Tue Sep 16 2008The first ingrdient is a named meat product. It is kangaroo, inclusive of water content (about 80%). Once that is removed, as it must be to create a dehydrated product, the ingredient will weigh around 20% of its wet weight. Ingredients listed in order of weight, and the dehydrated ingredient would probably be more accurentely placed much further down the ingredient list.

Tue Aug 26 2008My 8mth old male Shih-Poo CUPID has tried so many holistic, natural, additive free, sensitive dry foods that we have 6 bags on the go. Have been mixing together to use them up and also provide more rounded protein in diet. Today, decided to line up all 6 and let him choose what he prefers: hands down - Performatrin Lamb Meal & Brown Rice! Even with all 6 new foods - each introduced slowly over a week, he NEVER got the runs. Ever. Started with 10% of new food mixed with old and worked up till 100% of new food. The reason we have so many types is Cupid just stops eating them after 3-7 days - bored? Then d

Thu Sep 13 2007Of the insane amount of garbage dog food out there this stuff is among the best brands. This is one of the very few manufacturers of lamb based puppy mix. The food tastes great (seriously, try it!) and my growing pup loves it. The ingredients are wholesome, nutritious, antibiotic and hormone free. Very few brands list fresh free range deboned meat as an ingredient... they're always heavily meal based. This is an excellent choice for those dogs out there who don't do well on chicken based kibble.

Mon Mar 19 2007My dog loves this food. It has never given him bathroom problems either. He is only 2 years old so has lots of energy anyways. His coat is gorgeous. The only thing I can remember is him sometimes vomiting when we first started feeding it to him. This however could've been a mistake by me not changing over gradually enough

Sun Feb 11 2007The first two ingredients are named meat products. There is a further meat meal ingredient 8th on the list, which is too far down to make up a substantive portion of the food, but does still add to our confidence that this food contains adequate meat. This is a fish meal ingredient. The 3rd - 6th ingredients are all grains, which makes this food appear quite grain heavy even if they are all good quality ones. The first grains are rice and barley. Rice is a low-allergenic grain that is a good quality source of carbohydrate and additional protein. Barley is also a good quality grain and carbohydrate source. Oatmeal and rye are further grains at 5th and 6th on the ingredient list. Sunflower oil is a good quality fat and source of linoleic acid, but we would prefer to see the use of whole eggs rather than egg product in the food. There is a nice range of whole fruits and vegetables, and probiotics. Overall, this is a good quality food. The splitting of the rice ingredients and high numbe... Read more
