I prefer them cooked opposed to raw. They aren't quite as strong that way in potroast for ex.

You either like em or hate em. I like onions for the most part. sauted or grilled with anything, chopped up and mixed with tuna fish, and of course on a burger are my favorites.

I put onions in just about everything I cook (special note: I don't make desserts). There are times when I'm making certain things, such as chili, that I'll start making it and stop dead in my tracks because I realize that I don't have any onions.

Yum. Not too fond of the cutting of some varieties (often the same ones that make me throw up) but I love to add it to just about everything fresh or cooked. A good recipee is to hollow one out, wrap it in foil, stuff with butter & boulion, and bake.

Sometime back, I would have given this entry a one-star rating.  During this past year, however, I have braved it up to really give them a chance.  Although I still don't like it overpowering, I have come to appreciate a small-to-moderate amount of onion as a flavor-enhancer.  Especially on a combination pizza, along with green peppers and olives, toppings I've liked to begin with. Now, when it comes to eating one plain (that is, biting into it like an apple)... well, I haven't gotten that far, yet.

I think onions are the best to season your food with. Really adds a lot of flavor.

Onions add a great amount of flavor when prepared with other foods, and they can be used in so many different ways.

Among my least favorite vegetables (and most vegetables I dislike). Everytime I buy speghetti sauce, I always read the ingredients to make sure it doesn't have any. I always pick out the onions if I see it in my meal. Onions really have no nutritional value either.

I like onions but they are forbidden in my house-hold because my husband doesn't like them. If he even smells them, he gets sick, so best to not even try.

to add flavor i can understand. but texturally i typically remove this vegetable from food after i've used it for saute purposes. i dont dislike many foods for trivial reasons but there's something very much along the lines of eating a fingernail when easting pieces of onion, or of eating a worm when eating a limber cooked onion.

Whether cooked or raw, sweet or hot, I treat it like poison. It smells like poison and tastes like poison. You want proof that it's poison: Your body can't digest it (has something to do with the steroechemistry). That's why onion eaters have gas that can fell high-flying birds and knock down mountains. It's poison. If it touches my food: Poison, throw it away. If I smell it: Poison, I'm running out of the room gagging. When my wife thinks she's cute, she'll try to slip some food that contains onion. I know immediately and give her Hades. My stomach turns to poison for a day until I can detox. Garlic: Good. Onion: Poison.

Raw or cooked, like garlic, an absolute essential in just about any cuisine.

Im addicted to them. Love all types, pickled are yummy. Caramalised are fab! These things make a hot dog or a burger. Also like red onion in salads. Finely chopped onion, mixed with corriander and cucumber are great on a popadom. (Indian appetizers maxed to their full potential). But with the taste comes the breath - not pleasant.

Sooo many varieties of onions, some are milder than others. You could probably grow a huge garden with just various onion varieties alone. Onion rings are great.

THE NASTIEST FLAVOR AND TEXTURE WHEN RAW. WHEN COMPLETELY COOKED DOWN IN CHINESE, ITALIAN, OR MEXICAN FOOD THEY ARE OK.

I really hate onions and can't eat anything they have even touched. The exception is when they are on cheese steaks I can deal with it, but I don't like it.

I could eat cooked onions all day long! When we have burgers, I grill some. When we have pizza, I cover it in them. I love the little ones on McDonalds' cheeseburgers. Last night, though, changed my whole perception on onions. To make a long story short, I had to take a huge bite of a raw one. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I started to gag right there. To make me even more upset, my car still stunk when I got in this morning. Another thing, my parents say I ate the things raw when I was younger.

I have an onion farm within viewing distance of my domicile. Raw onions eaten alone are appalling. Steak with onions, however, are great; as well as onion rings.

I live near one of the onion capitals of the world, Pine Island, NY, but it's a pity seeing as I don't really care for onions. Sure, they're good for spicing up food, onion-rings ain't bad, but I've never been much of a fan.

Oh my goodness yes! You gotta have onion in your cooking, otherwise it wont taste anyting. Roasted onions, fried onionrings. Onion in paella, pizza, sauces, salads and gratins etc. Without the onion, food would be pretty dull...
