Tue Feb 06 2007In his interview for the job at Auburn, he was asked How long is it going to take you to beat Alabama. His response, "60 minutes". The man's teams played tough, without any bad conduct. He loved his players and he loved Auburn, as an Auburn fan there is no way to thank him for what he did for the program. It is great to see that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Thanks Coach Dye

Thu Jul 06 2006Pat Dye better than Bryant? There goes that poster's cred. Pat Dye was a drunken scumbag who turned Auburn into a football factory. He shoved poor, illiterate players through his system with nothing to show for their time. No effort was made to educate those who only wanted a paycheck. Pat got drunk after a particularly bitter loss to Alabama and then got into it with his wife. He smashed her jaw, sending her to the hospital and himself into "retirement". He continued to run Auburn's payroll after Bowden came. Money was funneled directly from members of AU's board of directors to Pat, who used Wayne Hall as his bagman. Dirtbag.

Tue Jan 03 2006better coach than bryant. much better winning percentage against top 10 teams. while bryant played vandy and kentucky as traditional rivals ommitting florida and georgia on an annual basis dye consistently ended the year playing top 5 hardest schedule in the nation in all but 3 of his years at auburn and still one of the best overall records in history despite rebuilding 3 programs that were in shambles. bama and bryant feared dye and dye is what led to bryants retirement. dye had recruited the bulk of tide players in their so called glory years. not only is dye's record far superior against top 10 teams but so is his bowl record. after all the bear has the most bowl losses of any coach in history and had a losing record against top 10 teams. can anyone say"myth." dye was the real deal, "anywhere, anybody, anytime."

Sat Aug 13 2005Fine Player. Fine Coach. Fine Man. He is a Southern Gentleman who is a ardent environmental conservationist. No conspiracy thoery could change my mind. Bama Fans don't like him because he beat them four years in a row. If it had not been for poor officiating and a miracle kick in '85 as well as a single botched play in '84, it would have been eight straight wins. And when you start calling him a cheater, you have to realize that he learned all he knew from the Bear whose recruiting discretions are well known in many circles. Ramsey was a crybaby whose wife ran the show and was mad because her hubby wouldn't be bringing in a NFL salary.

Wed Aug 03 2005A hard nosed defensive coach who didn't need to cheat to be great........but he did. Auburn's now infamous little black book filled with the names of Auburn supporters that knowingly contribute cash to a fund to buy players with was one of the worst instances of cheating in NCAA history. Hundreds of thousands of dollars were used to buy players from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. See '60 Minutes' interview with Erik Ramsay and hear the tapes of his conversations with then Asst. Coach and now Troy St. Coach Larry Blakeny. Disgusting!

Sat Jun 25 2005He is the coach that brought glory back to auburn, after losing to alabama for many years. He is the man who was smart enought to start Bo Jackson as a freshman, when the assistant coach of alabama woulden't allow him to play until he was a junior. Pat is definitly the man!!!!
