I really do not understand why people have to talk real loud on their cell phones, anyway. I think if a person has to talk on the cell phone, they ought to go away from the public, if possible, or talk at a decent level. Sometimes I think there might be a few that are just showing off, and other times I think people just don't realize how loud they're talking.

On more than one occasion I have heard people do this -- airing their personal business in public, sometimes along with a few choice words that would embarrass even a sailor. Where has all the dignity gone?

Add in the fact that you are trying to watch the movie and it should be perfectly ok to kill if not severly injure them.

This just happend yesterday... I was having lunch at work trying to socialize with my colleagues when this trashy lady walks in with her cell phone and insists that everybody must hear her yell and cuss about her bill at some customer service center for a utility company. She then kicked a chair and yelled stupid b*tch on the phone. Yah... sure lady this will really solve your problem in getting your bill resolved and we are so impressed with your assertiveness, thank you for sharing; needless to say everyone in the lunch room was looking at her like she had 10 heads and rightfully so.

This is quite annoying. I once heard some twit on the phone giving details on how she cheated on her boyfriend to her friend, and now she was just so (sob) ashamed! Well....moron...next time close your legs and don't broadcast it to the world. We were in a public Ladies Room for pete's sake! I don't need to know that kind of crap.

Especially considering that I don't think that you, or your conversation are oh so important that we must yell into the speaker so the entire store can hear you. I DON'T want to know what so-n-so said about your best friend Jess. Sorry, but no one cares...

oh I am sooooo, important I must be on the phone at all times and let everyone know How important I am. I swear there are some people who are pathetically obsessed with their phones. cannot be without them. goodness they will call for just about anything. " what kind of mustard should I get?" what greeting card should I buy?. one of these days they will have to start a group called cell phones anonymous.

What's bad - a roomate of mine is a loud cellphone talker. His room is beside mine and I can hear his conversation like he was in my room. I'm trying to work on an essay and I just want to tell him to shut the hell up.

Cell phone signals sometimes weaken out completely in the middle of a conversation, a person may sometimes have to increase their voice in order for the person on the other side to hear. It is a little obnoxious at times, and yes, some conversations can be made in private, but I would put this in the same category as arguing in public. It can make for comic relief at times. Although I should note at this point that what annoys me the most is when people when either walking or driving become oblivious to their surrounding while on a cell phone. In this situation, this habit can be a pet peeve at minimum, but very dangerous when operating heavy machinery. Like always, some people are just plain self-absorbed.

A fitting punishment for this would be to anally insert the offenders cellie without benefit of a lubricant.

A few years a ago when I noticed more and more people walking around yakking on the phone in public, I wondered why it irritated me to hear people talking on cell phones when it didn't bother me to hear them talking to each other. And then one day it hit me; it's because for whatever reason, many people tend to talk much louder when they're on a cell. I don't know if it's poor signal or what, but it reminds me of those old movies depicting someone placing their first long distance call and they think they have to talk REALLY LOUD to make up for the distance. Another thing is that people pushing a cart around in a store as they concentrate on a phone call may not be as dangerous as they are on the road; but they are almost as annoying.

I've never understood this and now they've got hand-free mobile (cell) phones and people use these in public. It's annoying and downright rude. I don't understand why the rest of the world needs to hear a conversation on the phone between two people.
