Sat Aug 16 2008Dude I love Ramen noodles I can't help it. I eat it almost every day for lunch. But you know what they need? Low-sodium low-fat Ramen noodles. If they were the same price or even a little bit more I would buy so much more of it even than I already do.

Fri Aug 15 2008I confess to eating a ton of these, (the equivalent of them a few decades back, anyway) At the time you could buy about twenty packages for a buck or so, and they provided some carbs and food energy for next to nothing. My room-mate used to eat them uncooked, like crackers, which I could never bring myself to do.

Fri Aug 15 2008I lived in the dorms for four years (including two summers), and I didn't eat a single package of Ramen noodles.

Thu Aug 14 2008I dabbled in ramen noodles just a bit during my dorm days. However, it truly became a staple of my diet when I was in grad school. I had a 1000 dollar a month work study grant, but rent was almost 800 dollars. At about 15 cents a pop, Ramen noodles were an essential meal.

Thu Jun 07 2007Its cheap, Fast, and you can eat it dry or cooked, I leave out the seasoning and put my own sauce to keep it interesting. Hey I used to be the poorest college student ever, and I eat RAMEN all the time, I still love it!

Thu Sep 29 20058/3/03: This item is why I made up this list in the first place--Ramen (in the brick form or in the just-add-water cup form) seems to be the staple food of poor college students everywhere. At 8 to 10 packages for a buck, and with countless flavors, it's an ideal food to stock up on when you've got a small budget. After a while, you get creative with it: adding vegetables, meat, even egg to it REALLY helps make it more of a meal. I don't know how I could have made it through college without Oodles of Noodles. 9/29/05: (Wow, I made that comment over two years ago? How 'bout that? Anyway . . . ) Alright, I found a cool website with some interesting Ramen recipes (the term "interesting" is key here; some sound awesome, and some sound, well, pretty gross), anyone who's interested (or morbidly curious), check it out: http://mattfischer.com/ramen/

Fri May 21 2004My favorite is Beef. I love these when I have a taste for them. The only thing I don't like is the fact that they contain a lot of sodium. Other than that they're a great meal or snack food.

Sun Aug 24 2003There have been times where I had to practically live off of this stuff. It's easy to make, cheap, comes in many different flavors and there are several ways to prepare it.

Fri Aug 08 2003These really are easy on the budget, easy to store, and very tasty. I still have them now and then - but back in the day I considered them a staple. One thing you can buy in huge bulk at warehouse stores like Sam's and Costco and never waste - after all, they probably have a shelf life of about 150 years.
