I think Orlando Bloom did a great job especially for his first time acting as a main role. I think he helped to convey the swiftness and gracefullness of the Elves without going overboard. He also put in lots of effort because he had to take bow and arrow lessons and canoe handling lessons. He also has dyslexia so he tends to have problems reading. Also, he seemed very confident on his lines. I think Orlando did a great job even though he had never played a main character before.

excellent--nimble and handsome. some of his character's actions were a bit over the top (snowboarding down the stairs), but that's not his fault.

All I can say about Orlando Bloom is that he is seriously one lucky guy. He graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1999 (he deferred a year as he had an accident) and won the role of Legolas straight after graduation which is rare. He has one of the best agents in the UK and my friend who studied there at the same time as him (she was in the year below) said he was crap, but fifteen agents were gunning for him because of the way he looked and they knew he was marketable. Orlando did a mediocre job in this film, mainly covered by the fact he was part of an ensemble. He wasn't outstanding and at times you could tell he was acting. Just shows you when it comes to being a successful actor after your fifteen minutes out in the sun people are looking for the goods. Sometimes all it requires to get that lucky break is having the right face, at the right place, at the right time.

It is somewhat strange that the actor who appeared to have benefited the most from appearing in the films- Bloom's name recognition skyrocketed and he appeared in several major pictures after this trilogy- is the actor who did the worst job in this series. Every dumb, subliterate, bimbo in the history of facebook, myspace, and the like indeed goes apeshit for this marginal talent.

Dude has the range of my seven year old nephew's jump shot. Can he do anything that doesn't require a bad accent?

To be honest, I felt silly watching the Lord of the Rings movies, as a long time non-fantasy fan. But it could have been worse, I could have drawn the Orlando Bloom card and had to run around in a bad dye job and pretend to be menacing and pretty at the same time.

I think Legoles is the best character (other than Merry) and that Orlando was absolutely, 100% the right choice! If they ever make a sequel to this and Orlando isn't Legoles... I think I'd DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, all I have to say is that he was perfect for the part. He plays some natural life into the character which JRR Tolkien would never have dreamed of. And of course, he's really cute. I don't think anyone could have made a better Legolas Greenleaf.

Orlando is a limited actor with that special something that the ladies like. . .during LOTR I could smell the panties melting off the women in the audience when he was on the screen. . .

Orlando`s role in the LOTR triology just seemed overall mysterious and at peace. He can appear so calm and gentle one moment and the next a fierce warrior. He even seemed to have a sense of humor. Legolas has two sides really, one is a strong warrior keen and skilled, and the other is a fair elf in love with nature and needs to be loved.

I thought Orlando was great in these movies. I wish he had more lines, but still, his part was still very important and was played extremely well. (I think he's a prettier elf than Haldir, too. hee!)

Great actor, his lines are few, but his presence is what makes the impression.

I'll have to admit that I agree with half of the girls out there, Orlando is dead Hott... And I'm sure he could have been a better actor as Legolas, but he really didn't have a chance... Seriously, through out all 3 movies he barely had any lines at all, and when he did, they were like 5 words at the most. In the book, Legolas did a lot more and I think they should have let Orlando do more things that they left out in the movie....

I'm not one of the many young women swooning over the guy who is so pretty he makes me feel ugly. But I did think his work was impressive, in that he learned how to use a bow and arrow very well. I also was impressed by the way he portrayed the fact that elves are unfamiliar with death, by showing a wide-eyed shock and despair at the death of Gandalf and the near-death of Aragorn.

He always has that lost puppy-dog look in his eyes. Which is okay for an elf but it didn't fit the character in pirates of the carribean. I mean he was a blacksmith that had a burning hatred for pirates but his eyes looked so innocent.

Orlando did a great job in these movies. Being a fairly newcomer to the acting business, and taking on a very demanding role as Legolas, an Elf who reley's on senses and his skill with a bow and arrow, was very chalenging for him. Still getting used to his girls-worship-me status, this role isn't going to lift the burden, as he is hot in these films!
