I started ordering their coffee online. I believe in God! This coffee is so fresh and so amazing. It is so worth it! They roast the coffee the same day it's shipped and they date stamp it. So you know it's fresh. They even sent me a cool FREE peetniks hat. I felt like a valued customer with my first order. Can't wait for my next shipment or my next cup in the comfort of my home!

I've been to many Peet's over the years. The Peet's on Polk Street in San Francisco is the best of the bunch and seems to be getting better and better over the last year or so. Is it new management? The staff who work there are super nice and work their butts off through good customers and bad alike. Of course the coffee is always the best (like most peet's) and the pastry's are just too tempting to be had however I give in from time to time. Cheers to the Polk Peetniks!

The Scene Since its Berkeley beginnings in 1966, the chain has swapped its beatnik spirit for corporate glory. Cool flagstone floors and rich mahogany-colored paneling make for a sleek stop, but not a haunt in which to linger. Once the den of intellectuals and fringe artists, Peet's went IPO in early 2001 and is now frequented almost exclusively by people who want the conveniences of a franchised coffeehouse without kowtowing to Starbucks. The Food The coffee is robust without being overbearing. Strong but not bitter, Peet's "deep roast" beans make for a fine cup of joe. Straight up or in a latte, its dark, full-bodied character carries through. Oft eclipsed by the coffees, a wide array of teas are also available. Oolongs, blacks and greens of all ilk can be enjoyed in a cup or by the pound to go. You can always nab a blueberry muffin or an orange scone, but why not opt for one of the fine French pastries? Almond creme croissants, buttery apricot bars or eggy pain crème fra&#238... Read more

Peets coffee is the absolute best...I love the flavor, the smell and the blue straws! Just the thought of having a cup of peets makes me wired! Beats Starbucks any day...with Peets I know what I am drinking is real and tasty!

Peet's has been a favorite for years. I can't believe how busy it is getting - but still it is more than worth the wait. I just wish the staff was friendlier....

Nothing compares to the rich and flavorful coffees from Peet's (unless you're in Europe). They certainly don't water it down like most places.

I feel their type of roasting and the quality of the coffee is perfecto. The crowd at a Peet's is a little more seasoned than other coffee houses

PEET's would get great marks form me except they do not carry sweet and low. Sweet-N-Low - there are no substitutes sweet enough to take it's place and coffee isn't the same without it.

I worked in Berkley in '88 when Peet's moved to thier new roasting location, in fact I helped install their new roasters. I found out that their young roasters had a wealth of knowledge and the love of roasting coffee. Good Job and Good Coffee !

Peet's Coffee & Tea is one of the worst cups of coffee I've ever had. There is no flavor, it's bitter, and I'll never go to a Peet's Coffee & Tea again!

I drive 180 miles every month for Peets coffee. It's just too good. So much better than "charbucks". Just wish the downtown shops were open on Sat/Sun since I stay downtown and come on weekends.

Sure there are about a million coffee places just around the block from my apartment and where I work, but Peet's is the only one that I rely upon for truly satisfying me.

if you love coffee. You love Peet's. I go to the one in West Portal. Not only is the coffee far superior to any other, but the staff has become like my family. I love them and I love Peet's. Thank you Peet's. anand yogendra yogi

This coffee set the goal for all the other coffee's to meet and they continue to teach the others how it is done.

Everyone at my neighborhood Peet's knows my name and my drink. Sometimes they'll even have it waiting for me by the time I get to the register. And, it's the only think that can make me civilized enough to interact with people in the morning. Peet's--don't leave home without it.

Peet's on Chestnut caters to the neighbors. The personal touch is not lost on customers. I am addicted to their French Roast/Costa Rica blend. Very classy that they close down all stores for annual "Employee Picnic". A true Bay Area original.

i recently moved to new york, where the coffee culture is surprisingly lame. sigh. i miss peet's coffee so much. god it's good. i'm also baffled by the people who say peet's coffee is just burnt and not complex. have they tried all the different types? i think the african one's are the best (kenya, ethiopia, and especially arabian mocha sanani). it's also strange that people compain that peet's coffee is bitter. i mean, coffee is bitter. if you want something that's not bitter drink something else. in my thirty years in the bay area i drank coffee all over. i remember when peets was just one store on vine street in berkeley. and i'm even a little sad that it's become a big chain. still nothing comes close to peet's in terms of depth and complexity of flavor.
