how much coaching skill can it take to win the PAC-10? The real skill comes in trying to make everyone else believe that USC is really No. 1 every year.

Carroll a college football coach? It may be an understatement when you consider that his USC Trojans have been as dominant as they have been for the last six years. Consider, that under Carroll, the Men of Troy have been two BCS title bowl games with two national titles (one being undisputed), have won five bowls out of seven consecutive bowl appearances, six consecutive years as the Pac-10 champions, a winning percentage of 84.4%, more than twenty first team All-Americans, and three Heisman winners to boot, it isn't hard to argue that Carroll ought to be considered one of the best coaches in all sports. In a span of five years, the Carroll-led Trojans have accomplished what most career college coaches would have loved to have accomplished within their programs. Needless to say, USC has led every year for the last few years in recruiting the nation's best high school football prodigies, and Carroll has made the Trojans into a deep-in-depth college football juggernaut. Horrible NFL coach, but a legend college football coach. He led a mediocre 6-6 squad who lost to Utah in Emerald Bowl in 2001, to a college football powerhouse.

Carroll's done a great job with USC, no doubt. I'm an Oklahoma fan, so you can imagine how hard it is for me to say that. However, I'm also from Boston, so I know a little about Carroll's coaching ability. He did a poor job with the Patriots. It's just that simple. He'll never go pro again. He cares more about being well-liked than he does about coaching a good game, which is a huge liability in the pros but a huge asset in college (it helps recruiting). He'd be a moron to go back to the pros. You don't have to be an asshole (Bill Parcells) to be a good pro coach, but you do have to want to win more than anything else (Bill Belicheck).

I don't care much for USC, buts its impossible to argue that Pete Carroll hasn't done a great job with their program. He has made USC football high profile, and this attracts top kids to play for him. Not only has he done a great job recruiting, but he wins big games also.

If he wins the 2006 Rose Bowl, he needs to go to the NFL. He's done everything he can in college, and I think he should go for something harder and more challenging. I applaud Steve Spurrier for at least giving the NFL a try.

OK so far. Could be great. Time will tell. Does seem to have a VERY close relationship with his players. Too much hugging for me.

Alot of close calls for a team that the apple polishers say could beat certain NFL teams. No title this year is my prediction and I notice that two very talented running backs are vital to the success that has been enjoyed by Pete to this point. It will be interesting to see what he can do once they are gone.

Please understand, I dont like the University of Spoiled Children. However, the results this coach has managed to produce speak for themself. His team has had great season every year he's been at USC. He's had quite a few first round draft picks, he's just done a great job, even if I don't like the school.

Definitely one of the best. USC was down and out before he arrived. The results speak for themselves.

Absolutely incredible coach. After a 6-6 rookie season, Carroll's Trojans have gone 36-3, won two national championships, won two Heismans, and have a perfect 3-0 record in BCS bowls. Anyone who doesn't recognize him as a 5 star coach is clearly biased. How can Bob Stoops be rated higher after the Orange Bowl?

Oh my lord, look at that goofy picture of him. Anyway, he proved he'snot much more that a crybaby when he tried to steal a NC from the BCS. He should be ashamed that he counts a NC by a Newspaper claim. Those days are over. Look at the weak schedule they play. Lets just see what he brings in about 5 years.
