Reminded me of Even Williams "Green".... Good bang for the buck. Nice smooth taste for a true Bourbon drinker. Good with water... (I don't do mixes)... but good on the rocks. Keep it up. Ric

Yuck! I decided to give this a try - what a mistake! It's bourbon, yes, but tastes as if it is aged bathwater. The only way I can get a burn out of it is if I swallow it immediately without it hitting my tongue. Terribly disappointing, given that some people have such a high opinion of it. For only two bucks more I could have had Evan Williams black label, which is about 10 times better.

this is one of the oldest bourbons in america and my favorite. in this economy we have become used to cheaper stuff, but there is quality in this. the flavor isn't "leathery", or "woodsy" nor does it come with "hints" of anything. it is a single solid flavor that is much like fruit and corn. It's sweet and incredibly affordable. I've had expensive bourbons before but they can't hold a candle to this simple bourbon. It's cheap as water, and a fine mixer as well. for a secret boost of flavor go buy a wine decantur. pour the bouron in it and let it sit for an hour. the alcohol will evaporate, but the flavor will concentrate, giving it added body and taste. Simply amazing.

Old Crow is a solid "Blue Collar" whiskey. The price makes it affordable to those on a budget and the taste makes it desirable. It is "all bourbon", a nice nose for those who like bourbon, a great body if you drink it neat, and a pleasant finish. Should your date want her's mixed, Crow stands up to the task. Why spend your hard earned money just to impress someone with the name on the bottle. Serve them Old Crow and impress them with a great tasting bourbon at a working man's price.

For the price, you can't beat Old Crow. It is good and smooth straight up, or great mixed with Seven Up, Sprite or Coca Cola. I personally prefer it, way too much, mixed with Sprite Zero. Buy a bottle and you will see, anyone who enjoys whiskey on a regular basis will save lots of money and if you are mixing that whiskey, you are, in my opinion throwing away money with the double priced "brand names". I filled a bottle of Jack Daniels with Old Crow for the holidays and not one person commented on the taste, and we were drinking it straight up. So, I saved 20 bucks and everyone was happy.

Surprisingly smooth considering how cheap it is. Good stuff. Hell I think it absolutely bets the shit out of Jack Daniels. The most ironic part is that for a 1.75 liter of JD it is more double that of old crow. ( 37.99 vs. 17.99). No offense to JD drinkers, but you're getting screwed. Not too mention it comes in a plastic bottle as well. Again the taste is superior to JD.

Few spirits are as enjoyable to a drinker with grownup tastes as bourbon (tini* drinkers are not part of this group). While I would prefer to have a bottle of Woodford Reserve or Makers Mark on hand ALL the time, the cost is steep. Old Crow is absolutely the best bottom shelf bourbon and even if you can afford the best brands, it's sensible to have a bottle of OC on hand for mixing, if nothing else. Old Crow easily holds its own against most middle shelf brands. I'd say you have to get up to Jim Beam Black before you move to a noticeably better taste. My Kentucky sister-in-law, an avid bourbon drinker, was very surprised at the reasonable quality of OC when I served it to her. Bottom line is this: if you want the best, go for it, but the price difference between OC and Jim Beam (a fine enough bourbon) is lot more that the quality difference. I must join the chorus as well... definately a well kept secret! I drink way too much of the stuff... but it is THE best bottom shelf whiskey, and i would say it probably beats out a good portion of the middle shelf options as well. I've grown so used to it, i prefer it over turkey any day. Long live the cunning crow.

For the price you can do worse. The stuff on the bottom shelf usually deserves to be there. Many taste like a combination of rubbing alcohol, rocks, and metallic rust. Old Crow is a notch above that. It doesn't taste terrible, and it doesn't taste harsh and cheap. But it does taste inoffensively unexceptional. It's like a generic cola..it doesn't really taste bad, but it has a simple one note flavor. I prefer Evan Williams 1783, but when that's sold out, the carmel and vanilla aroma of Old Crow does just fine.

I remember buying a bottle of Old Crow one lonely night at college. For an entire 14 hours I don't recall being troubled by my lack of a girlfriend, or anything for that matter. In fact the only reason i remember drinking this is because i woke up with the empty bottle sitting on my desk. 5 stars! can't tell you how it tasted.

While true that old crow is beam run-off, it is still far superior to the other extremely low end bourbons on the market. I always have a 1.75 on hand for mixing and a better bourbon(van winkle) on hand for sipping.

Best of the bottom shelf bourbons. Not bad on the rocks or in amixed drink that calls for bourbons.

5/5 for easing the grad school blues. When you're still roughin it with the Frosh, and you know that you could be enjoying Black if only you had a job, there's nothing like a shot of Crow to hit ya square in the gullet. Firewater at its finest!

why people turn their noses up at this Kentuky Sour Mash Burbon is beyond me, I point out to the naysayers that their beloved Jack Daniels cant even claim that title! It's being aged only 3yrs sadly shows in when taken neat, but in an old fashioned, it's tops!

Its better than drinking piss, but it seems like every now and then a bad bottle surfaces that just doesn't taste right. It almost tastes kind of salty. I've tried everything- rinsing out all my glasses, changing mixers, but it still seems like my last bottle went horribly wrong. Overall though, I do agree its a great deal for the price, hell of alot better than ten high or Canadian Mist, thats for damn sure.

Old Crow was my first taste of Bourbon back in 1977. The night before I went to Army Basic Training. I still drink it.

I have 2 bottbles of old crow one I been drinking and another I saving the bottles I got from my in laws they said they had them for over forty years and on the bottles it states 40 years aged unbroken seal. Does anyone know a price of this 80 year old whiskey?

The dirty bird is a great secret.  Don't let the price fool you, just be glad you can get a decent bourbon for such a great price.  At $7.99 a bottle just about the only thing my liquor store has that is cheaper is Ten High and Ten High is piss.  This is a fantastic buy for your money.  There is nothing fancy about it, just try it and see for yourself, don't be scared by the bird's inexpensive pricetag.

If you drink this whiskey, you will die. But it'll be worth it. Trust me. Cheaper than a two dollar hooker and kickier than an old mule, Old Crow will, uh, kick you in the crotch and steal your wallet and leave you stranded in a cheap motel. But it will be worth it...by God will it ever.

I started drinking Jim Beam when I first discovered whiskey but a friend of mine loved Jack...I switched to jack and that is now hands down my drink of choice!Today however I was a little short on cash so I had to choose between a real small bottle of jack or the big jug of the cheap stuff...I don't do ten high so Old Crow it was!I was very happy with my choice considering the price!I prefer this flavor over knob creek, makers, and jim...no jack but still great price!

One of the best inexpensive whiskeys out there. Especially good with coke. Enjoy for $15 for 1.75 liters in Tennessee. This was US Grant's bourbon!

I've been drinking Old Crow for about five years and have tried alot of different bourbon and none of them compare. Try it with Diet Coke w/lemon its awesome

Not bad tasting for an economically priced whiskey. Tastes better on the rocks than straight up. I would rate is as a good whiskey but not the best.

Here is the thing about Old Crow. I love it. But if you don't actually enjoy the full bodied taste of Bourban Whiskey then this is not for you. The flavor will not be masked. I give it five stars but I like Bourban. If you're looking for something trendy and cool that can be hidden or masked with sweet mix than look somewhere else. I'd give it a 3.5, actually. Oc (ock) is delightfully cheap and always satisfying. You really can't find a better cheap whiskey. Wonderful when combined with ice and Coke on a street in Las Vegas...in a yard glass...after about 14 drinks. Listen for the alluring song of the Crow...it sings for you.

Everclear is the Devil's Medicine, but the Crow is the Devil's soda pop, I could drink it day and night...oh wait, I already do.

The best bourbon for the money - hands down! Fifty years of sipping and drinking Old Crow convinces me (after comparing it with a multitude of bourbons) that this tastes best and costs less.

Old Crow Whiskey has been called grad-school whiskey for two reasons: it is inexpensive and when you are smart enough to go to grad-school you are smart enough to want the best you can buy for the money. There is no whiskey good enough to be truly called better that doesn't use extra number spaces to the left of the decimal.

Old Crow is the fire in my heart that keeps my soul a'flame. I savoured my first flavor of the OLD CROW my first year in college along with headbuttin' holes in the wall and breakin bottles over yer head. That, brother is what the OC is all about - given the finger the rest of society!

Thanks to "Old Crow" bourbon, I can no longer remember last Friday night! Go the old crow! The only thing I can remember is telling someone I had been drinking Old Crow only to have him reply "That stuff is toxic!". Cheap and effective.

I've tried a blind taste-test with Maker's Mark, Bookers, Old Grandad 100, and others, and contrary to what the snobs say, It still deserves the 91 rating given in the 1990's by the Beverage Testing Institute. It is a real find, and real bargain.

Better than Beam and Jack. Not as good as Makers or Knob Creek, but $20 cheaper a bottle.

Old Crow is just not what it used to be.

This is one of Jim Beam's 'cats and dogs' -- brands into which it dumps the bourbon that doesn't meet its own brands' taste profiles. Now, if you happen across some National Distillers' Old Crow (pre-Beam ownership in 1987), you've got yourself a real treat.
